General Sisi said: " Our blood is spelt and our martyrs are killed in a just battle against saboteurs and enemies of the homeland", adding he takes pride of the dedication of Sinai citizens. He said we shall never forget the role of Sinai Bedouins in supporting the army and we need their support for the Armed Forces so that we can lure investments for developing Sinai and providing job opportunities for its citizens. He stressed the importance of combating terrorism in Sinai in order to maintain the security and safety of the homeland adding the Armed forces will continue to keep up combat capabilities as they are the genuine guarantor of the homeland security and safety. General Sisi had witnessed the main phase of the live ammunition tactical exercise Nasr 10 which was carried out by the formations of the second field army. The exercise which continued for few days, came within the framework of the annual fighting training by the Armed Forces units. It involved armored elements, mechanical and artillery units, formations of the air force and air defense arms. At the end of the phase, General Sisi had a dialogue with a number of commanders and officers and cadets who took part in the exercise. He said the Armed Forces and Egypt's great people are one entity adding they will continue to carry out their assignments of defending the homeland, and defending its national security at this critical stage . He said the Armed Forces will continue to have high morale and be fully prepared to secure citizens, and to safeguard the Egyptian national security. He praised the distinguished performance of the troops taking part in the exercise, their high combat capabilities saying this confirms that the high level of efficiency and combat capabilities of the Armed Forces were not affected by the assignments of securing domestic front and maintaining the homeland security and stability. He said he takes pride in the unlimited giving by the Sinai citizens and their sacrifices in different stages of history and their national role in supporting the Armed Forces in their just war against terrorism as they are Egypt's first defense line. He said the Armed Forces will continue to carry out security assignments in cooperation with the civilian police to stamp out terrorism and purge Sinai off extremist elements in cooperation with Sinai honorable citizens. CAIRO, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Egypt's military chief Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi announced in a televised statement on Wednesday night his bid for the upcoming presidential elections, which is expected by the public after he toppled the former president in July last year.
