The US announcement came shortly after the European Union applied travel bans and asset freezes against 21 people from Russia and Crimea, who it believes were linked to the secession of Crimea from Ukraine. The EU list includes 13 Russians and eight people from Crimea, and singles out political figures. The sanctions by the West came in response to Sunday\'s referendum in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, where the ethnic Russian majority voted to declare Crimea\'s independence from Ukraine on Sunday. Satellite data has confirmed Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 carrying 239 people crashed into the southern Indian Ocean. Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak told a news conference all those on the Boeing 777-200 have been lost. He said satellite data provided by UK company Inmarsat showed the plane's last recorded position was in the middle of the Indian Ocean, west of Perth, Australia. Malaysia Plane Crashed Into Indian Ocean The missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 crashed into the southern Indian Ocean west of Perth, killing all 239 people on board. "This is a remote location, far from any possible landing sites," Mr Razak said. "It is therefore with deep sadness and regret that I must inform you that, according to this new data, flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean." Sky's Jonathan Samuels in Beijing said there were "very, very distressing" scenes as relatives were told the news. "Some people were in tears, others are helping those struggling and a woman is screaming in absolute anguish. It's very tough to watch," he said. Malaysia Airlines told relatives they should "assume beyond any reasonable doubt" that all those on the plane are dead. The mystery of what happened to the plane and why it veered west from its Kuala Lumpur to Beijing route remains unsolved. Araik Stepanian, a member of the Presidium of the Academy of Geopolitical Problems, shared his opinion about the situation in Egypt in an interview with Pravda.Ru. Araik Stepanian: "What were the reasons for a second rebellion or revolution in modern-day Egypt? First off, it is about the messy change of government. When new people came, they quickly began to throw old people out. The newcomers were not as professional managers as their predecessors. They were selected for religious reasons, for the degree of their devotion and so on. Quite rapidly, the change of power led to extreme indignation and lack of understanding. All the Egyptians, who fought and tried to change the government, thought that they would be more involved in the process of formation, or recreation of the new Egypt. However, they saw that if you're not from the "Muslim Brotherhood", if you're not Salafi and so on, then you can not have claims to power. There were no opportunities for other political organizations. They took a monopoly on power and began to dictate their terms in a rude way. During one year, people saw no changes for the better, nothing happened in their lives. The economic stagnation remained where it was, the unemployment rate was 13 percent. Egypt could not do without financial assistance from the outside, so the Americans finance them. Now they want to raise a loan from the International Monetary Fund. They have not solved the questions, which people were defending when they were protesting against Mubarak. On the contrary, all those problems became much more serious. For example, in the new draft constitution Mursi made himself more powerful than the pharaohs of Ancient Egypt. So human rights, free press, women's rights and so on are not an issue to deal with at all.

Satellite data has confirmed Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 carrying 239 people crashed into the southern Indian Ocean. Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak told a news conference all those on the Boeing 777-200 have been lost. Sky's Jonathan Samuels in Beijing said there were "very, very distressing" scenes as relatives were told the news. The mystery of what happened to the plane and why it veered west from its Kuala Lumpur to Beijing route remains unsolved. Hijacking, pilot incapacitation and pilot murder-suicide are still all possible explanations.
