VP of Production Lin Cho-Fung arrives late to the investor meeting to find chaos. Somehow, the eclectic ethnicity's of the investors have clashed, and all around cultural faux pas has been committed. Just when Lin settles restores order, Executive Producer Andy Reeves enters the room less than sober, and more than enthusiastic. A few embarrassing moments later, the boardroom is crashed by a six foot Malaysian prostitute demanding swift remittance for her services. We discover that her customer was none other than Andy (who is sporting a black eye under his dark sunglasses). After the Executive Producer's dirty laundry is publicly aired, security finally enters to remove the enraged prostitute. A vicious fight ensues in the boardroom between the unpaid street walker and security force which unfortunately results in electrocution, unconsciousness, and awkward silence. Just a typical day at Elite productions.

In 1995, brothers Jimmy Ray Johnson and Bobby Ray Johnson collaborated to produce the horror movie "Curse of the Jackalope." The film was purchased at the Lula (GA) International Film Festival and Barbeque Cook-Off by producer Richard McCovey and released into theaters by his company, McCovey Pictures. Amid bad reviews and a disastrous distribution, the film grossed a total of $17 at the box office. Over time, the film has gained a hint of notoriety as the "lowest grossing film of all time." Richard McCovey Jr has taken over his father's company, with grand plans of re-releasing the film. But first, he has to reunite the cast & crew for the ten-year Anniversary screening, an event he's dubbed "Jackalope X."

Many are looking at the deal as a precedent to future deals with other broadband providers. While many investors feared that this might be on the way and that it would have a negative impact on the stock, shares were actually up on the news. In the lead segment from Monday's edition of Investor Beat, host Chris Hill and Motley Fool analysts Jason Moser and Taylor Muckerman discuss the deal, how it ultimately benefits consumers, and what it reveals about the consumer-focused management philosophy at Netflix. Then, the guys take a look at four stocks moving on the market today. Shares of Lifelock are falling today after the company disclosed that whistleblowers have talked to the Federal Trade Commission regarding the company's marketing practices. The Container Store also dropped today, on news of a downgrade to "underperform" by Merrill Lynch. Humana has hit an all-time high, after proposed Medicare cuts were lower than originally expected. And shares of 3D Systems fell today, after they too were downgraded by Merrill Lynch. The accompanying report posited that the company's organic growth rate would peak in 2014. And finally, the 3rd quarter of 2013 was huge for the solar industry, the second strongest ever in the U.S. for solar installations and the first strongest in terms of residential installations, which has Taylor keeping a close eye on how the 4th quarter looked for SolarCity when it announces earnings this afternoon. Meanwhile, Jason will be watching the Chinese web portal Sina, which owns the popular Chinese microblogging site Weibo, a site many have called the Chinese version of Twitter. Jason discusses rumors that Sina may spin off the Weibo business which would then have its own IPO, and says he'll be watching when the company reports earnings after market close today, to see if the company gives any further news on that front. Despite pulling in $280 million internationally, the cost to produce the film meant that just wasn't enough. And with the stock up over 100% in the past year, any miss on earnings will be looked on very poorly by the market. In the lead story from Wednesday's Investor Beat, host Chris Hill and Motley Fool analyst Bill Barker take a look at DreamWorks over the past year, and what it has ahead. While Chris is less than optimistic that its next feature Mr. Peabody & Sherman will be a game-changer for the company, Bill notes that this game is more about expectations than performance. Then, food industry equipment company Middleby hit an all-time high today after the company announced in its Q4 earnings report that profits were up 36%, and revenue was up nearly 40%. Bill notes that the addressable market for the company is enormous and continuing to grow both domestically and internationally, and the guys also discuss the company's incredible execution of its growth-by-acquisition strategy over the years. While an all-time high may look intimidating for investors, Bill still sees the possibility of another ten year run for the company that could be just as impressive as its last ten years. Also, 4th-quarter profits came in lower than expected for Boston Beer, and the company lowered guidance as well, but the market didn't react nearly as badly as it could have. Bill takes a look behind the scenes, and points to one of the best problems a company can have, more demand than it was able to easily meet. He discusses the company's strategy whereby instead of just leaving demand unmet, it spent a bit extra to meet demand, even if there were some inefficiencies along the way. And finally, Bill discusses TRI Pointe Homes, and tells investors why this California-based home builder is lighting up on his radar this week. Penney earnings for the 4th quarter are out, with the stock absolutely exploding upward 25% on the news that the company was profitable in Q4. At least, on paper the company was profitable. In the lead story from Thursday's Investor Beat, host Chris Hill and Motley Fool analyst David Hanson break down the report, and look at J.C. Penney's prospects from here. David notes that a tax asset can be credited as the main reason for the profit this quarter, and that the report was still terrible. While same-store sales were up 2% from last year, 2013 was such an awful year for the company that it wasn't a high benchmark to beat. Some investors have been looking at JCP as an extremely cheap value play today, that only needs to improve slightly for investors to turn a profit. David however just sees too many headwinds here for him to want to be involved. Then, Noodles & Company saw shares fall today after the company reported earnings, missing expectations on both profit and revenue. The stock shot up 70% on its first day of trading last summer when it IPO'd amid enthusiasm over stocks in the fast casual dining space, but this may be the company falling back down to reality. David states simply that the business of fast casual just isn't as easy as the market thinks it is. NDLS is not founder-run like some of the other extremely successful businesses in this space, and is valued at a shocking 70 times next year's earnings. To David, this company just hasn't got the same prospects as a Panera or a Chipotle, and the valuation is far too overenthusiastic. Also, shares of eBay hit an all-time high today, after the company fired back at well-known billionaire and activist investor Carl Icahn. eBay's chairman came out and said that Icahn's statements earlier this week were "false and misleading," this came after Icahn called on the company to spin off the PayPal segment of its business. Chris and David take a look at whether eBay spinning off PayPal would unlock value for shareholders, and whether it makes sense for the business. While David sees it as something that could happen one day down the road, he's taking eBay's side for the time being, saying that for now, it makes sense for them to stick together. And finally, David tells investors why Coca-Cola is a stock he's putting on his watchlist today. David looks at the phenomenal business of Coca-Cola and its legendary supply chain, but notes that the stock itself has been largely flat over the past year despite the market gains. That's made him sit up and take notice that this might be a great business that's coming back down to a fair price. However, many investors are worried about the secular decline in popularity of sugary carbonated sodas in the United States. David says that while that may be a slight concern, popularity of those beverages isn't going to vanish anytime soon, and in the meantime, Coke has some incredible purchasing power to acquire other great drinks, where it can use its supply chain to make those new brands thrive.
