Seoul, South Korea, is truly an amazing city to visit! It's modern, easy to navigate and there's little something everyone will enjoy. The Seoul subway system makes it easy to get around town and discover exactly what the giant city has to offer. Surrounded by Japan and China, Seoul and South Korea sometimes doesn't get all the attention is deserves . Korea is home to a unique culture, cuisine and a fascinating history. If you ever have the chance to visit Seoul, you'll have a great time! I traveled to Seoul Korea and was able to do all kinds of things, but I've narrowed this list down to twenty five of the best things to do in Seoul - of course there are other things as well but this list is just the beginning and intended to get your ideas and travel imagination flowing! Korean Barbecue I stayed in South Korea for just over 2 weeks and was able to complete this entire list of things to do in Seoul. However, even though there are so many places to see and go, probably my favorite of all is eating and sampling delicious Korean food! Korean food is so good and there are so many restaurants everywhere you look in Seoul that it can truly be considered a foodie's paradise. What do the latter see in Seoul? Sunset is when the magic begins Even when the sun is out, it can be dreary in the city. But once that sun hides behind the horizon, something magical takes hold of Seoul. Taxi driver Cho Yeong-ho is someone who knows more than most about these magical hours. He drives his cab in the night shift and has been through every street and alley in the city. When he drives, he's always listening to music. He records old classics to play them to his customers. People have started calling him the DJ taxi driver. Nightfall in Seoul, a romantic song Seoul comes alive at night with its bright neon city lights. Couples can go on a romantic date at an observatory that offers panoramic views of Seoul or ride a ferry in the Hangang River to take in the city skyline. You can find amateur photographers roaming Seoul to capture the splendid night lights. Come and see Seoul's mystical night when people find relaxation and romance. Nightfall in Seoul, traveling back in time When night falls, Gyeongbokgung Palace lights up with strobe lights. Was going to be kind of a giant fail. 5 Warning Signs that it's going to be a quiet night out. Look out! For Seoul: Nightlife, I decided to go to Hongdae (a big artsy bar/club area that is popular in Seoul). I just happened to pick the wrong night to do so. Wow, the weekend did not pan out the way I wanted and neither did my footage, but I think that's part of the challenge of this project. Things won't always be perfect. It was bad and good, but I just worked with what I had. I'm sorry if it's not what you expected, it wasn't what I expected either lol. So Friday night I went out to Hongdae on one of the coldest nights in Seoul since I've been here (good move). And on Saturday, I went to noraebang (karaoke room, or literally translated "singing room") just to let out some stress with some gals. Driving in Seoul isn't the best option for casual travelers, especially when there are so many other ways to get around. The public transportation system is probably all you'll need. The subway system, called the Metro, is one of the most-used subway systems in the world. It's quick, reliable, comfortable, and safe. It's also pretty inexpensive. Prices are determined by how far you ride. And it's very easy to use. Signs and maps have English, Chinese, and Japanese translations, so visitors who don't understand Korean won't have any trouble. There are Metro routes covering pretty much all of the city. But even if there's somewhere the subway won't take you, a bus can probably get you there. Buses aren't quite as user-friendly as the Metro, so you should plan your trip out in advance if you think you'll need to use one. You can pay for rides on the Metro and bus with single tickets, or with a rechargeable T-money card. The T-money card is a good investment if you plan on using the Metro a lot. It's easy to use and will save you money on bus transfers. If public transportation doesn't do the trick, taxis are a good bet. They're safe and reasonably priced. Not all taxi drivers speak English, so you might want to your destination written down to show them. There are plenty of convenient ways to get around Seoul, so you won't have to worry about transportation.

Any season is a good time to visit Seoul but summer can be touristy so it's not the best time to visit. Even though monsoon season is in June and July, tourists still seem to prefer summer travel to Seoul. If you visit during the summer, you can expect heat, humidity, rain, and crowds. On the other hand, winter is the low season. It can get very cold, but it's the best time to find bargains. The Lunar New Year is the exception to that rule because Seoul sees lots of visitors for this important holiday. Look up what week the Lunar New Year will fall before deciding when to visit. If you do choose to visit during the winter, it's still easy to enjoy Seoul while it's cold. Just pack a warm coat and make sure to spend some time in one of Seoul's hot springs. If you really can't stand the cold, there are still some bargains in the spring, when the weather is mild and pleasant. But if you visit during one of the festivals, such as the Cherry Blossom Festival in April, you can expect Seoul to be crowded and pricier. Book ahead of time, or you might not be able to get a hotel room. Fall also has beautiful weather and few tourists, so it's a good compromise. As long as you avoid the summer months, your trip to Seoul will be a success.
