François Pinault (born 21 August 1936) is a French businessman who runs the retail company PPR. He is a friend of former French President Jacques Chirac.

His holding company Artemis S.A., owns (or owned), among others, Converse shoes, Samsonite luggage, Château Latour, the Vail Ski Resort in Colorado, and Christie's auction house. Artemis also owns Executive Life (now Aurora Life) in California, which was sued by policy holders when the company failed.

Pinault owns one of the biggest collections of contemporary art worldwide. On the magazine ArtReview's 2006 list of most powerful people in modern art, he was ranked in first place. In 2006 he obtained the ownership of Palazzo Grassi in Venice to display the collection. He has collected works by Damien Hirst.

Pinault led PPR through a long battle over control of Gucci, the Italian fashion house, which began with an attempted takeover of Gucci by LVMH, the world's largest luxury goods company. In March 1999, Gucci asked PPR to acquire an ownership interest in Gucci to help fend off LVMH. The result was a struggle between the two richest men in France, both self-made billionaires — Pinault and Bernard Arnault, the Chairman of LVMH.

Salma Valgarma Hayek Jiménez de Pinault (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈsalma ˈxaʝek]; born September 2, 1966) is a Mexican and American film actress, director and producer. She received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her role as Frida Kahlo in the film Frida.

Hayek was born in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico, the daughter of Diana Jiménez Medina, an opera singer and talent scout, and Sami Hayek Dominguez, an oil company executive who once ran for mayor of Coatzacoalcos. Hayek's father is of Lebanese ancestry, while her mother's ancestry is Spanish. Her first given name, Salma, is Arabic for "safe". Raised in a wealthy, devoutly Roman Catholic family, she was sent to the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau, Louisiana, at the age of twelve. While there, she was diagnosed with dyslexia. She attended college in Mexico City, where she studied International Relations at the Universidad Iberoamericana.

At the age of 23, Hayek landed the title role in Teresa (1989), a successful Mexican telenovela that made her a star in Mexico. In 1994, Hayek starred in the film El Callejón de los Milagros (Miracle Alley), which has won more awards than any other movie in the history of Mexican cinema.^{[citation needed]} For her performance, Hayek was nominated for an Ariel Award.

François-Henri Pinault, born (1962-05-28) 28 May 1962 (age 50) in Rennes, Brittany, France, is a French businessman and the chief executive officer of PPR. He is the son of the company's founder, businessman François Pinault. Often nicknamed ‘FHP’, he is also Director of Financière Pinault, as well as the President of Artémis' executive board.

François-Henri Pinault graduated from HEC School of Management in 1985, and did his military service in the French Consulate Economic Expansion station in Los Angeles (United States), during which he was in charge of studying fashion and new technology sectors in the States.

He started his career in PPR in 1987. In 1988, he became the manager of the company’s buying department. In 1989, he became head manager of France Bois Industries, and then of Pinault Distribution in 1990.

In 1993, he was appointed CEO of CFAO (formerly Compagnie Française de l’Afrique Occidentale) a retail subsidiary of the Group in Africa and in the overseas territories, specialized in cars and medicine. In 1997, he became CEO of Fnac.

Henri-Marie-Ernest-Désiré Pinault (September 7, 1904 – February 24, 1987) was the Roman Catholic bishop of Chengdu from 1949 until 1983, four years before his death.

Pinault was born in 1904 into a family of farmers in Tinténiac deanery in Trévérien commune, Ille-et-Vilaine department in Brittany in northwestern France. In 1905 the Pinault family settled on a farm in Évran commune in the Côtes du Nord department of Brittany. Pinault had his primary school studies in Évran and his secondary schooling at the Cordeliers in Dinan. The Pinaults were devout Roman Catholics and Henri had an uncle who was a priest in the diocese of St. Brieuc and a cousin who was a priest in the diocese of Rennes. In 1922 Pinault was ordained as a priest and on June 29, 1929 he received his ordination as a Priest of La Société des Missions Etrangères.

On September 15, 1929 Father Pinault embarked on his mission to Chengdu, China. When he first arrived in China the country was in turmoil. After spending several months in Chengdu, he was sent to Bazhou to undergo language training. Father Pinault took the Chinese name Pengdaochuan. (simplified Chinese: 彭道传; traditional Chinese: 彭道傳; pinyin: Péngdàochuán; Wade–Giles: P'eng-Tao-Ch'uan) The city was captured on February 23, 1933 by forces of the Communist Party of China and clergymen and Christians were forced to flee. Father Pinault found refuge with Benedict monks in Chongqing. In 1934 Father Pinault was appointed Supérieur du Probatorium at Hebachang, where he organized a hospice in 1942. In 1945 Father Pinault departed from Hebachang and replaced the deceased pastor at Tsong-Kin-Tcheou.

Stella Nina McCartney (born 13 September 1971) is an English fashion designer. She is the daughter of former Beatles member Sir Paul McCartney and the late photographer and animal rights activist, Linda McCartney.

Stella McCartney was born in Lambeth, London, England on 13 September 1971, the second child of Beatles bassist Paul McCartney and photographer Linda Eastman. She is named after her maternal great-grandmothers (both of Linda McCartney's grandmothers were named Stella). As a young girl, McCartney travelled the globe with her parents and their pop music group Wings, along with her siblings: older half-sister Heather (who was legally adopted by Paul McCartney), older sister Mary, and younger brother James. According to her father, the name of Wings was inspired by Stella's difficult birth. As his daughter was being born by emergency caesarean section, Paul sat outside the operating room and prayed that she be born "on the wings of an angel." Wings toured from shortly after her birth in 1971 until 1980.
