I still have a McDonalds glass emblazoned with Robin on it. And I used to wear a 1996 Atlanta cap everywhere. It was like, felt? Real nice.

That toy tripped me out. I also had to be told Vader was Luke's daddy 'cos I missed that part too.

I'd fallen asleep in the cinemas before the end of both Empire AND Return so I didn't know Vader was a fucking human under that helmet.

There was this one toy where Darth Vader's head span around and the helmet opened up to reveal old Anakin underneath.

A lot of my 90s pop cultural memories were galvanised by McDonalds Happy Meal toys. The Star Wars re-releases, the Olympics, Batman Forever.

@ikrogers I have absolutely no idea what it means. It's a pretty funny phrase though. Maybe they're like pastel goths. Or 'soft grunge'.

I mean America stinks but if you tried fleeing here our government might lock you up forever, so.

I'm not happy that America the country is in decline (lotta people in situations getting worse), but I'm happy that America the idea is.
