Four years ago I launched a website called ElectricBikeReview.com to help people discover ebikes and make informed purchase decisions. To do this, I left my tech job in Austin and began staying with friends and ultimately living in my car part time so I could save money and travel. Often times this meant camping in a Walmart parking lot, on BLM land or in the driveway at a friend’s house. My hope is that this video inspires you to think differently about your own challenges and dreams. You can strive to earn more or learn to spend less and ultimately, I’ve done a bit of both. I’ve had to make sacrifices along the way but also learned to love minimalism and the freedom of camping. My first car was a Toyota 4Runner but I switched to a Prius after one year for improved comfort, better gas mileage and sustainability. It’s more than just the car though, a lot of little adjustments have been made and accessories have been purchased to make it livable and really work.
