Claudio Abbado - Mahler Symphony No. 9
This very Italian conductor, born in Milan in 1933, who was for fifteen years the director of the Scala trained in Vienna with Hans Swarowsky is extremely familiar with the culture of Central Europe, of its literature and its fine arts. It is with the Second symphony by Mahler that he chooses to make his debut, at thirty-two, with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Vienna. The Youth Orchestra he founded in 1986 bears the name of Gustav Mahler. Since then, Abbado continues to exhale the complex beauty of the Viennese composers' symphonies in all the concert halls of the world. That evening in April 2004 at the Saint Cecilia Academy in Rome, it is with the very same Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra that he conducts Mahler's last symphony that went unfinished, the Ninth Symphony. Composed in 1909, it was premiered in 912 by Bruno Walter, who was a close friend of the composer and whom Abbado heard conduct in Vienna. In this absolute masterpiece of a symphonic work, Claudio Abbado, one with his orchestra, delivers a very moving interpretation which rises like the most beautiful prayer. Track List: 1. Andante comodo 0:01:05 2. Im Tempo eines gemächlichen Ländlers.Etwas täppisch und sehr derb 0:25:44 3. Rondo-Burleske/Allegro assai.Sehr trotzig 0:40:50 4. Adagio 0:53:55- published: 01 May 2013

Happy Arrival 0:00 ..............II. By the Brook 10:56 .......................III. Merrymaking 24:10 ...............................IV. ThunderStorm 29:21 ........................................V. Shepherd's Song 32:22 ______________________________________________________ Conducted by Frans Brüggen (Orchestra of the 18th Century) I'm happy for you all. Thank you for watching this nice symphony. ______________________________________________________ Beethoven's 6th Symphony (Pastoral) A Love of Nature The Pastoral Symphony is a charming masterpiece which both paints a picture of nature and describes man's feelings towards it. Beethoven's great love of nature, the delight in strolling through the countryside in Vienna, the fact that he always found his equilibrium in the heart of nature, all these inspired him to create his sixth symphony. Beethoven's 6th Symphony is filled with colorful sounds, simple folk tunes, nice development, and a feeling of calm beauty. It contains meaningful emotional aspect which reflects mankind's feelings towards the natural world. Beethoven began sketching out his 6th symphony in 1802 and finished it in 1808. "How happy I am to be able to walk among the shrubs, the trees, the woods, the grass and the rocks! For the woods, the trees and the rocks give man the resonance he needs," Beethoven said in the summer of 1808. The premiere of the 6th Symphony was probably the grandest musical event in Beethoven's life. It was a massive concert packed with indelible moments of brand new Beethoven music! This programmatic endeavor is clearly expressed through the suggestive title of the symphony, as well as through the titles of each movement. When Beethoven found refuge in the midst of nature, he jotted down themes inspired by the trill of birds, the trickling of creeks or the rustle of leaves. In a notebook from 1803 was found an outline of a river's trickling with the additional note: "The greater the river, the more grave the tone." Beethoven spread out the symphony into five movements and gave each movement a little subtitle explaining what it was about. I. "Happy Arrival" (Awakening of cheerful feelings upon arrival in the country) The Pastoral symphony opens with warmth and calm, setting the scene as we arrive in the countryside. This has a programmatic indication. In this movement, we find a genuine popular sonority through the choice of instruments neatly weaved together. II. "By the Brook" (The natural scene of the stream) This slow movement is a beautiful depiction of the delicate nature of... nature itself. It is a wonderful scene of nature with exceptionally musical themes in the pure pastoral air. You can almost breathe the fresh country air! It is more of a description of sensations rather than images. Towards the end, we find the onomatopoeic sounds of birds. III. "Merrymaking" (Joyful gathering of countryfolk) Now we turn our attention to the loud, jolly peasants who live in the countryside. Here we see them celebrate with a joyful dance. Of course, these are simple folks, so the music itself is simple, but very energetic. IV. "ThunderStorm" (Heavy rumblings of natural forces) 29:21 With no pause between the previous movement and this movement, there is a dramatic surprise, hinting at trouble ahead. Yes, a storm is brewing! Beethoven inserts fantastic lightning crashes and the whirl of the wind. He renders the stages of the storm as it unravels on the horizon and moves closer more and more threatening. The instruments with grave chords -- cellos and double basses -- through their sounds announce the storm, then, the staccato sounds of the violins render the falling raindrops, and through the timpani and the flutes we sense the thunder and lightning. Then comes the rainbow. Above all these images, we feel the tense disposition that captures man facing the realities of nature. There's an underlying sense of human fear since humanity is powerless against the forces of nature. When the storm is over, all living creatures come to the surface, taking their place in the natural cycle. This is rendered by a choral of flutes which come as a true sunray. V. "Shepherd's Song" (Expression of thanks when the storm is over) As the storm fades away, all the animals emerge, and there's a general feeling of relief. Sunshine reappears, and everyone's mind is relaxed again. This is the song of gratitude towards nature. It is a calm movement, full of grace. It starts out quiet, but quickly gets faster and happier. The music is fairly simple, but this makes its emotions of gratitude endearing. Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony, through its simplicity, is just sincere and natural.- published: 16 Dec 2013

/.(0:00).........//.(14:42).........///.(23:41).........////.(32:56) ▬▬▬(ஜ۩۞۩ஜ)▬ BEETHOVEN ▬(ஜ۩۞۩ஜ)▬▬▬ This is the **COMPLETE** version of Beethoven's 7th Symphony. One of the best renditions I have ever heard. Excellent sound quality. Ludwig van Beethoven 7th Symphony, Full version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6Mi3fcVd4M Thank you for watching this symphony... Symphony No. 7 in A major (Opus 92) is a composition reflecting Beethoven's unparalleled wisdom. Beethoven began writing Symphony No. 7 in 1811 and completed it in 1812. He took his time to create something totally amazing, and this remains one of the best music ever written. This is the moment when we identify a modern stage in the composer's creation, where classical elements intertwine with romantic ones, thus generating a new expression far more intimate and more complex. Movement I (Vivace) The first movement starts with a long, expanded introduction marked "poco sustention", showing a solemn and majestic character. On the rhythmical background we hear the fine motif. This first part brings many new elements, easy to decipher, because the composer achieved perfection through sound. Here, we see Beethoven's distinctive use of rhythm and pioneering sense of key relationships. Movement II (Allegretto) The second movement is perhaps the most expressive part of this symphony. This movement was encored at the premiere and has remained popular since. It begins with the main melody played by the violas and cellos. The melody is then played by the second violins while the violas and cellos play a different melody which is equally important, described by George Grover as "a string of beauties hand-in-hand". While in the first movement the A major sonorities conferred greatness and sumptuousness, the theme in Movement II, in A minor, brings a whole new atmosphere, thus emphasizing the contrast between the two. Movement III (Presto) The third movement represents a splendid triumph in rendering the scherzo form. As a whole, it conveys a genuine bucolic scene with pictorial meanings and associations. With this (meno presto assai) in trio, the composer uses a theme from an Austrian folkloric song, the theme of which had been jotted down while Beethoven was in Teplitz. Movement IV (Allegro) The fourth movement emanates an immense joy from beginning to the end (allegro con brio). It is a whole series of images, full of energy and pleasure of life. This last movement is in sonata form, the coda of which contains an example of the dynamic marking ƒƒƒ (called forte fortissimo or fortississimo). Listening to this symphony's grand finale one can hardly decide what to think more astonishing: Beethoven's amazing creative fantasy, the impeccable form, the amazing talent in using all the musical resources in developing the themes, or his compact, luscious, sumptuous instrumentation. ______________________ Conducted by Fritz Reiner (Chicago Symphony Orchestra), et al.- published: 23 Jan 2012
