Google Glass is partnering with Ray-Ban and Oakley

Back in January, Google unveiled its first frames for Google Glass. While the in-house designed Titanium styles were certainly an improvement of the floating, Star Trek-style chassis favoured by Sergey Brin, the bland specs were hardly likely to be seen in GQ's style pages any time soon. Today, that could all change with the announcement that Google is partnering with eyewear giant Luxottica to develop "innovative iconic wearable devices" using their best-known brands.

Translation? Two of Luxottica 's biggest brands, Ray-Ban and Oakley, will work with Google to integrate Glass into future designs. And, while Google warned that "you're not going to see Glass on your favorite Oakleys or Ray-Bans tomorrow" (the retail version is still a while away and current models limited to select "Explorers") it does mean that future pairs of Wayfarers could come with Google Maps.
