Out of the 81 books I read in 2013, I can honestly say that 10 books stand above the rest. I enjoyed so many well-written, top-notch novels and these are my absolute favorites. I highly recommend each of the books below and hope you will love them as much as I have ... Maas ... In fact, the novel is less about the competition to become the King’s Champion and more about the change Celaena undergoes during her time in the kingdom, and her discovery that not all who are connected to the King are her enemies. Maas has written a wonderful cast of characters, from Celaena, to Prince Dorian, to Chaol Westfall, and Princess Nehemia. Assassins and angry aunts. Throne of Glass (Bloomsbury, Rs 299) by Sarah J. Maas will remind readers more than once of Suzanne Collins’s The Hunger Games (2008). This is not because Maas’s heroine, Celaena Sardothien — who is supposed to be the deadliest assassin in the fictional land of Ardalane — can hold a candle to Collins’s spunky, mature Katniss Everdeen ...
