2015 NSIC Fall Preview

NSIC football, volleyball and soccer are set to begin competition on Thursday, September 3 with cross country joining the mix on Friday and men’s golf on Saturday. NSIC football will have a full slate of conference match-ups in week one with cross division play. The national spotlight will be on Mankato, Minn. on Thursday night when the top ranked Mavericks host No. 3 Minnesota Duluth in a rematch of last year’s Super Region #3 Championship game. That game will be broadcast on ESPN3. The schedule will be split as four games will be played on Thursday night and the final four games will be played throughout the day on Saturday. In soccer, Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State kick off their schedules with an NSIC match on Thursday night in Bemidji, Minn. The other 14 schools will play in non-conference contests over the weekend. Volleyball will disperse across the nation as 61 matches will take place over the weekend. A battle of top five teams in the nation will take place on Saturday when No. 4 Minnesota Duluth travels to No. 1 Tampa. NSIC volleyball has four teams ranked in the top six in the nation, including No. 2 Concordia-St. Paul, No. 3 Southwest Minnesota State and No. 6 Wayne State. Men’s Golf will begin their season at The Jewel Golf Course in Lake City, Minn. when they participate in the NSIC Fall Preview on Saturday and Sunday. Women’s golf is set to begin their season on Tuesday, September 8th with the Fall Central Region preview at Prairie Highlands Golf Course in Olathe, Kansas. Finally, select men’s and women’s cross country teams will open their season this Friday and Saturday.
