(Re-uploaded due to a slight technical issue, 1-2 mins of extra footage at the end of this version)Well, this is something I've thought about doing for years, and after reading about the "Tifa's Package" Mod, I decided to give this thing a shot. Please read to understand how this series will work. This is a Movie Version of the 1997 PS1 classic Final Fantasy VII. The original game is now 16 years old, and the PS1 version looks understandably dated. Since this is a Movie I wanted the visuals to be as good as possible, so I made use of the aforementioned Mod Pack to give this game a whole new look. Of course it's nothing like a full on Remaster, but I think visually it looks much better than the original. I will be showing you all the "Cutscenes" and pieces of gameplay. This puts it somewhere between a 1-2 hour Cutscene/FMV only Movie and a full 20-30 hour walkthrough. I have not completed this game before, so I don't know its story. What I will be doing is going through the game blind, and including every cutscene/piece of dialogue I come across along the main story. There are likely to be cutscenes that are missed, but my philosophy is that if they are miss-able then they are not essential to the story, or else they would have been mandatory. Obviously this game has no voice acting so the dialogue will have to be read like a manga/comic. This was the main reason I didn't want to make this, but I think this game has enough fans and enough of a story to make it watchable in this way. A lot of Final Fantasy fans don't have English as a first language, and test footage feedback told me that I needed to slow down the dialogue progression, so that's what I have done. It will be impossible to find a "perfect" pace, since we all have different reading speeds. I would rather have it a little slower so that the maximum number of people can read and understand what's going on, since that's the only way we can drive the story forward effectively. As usual, I will include a little gameplay to keep things active, and show transitions between locations. Battles are of course another stumbling block when turning video games into Movies, especially for RPG's. I've decided to keep it simple and show "highlights" from the mandatory boss battles only. What you'll see is a few attacks from either side along with a few power moves/limit breaks where possible. I don't want to show too much since it's full of menus/attack selection etc. I also thought skipping the battles entirely would make the series too boring since it would be pretty much entirely based on reading text. We'll see how this format works for now, since this first part only has 1 boss battle. I've cropped out the life bars/names/mp stuff on the bottom right, but I'm not bothering to get rid of attack names and damage numbers, since it takes too much work and doesn't add much to the overall experience. I hope you guys enjoy watching this, I've done my best to keep everyone happy with it, but of course there will be those that have complaints, I can't please everyone :) In part 1, we are introduced to Cloud Strife, an ex member of Shinra's SOLDIER unit who has become a mercenary for hire. Cloud has teamed up with Barret and his group, AVALANCHE, and they are on a mission to destroy the Mako reactors powering the Shinra-governed city of Midgar up above. They believe that doing so will save their planet from the harmful effects of the reactors.
