Relevant Discovery: Sanctuary of ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Nectanebo I discovered in Heliopolis, Egypt - The Grandfather of Alexander the Great. He was the father of Nectanebo II, biological father of Alexander the Great.
- " There is an apocryphal tale, appearing in the pseudo-historical Alexander Romance, which details another end for the last Egyptian Pharaoh of Egypt. Soon after Alexander the Great's godhood was confirmed by the Oracle of Zeus Ammon, a rumor was begun that Nectanebo II, following defeat in his last battle, did not travel to Nubia but instead to the court of Philip II of Macedon in the guise of an Egyptian magician. There, while Philip was away on campaign, Nectanebo convinced Philip's wife Olympias that Amun was to come to her and that they would father a son. Nectanebo, disguising himself as Amun, slept with Olympias and from his issue came Alexander." (Wikipedia - Link 3 below).

Nectanebo II (360-342 BC) was the last pharaoh of the Thirteenth Dynasty and the last native ruler of Ancient Egypt. I was amazed how the story of the last native ruler of Ancient Egypt has been overlooked and never entertained ever. Si te tocaba nacer en un periodo intermedio de Egipto es que eras un pringao. Este tercer periodo intermedio y el periodo tardío son una auténtica locura. Casi 600 años de fragmentación, inestabilidad socio-económica y dinastías cayendo una tras otra. Los únicos faraones que se salvan son el libio Sheshonq I, el nubio Piye, Psamético I, que echó a los asirios, Psamético III por haberse enfrentado a Cambises II en la batalla de Pelusio y finalmente a Nectanebo I, que recompuso el país tras tantas invasiones.

Si arriva da Assuan in barca a motore al molo situato a sud dell'isola sbarcando dal lato di accesso del Tempio di Iside, costruito in più fasi dalla XXX Dinastia e nel periodo greco-romano, in un cortile esterno prima dell'ingresso templare: il vestibolo di Nectanebo I, incompleti i templi di Imhotep e del dio nubiano Arensnuphis, poi a sinistra 31 colonne alte 5 m con capitelli di vario tipo, soffitto decorato ancora in parte visibile, con la parete finestrata. Di fronte il primo pilone costruito da Tolomeo VI, alto 18 m e largo dai 4 a i 5 m, l'insieme è caratteristico del tempio tolemaico-romano come il tempio a Dendera, ma qui è molto più raffinato. Dal portale con a fianco due leoni in granito, costruito da Nectanebo I, si entra nel cortile interno, sul lato ovest dedicato ad Iside il Mammisi, Luogo della Nascita, con il soffitto sostenuto da colonne dai capitelli floreali sopraelevati da capitelli hathorici e muri bassi. Dopo il secondo pilone largo 32 m, alto 12 m dove sulla torre est compare Tolomeo XII offerente ad Horus ed Hathor con alla base una roccia dell'isola lavorata a stele. All'interno 10 colonne nella sala ipostila, poi diverse camere ed il naos con il piedistallo per la barca sacra per il trasporto della statua della dea. Nei pressi del tempio sorge prima del colonnato occidentale il padiglione di Nectanebo I -edificio più antico del complesso templare XXX Dinastia-. Oltre poche decine di metri il tempio di Hathor, costruito da Tolomeo VI, colonne simili alle precedenti, decorato con scene di musica e danza. Infine il chiosco gigantesco -100 d.C.- attribuito a Traiano -zona est- lungo 20 m, largo 15m e alto 16 m, era l'ingresso dell'isola: 14 colonne senza tetto decorato con Traiano, imperatore romano, offerente agli dei. Il complesso monumentale è ora nell'isola di Agilkia in quanto nel secolo scorso vennero costruite due dighe superata la I Cateratta una nel 1900, l'altra nel 1960, con il lago artificiale chiamato Nasser. Sommersa l'isola di File furono salvati negli anni '60 i suoi 14 templi che furono smontati e ricostruiti nellisola vicino Agilkia che fu anche modellata per renderla simile all'originario sito. Quelli che non sono sull'isola sono sempre in Egitto e quattro donati ad Olanda, Spagna, USA, Italia.

Si arriva da Assuan in barca a motore al molo situato a sud dell'isola sbarcando dal lato di accesso del Tempio di Iside, costruito in più fasi dalla XXX Dinastia e nel periodo greco-romano, in un cortile esterno prima dell'ingresso templare: il vestibolo di Nectanebo I, incompleti i templi di Imhotep e del dio nubiano Arensnuphis, poi a sinistra 31 colonne alte 5 m con capitelli di vario tipo, soffitto decorato ancora in parte visibile, con la parete finestrata. Di fronte il primo pilone costruito da Tolomeo VI, alto 18 m e largo dai 4 a i 5 m, l'insieme è caratteristico del tempio tolemaico-romano come il tempio a Dendera, ma qui è molto più raffinato. Dal portale con a fianco due leoni in granito, costruito da Nectanebo I, si entra nel cortile interno, sul lato ovest dedicato ad Iside il Mammisi, Luogo della Nascita, con il soffitto sostenuto da colonne dai capitelli floreali sopraelevati da capitelli hathorici e muri bassi. Dopo il secondo pilone largo 32 m, alto 12 m dove sulla torre est compare Tolomeo XII offerente ad Horus ed Hathor con alla base una roccia dell'isola lavorata a stele. All'interno 10 colonne nella sala ipostila, poi diverse camere ed il naos con il piedistallo per la barca sacra per il trasporto della statua della dea. Nei pressi del tempio sorge prima del colonnato occidentale il padiglione di Nectanebo I -edificio più antico del complesso templare XXX Dinastia-. Oltre poche decine di metri il tempio di Hathor, costruito da Tolomeo VI, colonne simili alle precedenti, decorato con scene di musica e danza. Infine il chiosco gigantesco -100 d.C.- attribuito a Traiano -zona est- lungo 20 m, largo 15m e alto 16 m, era l'ingresso dell'isola: 14 colonne senza tetto decorato con Traiano, imperatore romano, offerente agli dei. Il complesso monumentale è ora nell'isola di Agilkia in quanto nel secolo scorso vennero costruite due dighe superata la I Cateratta una nel 1900, l'altra nel 1960, con il lago artificiale chiamato Nasser. Sommersa l'isola di File furono salvati negli anni '60 i suoi 14 templi che furono smontati e ricostruiti nellisola vicino Agilkia che fu anche modellata per renderla simile all'originario sito. Quelli che non sono sull'isola sono sempre in Egitto e quattro donati ad Olanda, Spagna, USA, Italia. -

Nectanebo II Dream Cast
Nectanebo II (360-342 BC) was the last pharaoh of the Thirteenth Dynasty and the last native ruler of Ancient Egypt. I was amazed how the story of the last native ruler of Ancient Egypt has been overlooked and never entertained ever. Si te tocaba nacer en un periodo intermedio de Egipto es que eras un pringao. Este tercer periodo intermedio y el periodo tardío son una auténtica locura. Casi 600 años de fragmentación, inestabilidad socio-económica y dinastías cayendo una tras otra. Los únicos faraones que se salvan son el libio Sheshonq I, el nubio Piye, Psamético I, que echó a los asirios, Psamético III por haberse enfrentado a Cambises II en la batalla de Pelusio y finalmente a Nectanebo I, que recompuso el país tras tantas invasiones.

Si arriva da Assuan in barca a motore al molo situato a sud dell'isola sbarcando dal lato di accesso del Tempio di Iside, costruito in più fasi dalla XXX Dinastia e nel periodo greco-romano, in un cortile esterno prima dell'ingresso templare: il vestibolo di Nectanebo I, incompleti i templi di Imhotep e del dio nubiano Arensnuphis, poi a sinistra 31 colonne alte 5 m con capitelli di vario tipo, soffitto decorato ancora in parte visibile, con la parete finestrata. Di fronte il primo pilone costruito da Tolomeo VI, alto 18 m e largo dai 4 a i 5 m, l'insieme è caratteristico del tempio tolemaico-romano come il tempio a Dendera, ma qui è molto più raffinato. Dal portale con a fianco due leoni in granito, costruito da Nectanebo I, si entra nel cortile interno, sul lato ovest dedicato ad Iside il Mammisi, Luogo della Nascita, con il soffitto sostenuto da colonne dai capitelli floreali sopraelevati da capitelli hathorici e muri bassi. Dopo il secondo pilone largo 32 m, alto 12 m dove sulla torre est compare Tolomeo XII offerente ad Horus ed Hathor con alla base una roccia dell'isola lavorata a stele. All'interno 10 colonne nella sala ipostila, poi diverse camere ed il naos con il piedistallo per la barca sacra per il trasporto della statua della dea. Nei pressi del tempio sorge prima del colonnato occidentale il padiglione di Nectanebo I -edificio più antico del complesso templare XXX Dinastia-. Oltre poche decine di metri il tempio di Hathor, costruito da Tolomeo VI, colonne simili alle precedenti, decorato con scene di musica e danza. Infine il chiosco gigantesco -100 d.C.- attribuito a Traiano -zona est- lungo 20 m, largo 15m e alto 16 m, era l'ingresso dell'isola: 14 colonne senza tetto decorato con Traiano, imperatore romano, offerente agli dei. Il complesso monumentale è ora nell'isola di Agilkia in quanto nel secolo scorso vennero costruite due dighe superata la I Cateratta una nel 1900, l'altra nel 1960, con il lago artificiale chiamato Nasser. Sommersa l'isola di File furono salvati negli anni '60 i suoi 14 templi che furono smontati e ricostruiti nellisola vicino Agilkia che fu anche modellata per renderla simile all'originario sito. Quelli che non sono sull'isola sono sempre in Egitto e quattro donati ad Olanda, Spagna, USA, Italia.
