Portland-based indie legends Portugal. The Man are currently in the country for a string of free, yes free, shows presented by Corona Extra. It’s not just in capital cities either — the indie rockers have been making their way through regional towns too and they couldn’t be happier about the opportunity to see even more of the country. “They asked us to come here and play 25 free shows, at small bars kind of outside big cities which is very rare for us, to get out and see those kind of things. So we said hell yeah, pretty fast,” explain the band. While they’re on the road showcasing tunes from their Danger Mouse-helmed seventh studio album, Evil Friends, as well as hits from their rich back catalogue, the band say they’ve also been in and out of the studio working on a follow-up, this time with another super-producer in their company. “We’ve been in the studio with Mike D, from the Beastie Boys and just kind of recording whatever we want,” the explain. “Danger Mouse does whatever he wants, Mike D does whatever he wants. We just kind of like, piggyback.” “We haven’t talked to the label about it or anything, we’ve just been in the studio,” they add, confirming that while there’s no official release date yet, the absence of outside pressure means things are looking good.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal says he has now found a position for Juan Mata in his team, and describes the Spaniard's brace in the 2-1 win at Liverpool as "marvellous". Mata slotted home to put United ahead in the first half at Anfield, and after Liverpool had substitute Steven Gerrard sent off in the second half, Mata doubled the visitors' lead with a stunning scissor kick. Daniel Sturridge pulled a goal back for the home side. Man United have won away at Anfield 11 times, more than any other team in Premier League history. Subscribe to VICE News here: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-VICE-News At his compound on the outskirts of Port of Spain, the man responsible for the only attempted militant Islamic overthrow of a Western government is smiling. "I've been charged with treason, I've been charged with sedition, with murder, conspiracy to murder, [stockpiling] guns...." Abu Bakr, the fiery 73-year-old leader of Jamaat al Muslimeen, rattles off the many accusations that the government of Trinidad and Tobago has leveled against him. "Nothing has stuck, because it's fabricated," he continues. "They list all the charges in a book, and they just throw the book at me.... That's not prosecution, that's persecution!" Bakr has mellowed a bit in his old age, but he still relishes the opportunity to serve as a thorn in the side of the government with whom he has clashed for decades. Depending on which local you ask, "The Jamaat" is either a jihadi group, a vast criminal organization, an invaluable community resource providing jobs and social services to Trinidad's disadvantaged, or a combination of all three. But everyone agrees that the coup that Bakr led in 1990 — which held the state hostage for six days, unleashed widespread looting and chaos, and resulted in 24 deaths and the shooting of the prime minister — changed the country forever. Man who shot Usama bin Laden speaks out in exclusive Fox News interview How Robert O'Neill prepared for the bin Laden raid The former Navy SEAL who shot and killed Usama bin Laden told Fox News’ Peter Doocy in an exclusive interview that the elite team who took out the terrorist believed that it was “going to be a one-way mission," but it would be "worth it to kill him." In part one of “The Man Who Killed Usama bin Laden," Rob O’Neill described how he went from a kid growing up in Butte, Montana to become the highly-trained SEAL who pulled the trigger in the famous mission at bin Laden's compound in Pakistan in 2011. O'Neill, who rose up in the ranks to become a member of the Navy's elite SEAL Team 6, had previously been a part of missions such as the rescue of the crew of the Maersk Alabama from Somali pirates, which was depicted in the movie "Captain Phillips." He described to Doocy how he discovered he was embarking on the mission to kill bin Laden. They told us a couple of things like we’re going to read you in eventually and here’s whose going to be there…and they said a few names that didn’t make sense,” O’Neill said. “A few of us were talking a couple days later about this person, this person why would they be there… It’s bin Laden…they found him…we’re going to go get him.” O’Neill said he and the other SEALs did not think they would survive the mission. “The more we trained on it, the more we realized…this is going to be a one-way mission,” he said. “We’re going to go and we’re not going to come back. We’re going to die when the house blows up. We’re going to die when he blows up. Or we are going to be there too long and we’ll get arrested by the Pakistanis and we’re going to spend the rest of our short lives in Pakistan prison.” Despite the risks, O'Neill said he did not hope that President Obama would choose another tactic to take out bin Laden, and he even pushed to become a part of the group that landed on the roof of the compound. He said that the soldiers felt that the mission would be worth sacrificing their own lives, saying "we are going to die eventually, this is a good way to go and it's worth it to kill him. He's going to die with us." To be part of something so historic, you can't ask for more...we wanted it bad," he said. "It's it. It doesn’t get any better. This is it this is why we're here. We are at war because of this guy and now we are going to go get him." O'Neill said he believes he was "definitely" the last person bin Laden saw before he died, and he has thought about the mission every day in the years since it happened. "I’m still trying to figure out if it’s the best thing I’ve ever done or the worst thing I’ve ever done," he said. noodls 2015-04-03"The Man" is a slang phrase that may refer to the government or to some other authority in a position of power. In addition to this derogatory connotation, it may also serve as a term of respect and praise.
The phrase "the Man is keeping me down" is commonly used to describe oppression. The phrase "stick it to the Man" encourages resistance to authority, and essentially means "fight back" or "resist", either openly or via sabotage.
The earliest recorded use[citation needed] of the term "the Man" in the American sense dates back to a letter written by a young Alexander Hamilton in September 1772, when he was 15. In a letter to his father James Hamilton, published in the Royal Dutch-American Gazette, he described the response of the Dutch governor of St. Croix to a hurricane that raked that island on August 31, 1772. "Our General has issued several very salutary and humane regulations and both in his publick and private measures, has shewn himself the Man." [dubious – discuss] In the Southern U.S. states, the phrase came to be applied to any man or any group in a position of authority, or to authority in the abstract. From about the 1950s the phrase was also an underworld code word for police, the warden of a prison or other law enforcement or penal authorities.
Lenroy Thompson (born 1988, in Uniondale, New York) is an American amateur boxer best known to win the US title in 2008 and 2010 and the Golden Gloves 2009 at super heavyweight. He is considered a serious contenter for the London Olympics in 2012 and frequently fights in pink to show his commitment to and involvement with the Breast Cancer Awareness Program.
Southpaw counterpuncher Thompson started boxing to lose weight in 2005. A few months later he moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida where he continued to box for Fort Pierce P.A.L. and win 18 consecutive matches in the super heavyweight class.
At the U.S. Championships 2007: he dec. Lucas Runion, College Park, Md., 11-7; won on disqualification over Frank Pojsl, Honolulu, Hawaii, DQ-4; dec. Andrew Shepherd, Ft. Carson, Colo., 19-12, in quarterfinals and lost to eventual winner Michael Hunter, Las Vegas, Nev., 12-17 in semifinals.
He qualified for the Olympic Trials, where he lost to Kimdo Bethel 9-10, stopped Josh Parson 1:17 into the first round, and eventually lost a rematch with Andrew Shepherd (who he had beaten at the U.S Men's) 8-8 draw (raw score 17-18).
I left my home but I lost my way.
And I never stopped, no I never strayed.
Cause I tricked myself into carrying on.
But I was only doing what I thought that I should!
I won't look back,
Don't look back.
I broke a miroeck of romance.
To find myself in circumstance.
Beyond control beyond context.
She was only doing what she thought was best!
Don't look back,
Don't look back,
Don't look back.
But to fall in love,
Could it ever be enough,
Save the past from catching up,
Not to risk what you have in line.
To give it away, cause the kind can be cruel,
When the weight is all on you,
To move to the tight,
To move to the left,
To do what you think is best.
Don't look back,
Don't look back,
Don't look back,
Don't look back,
Don't look back,
Amongst the stone and smoke
We never laid before
Images floating all about
Life in the after glow
My decaying mind pretends
None of this ever happened
We either learn to live a lie
Or we're waiting here to die
And after all this suffering
I could lie here for good
With a mind on fire
I try and stand my ground
Illuminate and I will follow...
Amongst the stone and smoke
Rising above it all
Broken, but not beyond repair
See how this soul fairs
From after all this suffering
I could lie here for good
But with a mind on fire
I try and stand my ground
Illuminate and I will follow...
[I will follow you]
A kiss from your lips onto my redden cheek
Is welcomed like a train wreck
I bow my head and bring it to my knees instead of grazing
How about another time
How about another time
Cant you just see that you can never be satisfied
Until you try to satisfy
The feeling of bliss is welcomed when im weak
Yet bliss is bitter sweet
Until you can find someone who understands
The weakness that you feel
How about another time
How about another time
Cant you just see that you can never be satisfied
Until you try to satisfy
Cause you can never be satisfied
Come away young man
Where the ground is red
And you'll need a mask to breath
Oh it's been so hard
But your luck could change
If ya just roll up your sleeves
Its ironic how I fall just to get back up again
I fixed to cure this ailing bitter agony
Maybe where the roads part you remember where we first met
So tongue and cheek with stale irony, if it pleases you it pleases me
Just an innocent call a telephone call
Just an innocent call
Now if you were in bloom I'd pluck your petals clean
Although I don't seem low I can promise you my egos running me
Then I'd be called you were the only one that didn't fold
But I just broke right down for you in an attempt to gain control
Maybe I'm a waste of time
You were born with the sun
And oh,
You will die with the moon
And everything you thought you had you lost
But now you'd never lose what you don't have
Prayers from above
Never answered quite enough
Now the only one you have is you
With this cruel bitter heart
You were cold and in love
Left her naked in the sun
Run scared from this cruel bitter world
This has only begun
As the bombs are bursting off
Smoke arose
On azimuth glares
Bodies brewed
In frigid winter air
Where family's sons
Are robbed beneath their feet
And hearts conceded
"Ab ovo" The angel sings
"Ad astra"our eyes to the sea
And we thought that we had
A cause for suffering
And reason enough to die alone
Oh but,
You,
With this cruel bitter heart
You were cold and in love
Left her naked in the sun
Run scared from this cruel bitter world
This has only begun
As the bombs are bursting off
With our feet beneath us
With our hands to the sky
We extend our limbs
Begging "Why, oh why?"
Don't turn away
Prayers from above
Never answered quite enough
Looking up
Never offered you too much
Salt in the sky in the sweet summer air while mammoths
depart
Abandon dispair with thirsty affairs of the heart
But the chances of escaping my heart are inadequate,
and when all is said and done I'm left with my history
Goodbye, my eyes shed heavy tears
One for every soul still sitting on the fence between
pain and arrogance
Ebb to the left flow to the right
The exit's unflawed
The boys on the train
The almighty tongue with prose spilled in vain
Goodbye, my eyes shed heavy tears
One for every soul still sitting on the fence between
pain and arrogance
We fall beneath the sea of dreams and fail to breathe
until we resurface
We fall beneath the sea of dreams and fail to breathe
until we awaken again
Sing softly sing me to the lake
Sing softly bring me to the lake
Through all of this I've felt just the same
One foot, then the other
Such embarrassment
It wasn't meant that
I, I should discover
Such offensive things
The suffering since
(Hoped to the ground?)
But I really never had enough
They've got pride in him
This tide turns lives over
A back-town prophecy
Adorned in stony skin
We never ever [never ever]
Ever had to like to move ahead
But here in oblivion
We cling to what we can
So in the end [in the end]
We can say that with these hands
We took it all back
It all back
So let us force a smile
And pretend that we're alive
Oh, but somewhere
None of this happened
The bullets removed themselves
Life is beautiful
I have a home above the lake where I could
Forget the words to the songs that we've heard
The passages read all the names in a world
That have brought us this pain
From the wounds we've sustained
A cold calloused heart
Sitting still in this cave of a chest
So abandon a life from before
(Shrouded) criminal and in the fade of my
(We must let words go)
Shadow, they're oblivious
With plans around
(we want)
Who can save us now?
Love seems barren when cash is king
Wealthy for the bleeding, what good will bring
More than I could ask from those who sleep
A crooked mind and honest heart can still agree
Make em' right
Cheating innocence
I've got the time to breathe
Tonight
Got time, got time.
Awoke alone, put on my coat, ran for the door
Down the stairs, and made it to the second floor
Stopped by the squeaky wheel, a smiling swine
Stunned by the sight and fearing whats behind
"Hey there" he pleasantly began
"Good day" he telescoped his hand
"Is there a service I can possibly propose?"
"Ms leading seems to me to be a proper butterfly"
"Then I suggest you pack your bags and learn to drive!"
Tucked in my shirt, and finally made my way outside
He broke the scene, a Machiavellian dandelion
Blissfully plucked from the bloom of another
But all the while (all the while)
She was still fresh in my mind (she's stuck in my mind)
And though this might be premature (ooh oh)
But ambition strikes me when the mood is right (the mood is right)
Eight wheels lusting for the lives of infantry
(His bearings shift)
His turrets turning from accountability
(He takes his aim)
"We sing our final song and soon this verse is over."
He makes advances till his wheels cease to roll.
His God is smiling on his cold mechanic soul.
"His plot is perfect if it sees no contradiction."
There is no sign that he shows a sign of slowing.
You've stained your skin and I won't stick around
long enough to count the hearts that hit the ground.
So long ago...was I one of them?
Your urgency hastened by his ingenuity
It's just a matter of moments til your body is debris
"So say a prayer"
"His plot is perfect if it sees no contradiction."
You've stained your skin and I won't stick around
long enough to count the hearts that hit the ground.
So long ago...was I one of them?
And still he moves on
arm and iron conquer heart and soul.
and what of those in silent disconnect
sundry souls akin in consequence
begging for bliss beyond the pain
The blood, how it paints such a scene.
Foul routine pedigree, mouth agape, stuttered hands attempt to flail, and finally agree.
Her heart ceases its rhythm... somewhere trumpets decay.
In the front by the well, wishing wishes that deny the stale smell in the hay.
Hey there, no one cry.
Place these over her eyes.
We are broke and alone... we're all broken alone.
(She's inanimate, bloodless elegance)
Fatal fascination breeds a bloom of misery
(Helpless hiding tongues bathed in revulsion)
Here lies unfinished beauty wilting premature
But we can't be too sure, no you can't be too sure
Reserved; always playing the part of the boy left alone.
He proceeds to the road beyond the home he learned to call his own.
(She's inanimate, bloodless elegance)
Fatal fascination breeds a bloom of misery
(Helpless hiding tongues bathed in revulsion)
Here lies unfinished beauty wilting premature
But we can't be too sure, no you can't be too sure
one life for another...
(She's inanimate, bloodless elegance)
Fatal fascination breeds a bloom of misery
(Helpless hiding tongues bathed in revulsion)
Here lies unfinished beauty wilting premature
The seed of the apothecary
An heir to aided ends
She loves the sound they make
As they expel
A breath
The soul from the chest
She laughs a little
But never makes a sound
She swears she's offering you something savory
So take a drink of product number one
And now it seems a smooth intoxication
Well, just one drop is more than enough
She never dwells on penitence
Advancing in a haze
Besides the fast of incompetence
She laughs a little
But never smiles
She swears she's offering you something savory
So take a drink of product number one
And now it seems a smooth intoxication
Well, just one drop is more than enough
She has her superstitions
They've got their rationale on call
[They never saw it coming, they never stood a chance]
Shes got a new tradition
Involving ethylene glycol
[They never saw it coming, they never stood a chance]
She has no apprehension
Habit sustains her wickedness
[They never saw it coming, they never stood a chance]
With the weight of the world
On her shoulders
She don't want none
Of the sins
As they unfurl
In her palms,
In her palms
[x2]
Take this bottle
(Take me to the river)
The pimp and the priest pounce on quickened cats feet
for the freshest young blood innocence for the feast
the book will then brew what the sinful commit
while the pimp and the priest prey quietly where the precious sinners sit
confess, oh! confess... in the chapel or brothel where we suffocate stress. we've got the time if you've got the scratch (we'll conquer your sins while she screams on her back.)
faster, save me! (how the sins remain hostage.) Harder I can't breathe
Now the priest and the pimp are already equipped
with an enigmatic frontage posts "we welcome walk-ins"
So we corner our pace and make quick for the door
to be pardoned and passed from the bed to the floor.
Stick with us, throw your morals out the door
You aren't in the land of the river and the lake no more
Makeshift schemes, we've got plenty here for you
Lock away your dreams and throw away the key
You've been stuck in the middle of patience and animosity
With a lust for solidity, and a cryptic history your lucks running thin
Crimson hands, brandish words which masquerade
If you flee from grace your souls can not be saved
This scene shifts, exits illustrate the flood
Don't be ashamed of your unlawful flaw
When the bombs go off you'll know right where you are
You've been stuck in the middle of patience and animosity
With a lust for solidity, and a cryptic history your lucks running thin
You've been stuck in the middle of patience and animosity
Ms. Leading you taught me what I didn’t need to know
How did you mark the occasion a silver stamp across your thigh
How many men have their hands on your skirt?
in an attempt to salvage self respect you simply could have slapped their wrists
How many times did you let yourself go?
Think back a couple weeks a couple months just how longs this been going on?
Hold on now, don’t tell me, pretend this didn’t happen
my my lust for ignorance but I lust for you
You were the only one that didn’t fold
It's in you my dear ?
I attempt to turn light on the situation that’s so dim
How many dresses were over your face
In an attempt to make a life worthwhile you could have stopped it years ago
How many times did you let yourself go
Think back a couple weeks a couple months just how longs this been going on?
Hold on now don’t tell me, prentend this never happened
Now my lust for ignorance like I lust for you
Everything you'd live and die for
Reasons leading you through here
Perished matriarchal bonds
Failing innocence of love
When the world beckons your approach
It swallows you whole
You'll believe what you're led to believe
In the hands of ghosts we're never responsible
Wait to see what you're meant to see
The veil lifts when you expose your soul
Pray'd I would leave this place someday
Joined to alarm from long ago now unconcerned
Euphorically floating upon wax wings where is the sun?
I still see her face; her beauty her grace
Transfixed like a light in front of me
It follows my soul
And swallows me whole
You'll believe what you're led to believe
In the hands of ghosts we're never responsible
Wait to see what you're meant to see
The veil lifts when you expose your soul
Left, right, left, right...
His branches reached so far before
His leaves were bold extremities with great control
Wasted along; he died alone
You'll believe what you're led to believe
In the hands of ghosts we're never responsible
Wait to see what you're meant to see
The veil lifts when you expose your soul
But the right hand hates the left and the sea's upset with the sky
So we press on in spite of the spite
Happiness is a knife when the worlds on its side and your minds on fire
Trying to find the trouble with the trouble I've found
Begging my god to make the wheels go round
Eat so much but I never get full
A hope removed, a life resumed right here. And the Priest and the Rosary, the buck and the bond between me and me has long since broken. A boy who's grown, too short to see, a tale unfolds, too tall to see. A life once lived behind closed doors, the irony of a pensive heart.
Touch, taste, feel it ripping me down. A reprise, two times, that time, burn it to the ground.
The inquiry of Ms. Terri, the expiry of misery, the table turns, the sun long, the river bed, and he's alone. The object of affection, conflicted by convictions of indecency, sorority, corrupted by impropriety. The cavalier, she holds of him, in dissonance with experience, a boy who grows, with knife in hand, to fend for her, becomes a man. But she plays fake affection, and carefully lacks subjection, to a gentleman (processed?) twisted desires.
Touch, taste, feel it ripping me down. A reprise, two times, that time, burn it to the ground.
She prays to the man with the twin in the mask
But the world is numb and cold
And the boy, all alone, casually wandering home, unaware of sobering reality
Faster, save me. Harder, I can't...
(Breathe in, breathe out)
Let them all fold, let them all fold
(Breathe in, breathe out)
Let them all fold, let them all fold
Hearts finish here, love decays while call girls perform
He waits alone, playing parts to soothe lovers through
The lust and its size, the church and the dime
The cryptic clientele all careening inside
They're puzzling for substance pure from the divine
(Breathe in, breathe out)
Let them all fold, let them all fold
(Breathe in, breathe out)
Let them all fold, let them all fold
Yeah!!!
Many wishes of hunger will rot by the pimp and priests thirst for a fault
All the anger from a lovers' lament
Force fed in the stomach of sin
She had the summer's smile with winter's skin; she moved
A silloutte to serenade the soul
She spoke with words beyond me and slowly i pulled away to receive a gesture implying an answer i didnt have
So I then smiled
Responding alarming "Yes"
Her hands were the first that id ever felt; she breated
Her lips hid her tongue from the world; she danced
To the doors, endearing, she carried me
"What's your name?" conceding "Ms. Leading"
She kindly suggests
To her room
To rest my head
So i smiled responding unalarming "yes"
Where's her heart?
Mimicking the matriarch...
He's naive; blissfully ignorant and
Trusting but now?
Step right in. Let her hips guide your desire
Hey kid get a job
The have ways to satisfy what you require
Touch, taste, feel
Two times, the dime
But the perks are more than price and the guarantee is clean
We know what the men all want and they know it isnt free
Her history is left behind
The ignorance has room to breathe
They'll play a part and act a scene
The prejudice and the guilty...
Take a chair, youre not alone
The beds your home tonight
Hey kid get a job
Wait right there
Well magnify and maximize your inner fire
Touch, taste, feel
Two times, the dime
Cause if you boys are nice, the ladies here are clean
We know what the men all want
And they know it isnt free
Her history is left behind
The ignorance has room to breathe
They'll play a part and act a scene
Darkness, hesitation
I fell into her arms
Breathe in, this is amazing
Breathe out, this is amazing
She removed her clothes and all of the world shined
Now that we're alone all of the world shines
First hot breath, then cold hands
Intrusion, but aware
The Fire inside was all light and she bloomed
And i never knew life could ever be this good
The distant sighs, the clothes on the floor
The bedding a mess, she sings for more
We fall beneath the sea in the back of our hearts and fail to breathe until we resurface again
She had the summer's smile with winter's skin
And all along with words beyond me she welcomed me in
We lay aligned
And move to disguise
With a soul below
Only the eyes above
Slowly and silently
Slip away
Sleep now in the soil
The dust in the debris
A stolen smoke !ascends!
Leaving the shell to atrophy
Meet with the earth
As the sober spirit sings
Leave, leave it behind
This truth is harming you?
Leave, leave it behind
Set out and start anew
Your life hereafter
Will cure all your troubles
And recast a history
Even if you never strayed from me
I'd question your fidelity
There'd always be a shroud of suspicion
And my heart's a liability
With your hands marooned so freshly red
You'd wrap your lips around my neck
Try and forced to love the thought of me
Simple motions make me ill
Was it bitter when you tossed and turned
On an under covered mattress did it feel so good hope it felt so good
Don't know what I'd do if you lost sleep over little old me
It's so much better, they're all much better
Take off your sweater, your shoes, and your shirt and get to work
Maybe this is just a work of art
Scripted players in a play of lust
Hope the endings well worth waiting for
And everything you wished it be
Was it bitter when you tossed and turned
On an under covered mattress did it feel so good hope it felt so good
Don't know what I'd do if you lost sleep over little old me
It's so much better, you're all much better
Take off your sweater, your shoes, and your shirt and get to work
Oh my god what have I done?
Now my darling put your clothes back on
Oh my god what have I done?
Now my darling put your clothes back on
'Cause you can't be caught red-handed
If you're not red-handed
My darling if I ever said those words to you
I was pulling out my heart so I could pin it to my sleeve
A display for you to see, I'm on display
'Cause you can't be caught red-handed
If you're not red-handed
My darling I would never say those words to you
I was pulling out my heart so I could pin it to my sleeve
A display for you to see, I'm on display
Oh my god what have I done?
Now my darling put your clothes back on
Oh my god what have I done?
Now my darling put your clothes back on
Now my darling put your clothes back on
'Cause you cant be caught red-handed if your not red-handed
My darling I would never say those words to you
I was pulling out my heart so I could pin it to my sleeve
A display for you to see, I'm on display
Oh my god what have I done?
Here they are
The wicked
A panic floods the field
Deliver it
Unthinkable
They play the part performing oh so well
With empty cause, they carry on
A twisted soul
An apparition
Born of a beastly brand
They butcher purposely
Scream at the sky and beg.
Beg for a reason he would allow this
Look to the sky and say
We would be better off without this
Who would allow this?
We've never felt alive
But none of us can die just when we want to
We're stuck in this disguise
With leather skin these eyes decide to haunt you
[Haunt you]
But dare we haunt you?
Scream at the sky and beg
Beg for a reason he would allow this
Look to the sky and say
We would be better off without this
Who would allow this?
From the other side
When we dance it looks just like fire.
When we sing it sounds the same tone.
We all have hearts, We all have homes.
But when we die, We die, Alone.
Oh What a mess, as everything Descends
Oh what a mess, But everything amends
Such it was, so long ago.
We always tired but failed.
And now with new found consciousness.
(wasted and waiting)
(waiting to die)
Oh What a mess, As everything Descends.
Oh what a mess, But everything Amends.
One of these days he will learn to love again. 6 times
One of these days you will learn to love again.
One of these days you will learn.
When we dance it looks just like fire.
When we sing it sounds the same tone.
We all have hearts. We all have homes.
But when we die, We die, Alone.
We're biting our tongues
An apparition Awoken with an urge to own and Occupy.
(Who ever said this was easy?)
A majesty's massacre floods the fields of red,
Blood to your body naturally rushes the blood to your head.
(to your head)
And now With our heads aligned, These arms move tonight.
And we cry. We can not allow this, This is terrible.
With ideals we're idle as they lust for more.
If we settle the score.
We've never been so excited to see you before.
In the cradle we're helpless, but on our feet we
are fatal. How we evolve and grow into
twisted beasts with desire for disorder.
Oh! What a terrible,
terrible game we play
Replacing a pawn for a body
and the players; politicians
who say what they need to say.
Now with hands aligned, arms move
tonight. Here with abrasive eyes, pain in
plain sight.
And we cry. We can not allow this, This is terrible.
With ideals we're idle as they lust for more.
When we settle the score.
We've never been so excited to see you before.
Oh, when i think about your Eyes
oh, when i think about your Smile
oh, when i Dream about your Eyes
A long walk home, riddled with regret
Uncommonly comfortable, but still I believe
That in time I think I'll see just what's been weighing down on me
An unearthy void collapsed, exposing what was trapped
To release this serendipitous discern
The smell of smoke, the evening sky was proof
Belated conversation saturate anticipation for the answers that simply won't come
But not I, I won't ask
Forget my place amongst the grass
The leaves and the trees remember me
ANd in my naivety it might be seen
the pale has leaks and even if
you put all your water into it
you end up with nothing left to drink
The well has gone dry and I with it
Oh, someday she'll be gone (x4)
(We'll still have a song to sing)
Sing softly, bring me to the lake
There was a silver circle sign
And she was standing at the door
We pressed our way right through the crowd
Our pace was quickened to her floor
There was a single fading light
And there was silk all on the wall
She had a lot of love to give
I was prepared to take it all
[But what did she do next?]
She had disrobed
And she was waiting on the floor
She asked me what it was I want
I thought that I wanted it all
[What did you say?]
I said "stand up and move your body to the bed"
She quickly stood and slowly turned
And here's exactly what she said
"Please be soft and sweet to me,
This life has not been good you see.
It's hard with such a history
Buried in misery."
[And what did you do next?]
I broke a smile reminding that I paid her well
Her lips returned
And then I felt her hands
Unbuckling my belt
[So was it good?]
Oh, it felt like heaven
But I'm sure she was in hell
I made it clear I'd get my moneys worth
Out of the good she sells
Break and bind yourself to me
Deliver what you sold
You see that I will only take from you
And use it up
I'll use you up
What was your name?
Break and bind yourself to me
Deliver what you sold
You see that I will only take from you
To use it up
I'll use you up
When are you gonna come down
When are you going to land
I should have stayed on the farm
I should have listened to my old man
You know you can't hold me forever
I didn't sign up with you
I'm not a present for your friends to open
This boy's too young to be singing the blues
So goodbye yellow brick road
Where the dogs of society howl
You can't plant me in your penthouse
I'm going back to my plough
Back to the howling old owl in the woods
Hunting the horny back toad
Oh I've finally decided my future lies
Beyond the yellow brick road
What do you think you'll do then
I bet that'll shoot down your plane
It'll take you a couple of vodka and tonics
To set you on your feet again
Maybe you'll get a replacement
There's plenty like me to be found
Mongrels who ain't got a penny
Go get your gun
Get your gun
And lets find out what it does
Shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot
We have been (warring?)
And If we win
And if the morning light sets in
We've cheated fate again
And to those who die
Please try to understand
That for those who die
We tried the best we can
With our one foot in the grave
While the other one's kickin' its way
Right down to hell
Go get your gun
Get your gun
Imposing penance one by one
You've got a virtue in a vice
It forces fate (your taking lives?)
With all the history to guide
You've got a passion in those eyes
So aim it straight and true
And to those who'll die
Please try to understand
That for those who die
We've tried the best we can
With our one foot in the grave
While the other one's kickin' its way
Right down to hell
Now,
When this is over
Then,
We'll raise a glass
Straight up to the sun
With our one foot in the grave
While the other one's kickin' its way
Right down to hell
Go get your gun
Get your gun
And lets find out what it does
Shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot
We have been (warring?)
And If we win
And if the morning light sets in
We've cheated fate again
And to those who die
Please try to understand
That for those who die
We tried the best we can
With our one foot in the grave
While the other one's kickin' its way
And what of the father.
Will he end the lies.
And what about the mother.
Will she, Discover the truth behind this life We're living.
Now everything we ever had is here for us.
Now everything we ever had is here for us.
Don't worry about the Father.
You'll take him ?
And as for the mother.
She always loved her son.
I have been evicted
From a soul constricted.
By the flameless fire...
Can we all just go cold?
If you need a little cash, you sell yourself to everything;
A dollar in exchange for failing hearts so loudly sang:
"Oh how I surely know the frame of mind, soothing softly curbside;
Comfortably abroad on a stolen ticket.
None of this will last, all of this will pass,
When bedsheets are broken glass.
I know your hearts will skip a beat, in empathy."
If you need a little cash, you sell yourself to everything;
A dollar in exchange for failing hearts so loudly sang:
"Oh how I surely now the frame of mind, sleeping softly curbside
Comfortably abroad on a stolen ticket.
None of this will last, all of this will pass,
When bedsheets are broken glass.
I know your hearts will skip a beat in empathy."
It's just that easy, pick yourself up, and go give the world a great big smile!!!
(Hey! Hey, hey kid get a job! Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey kid get a job!)
Wash that mouth out, ditch those morals, sleep your way right to, right to the top!!!
Your words they tell like teeth through the rotten show
You say the moneys on the table
The moneys on the table
Well I don't think I'll be able to fetch the cash this time
No this time I think I'll walk away
Then I just might to be able I might be able
Think I might be able to respect myself this time
Because its part of me its economics
I do it well enough to get by I don't even have to try
Its not my whole life you are buying with every copper coin
No my friend I'm not for sale anymore
No this time I think I'll walk away
Then I just might to be able I might be able
Think I might be able to respect myself this time
Because its part of me its economics
I do it well enough to get by I don't even have to try
Its not my whole life you are buying with every copper coin
Dear Ms. Leading I hate to tell you that I no longer need your services
A bitter fabricating manufacturer of lust
You have been presented as
It doesn't do a thing for me, I now know your identity
A black widow who temps the gray with promises of love
If ignorance is bliss ,wish I was blissfully ignorant
But I'm not, I'm enlightened now light has been presented to me
In spite of...
You know Ms. Leading I regret to inform you
I've fallen out of lust
It must be so hard to understand
Hell no I don't think so, hell no I don't think so
Did you really think me a fool enough to play along?
And make believing everything you said was true
Push your battering lips on another unsuspecting men
Hell no I don't think so, hell no I don't think so
Dear Ms. Leading in response to your response
I'm simply unavailable
I hope you got the message in the message that I sent
Shame on me for falling for someone so dense
In different times I'd might of played along to something warm, something with security
As fleeting as momentary rapture and the pleasure of collapsing in arms
So welcoming to others just like me
You know Ms. Leading I regret to inform you
I've fallen out of lust
It must be so hard to understand
Hell no I don't think so, hell no I don't think so
Did you really think me a fool enough to play along?
And make believing everything you said was true
Push your battering lips on another unsuspecting man
Please, what happened to the flame?
(It burned down the sides)
With a fondness for cooking history, revealing thoughts of Ms Terri.
In the heat of the night, a woman wealthy of a parous plight erased a harlots life.
Plagued by practical and a mercenary lust they tear at her skin
(The trouble began, it would never end)
Clawing at her throat with a smell of desperate and a lack of regret
(The trouble began, it would never end)
Free, pardoned by the flame.
(That burned down the sides)
Her feet began to bleed between the seams, but she persisted to the streets.
In the heat of the night, the river rendered the chance she surely needs to stay alive.
Plagued by practical and a mercenary lust they tear at her skin
(The trouble began, it would never end)
Clawing at her throat with a smell of desperate and a lack of regret
(The trouble began, it would never end)
Oh, but her breath escapes her.
Oh, but the pulse remains.
Oh, but her breath escapes her.
Oh, but her pulse remains.
Places, People, the stage is set
(X2)
Plagued by practical and a mercenary lust they tear at her skin
(The trouble began, it would never end)
Clawing at her throat with a smell of desperate and a lack of regret
(The trouble began, it would never end)
Oh camera, take your pictures of the scene
Oh camera, take your eyes off of me
Cause I know I'll be forgotten in time yes I know I'll be in time
Just like I was, oh camera
Oh camera, take your pictures of the scene
Oh camera, take your eyes off of me
Cause I know I'll be forgotten in time yes I know I'll be in time
Just like I was, oh camera
Light reflect onto the lens refract onto our eyes
Mirror flip and flip again project 1/8th the size
Plastic retina, what do you see?
Light reflect onto the lens refract onto our eyes
Mirror flip and flip again project 1/8th the size
Plastic retina, what do you see?
Oh camera, take your pictures of the scene
Oh camera, take your eyes off of me
Cause I know I'll be forgotten in time
Yes I know I'll be in time
Just like I was, oh camera
Oh camera, take your pictures of the scene
Oh camera, take your eyes off of me
Cause I know, I'll be forgotten in time
Yes I know I'll be in time
Dance, dance your decay all the while, unknowing youre led astray
Sleep, sleep through your woe while your voice slowly withers and melts away
Sing unto me the pleasure and pain
Reveal to me the reasons my loves not in vain
Sangre, sangre de la rosa
Sige en paz sin el pasado
Rese, rese por su alma
Ellamurira en el bautismo de el fuego
Sing unto me the pleasure and pain
Reveal to me the reasons my loves not in vain
The world burns but still we breathe...
Messages from broken bottles fall
On black sandy beaches
Ink conveyed across the page now run from morning dew
Hands which chance upon it lead to eyes that strain to read
Hearts that pound from love long overdue
Lips which press together, stifle, rhythmic, heavy breaths
Oh how she smiles from vicarious love from the one he writes about
She must have been so glad for him to throw it out
Further steps lead to yet another broken bottle
Again the words contained have bled the page
Whose tears were these which ran the ink?
From who'd they pour to make this streak?
Where they his by chance from telling her?
Or hers by chance from reading it?
They could have been collective
They could have been from someone else
Why don't we see what's at the bottom
Why don't we see what comes next
Oh how she cries from vicarious pain from the one he writes about
Oh she must have been so sad for him to throw her out
Lets just say, she, she is better
Better off somehow
Lets just say, she, she has never been happier then she is now
We couldn't fake it so why even try?
Lets just say, she, she is better, better off somehow
Lets just say, she, she has never been happier then she is now
Lets just say, she, she is better, better off somehow
Lets just say, she, she has never been happier
Believe you me the price is clear
A child born the mother near
To death and life as hand in hand
A failed life exposed the man
Who led her off into the flame
To cast her back to hell again
But hear you me the break of dawn
Will wash away the sins thereof
Unto the lake beyond the tree
The child waits alone is he
The flame is gone the fire remains
The flame is gone the fire remains
The flame is gone the fire remains
The flame is gone the fire remains
The flame is gone the fire remains
We've got a way we got away and survived
Stunned by the shock and fearing what's behind
Everything you thought you'd live and die for
Every reason leading you to hear all the sounds
That trickle past you introspective ear
An attempt to discover what's behind
Branches twisting reaching for the sky
Hands extending reaching for the...
Fell in another hole
(For the knife, for the knife)
Loss of control
(For the knife, for the knife)
I'm in another hole
(For the knife, for the knife)
Bleed myself dry
(Save my life, save my life)
The river
The lake...
Fell in another hole
(For the knife, for the knife)
Loss of control
(For the knife, for the knife)
I'm in another hole
(For the knife, for the knife)
Bleed myself dry
(Save my life, save my life)
Hands conflicting clearly point their way
Stunned by the sign and fearing what they say
Everything you thought you'd live and die for
Every reason leading you to hear all the sounds
That trickle past you introspective ear
An attempt to discover what's behind
Fell in another hole
(For the knife, for the knife)
Loss of control
(For the knife, for the knife)
I'm in another hole
(For the knife, for the knife)
Bleed myself dry
(Save my life, save my life)
Fell in another hole
(For the knife, for the knife)
Loss of control
(For the knife, for the knife)
I'm in another hole
(For the knife, for the knife)
Bleed myself dry
(Save my life, save my life)
Fell in another hole
(For the knife, for the knife)
Loss of control
Somewhere I was lost.
Off but not all gone.
Gave me
Nothing of God.
Come here mister, take in no love,
Even if it canvases so.
When the blind eye never liked
What the wide eye never sees.
Here I lie
The same I fell at first.
Give me anything but apathy or love and curse.
Waiting for my soul
To wake and come alive again.
Can I not torment this
With a canon of assisted duress.
Here I lie
The same I fell at first.
Give me anything but apathy or love and curse.
Waiting for my soul to stir
And wake, rejoice, and come alive again.
Here I go
The same I fell at first.
Give me anything but apathy or love and curse.
Waiting for my soul
You say you're lonely,
I'm lonely too.
You say you need me,
I need you.
With all the false prophets,
you deserve a chance to speak.
Got a problem and I'll solve it,
and erase this suffering.
Won't you swoop down,
and catch another mouse;
Why don't you swoop down,
to catch another mouse
for me?
Do you really want to be helpless,
with your hands behind your back?
Waiting idle for a blessing,
or until complete collapse?
Will you swoop down,
and catch another mouse;
Oh won't you swoop down,
to catch another mouse;
Why don't you swoop down,
to catch another mouse
Your heart is open but your eyes stay closed enough to keep actuality away
In such impressive motion you cast a careless hand to the air
Give me something to hope for.
And the only thing that brings me back is love.
Your mind is open but your mouth stays closed
Enough to keep painful words from falling out
With every ounce of passion I speak till my lungs both billow out
I'll give you something to hope for.
The soft unsettled quiet from a million questions never answered (Oh)
Expecting conversational return more akin to diapason (Oh)
Hope for reason fades away, a hint of heartache in it's place
Gone is the time when I could survive nursing on a sweet naivete
Waiting for you.
But I'll still hold on hope, as frail as the evening's ghostly gloam (Oh)
Staring till' the stars align
Gone is the time when I could survive nursing on a sweet naivete
Waiting for you.
And still we stand here praying, for something more divine
Our hands clasped so tightly, but our eyes are closed and shy
We move along when there's nothing left for us
Son, you never really have to show
Lovers what they don't really need to know.
I favor sincerity,
But somewhere it just occurred to me
That you've got more to gain from a lie.
Yeah, you've got less to lose if you deny
The simple truth ringing in my ear, begging to be let out,
So let me down.
Lovers, why do we seek security
Stuck in the rhythm of the weak?
I found ways to pacify before,
But I, for one, am craving something more,
So I'll keep running back, begging to be let down.
But every time you give in,
You sell yourself and cycle back again.
We all want to know,
Will these words hold?
But every time you're giving in,
You had them fooled,
And I'll admit you had me too,
But you're awfully chique,
To act so clean, I...
Can sense a shake,
An oscillation
Your voice,
The closet's full,
But the door's swinging open,
Shame.
That you couldn't suffer the blame,
Cause now it's the only way
That you could find the fix, to mend.
It's the art of deceit,
With elegance you plead,
And captivate,
And never was there doubt in my eye.
With the silent sound,
I see you were standing still in a silent calm,
With curtains drawn,
Cursing at the light,
Shame.
That you couldn't suffer the blame,
Cause now it's the only way,
That you could find the fix the nightmare
Shame.
That wouldn't suffer the blame
You know it's the only way
That you could find the fix to
Mend these lies.
You now leaving anything back in this world for us
So don't go taking anything back from this world but,
Shame
That you couldn't suffer the blame
Cause now it's the only way
That you could find the fix to mend,
There's shadows on the walls
Of moments far too troubling to recall
All the settings and the scenes
That signal suffering
Impassioned pleas that ended in a whisper
In all the lessons learned,
Were they worth the ash from all the bridges burned?
Standing, stomping in the damage and
The ruins of a slip of tongue
With tragic consequences
I think that we've all made our gravest mistakes
On the greatest intentions that we're too stubborn to let go
With this little time before I go,
I'll open up my mouth,
And scream it out
To cast my voice
Into the crowd
Now that you're alone,
Is it really so impossible to know
All the actions and reactions
Pinned against each other
Never really end just how you want it
I think that we've all made our gravest mistakes
On the greatest intentions that we're too stubborn to let go
With this little time before I go,
I'll open up my mouth,
And scream it out
To cast my voice
Into the crowd
I know that all of this will come and go
So open up your mouth
And scream it out
To cast your voice
To the crowd.
So open up your mouth
And scream it out
To cast your voice
To the crowd.
You got your scene pinned underneath your thumb
And that's the way you need it, yeah!
You got the dirt that hurts on everyone
And all the people see it, yeah!
Every single heart would be for you alone if you would let it.
Starving eyes led by subtle lies.
No one knows the way you are when you're alone 'cus you wont let 'em.
Cut 'em off before they get too close to you!
Every single heart would be for you alone if you would let it.
Starving eyes led by subtle lies.
No one knows the way you are when you're alone 'cus you wont let 'em.
Cut 'em off before they get too close to you!
Don't let 'em in
Don't let 'em in
You gotta keep yourself composed.
So, don't let 'em in
Don't let 'em in
Feeling your body burn down into your bones
Don't let it show
Watching his body fall flat into the dirt
You know it had to hurt
And he begins to stand
You're shaking again.
Bruising your body right down into your soul
What a whole
Busting your lip and now the blood begins to run
You never had enough
He's coming back alone
You're shaking again.
Wait
Stay
Pick it up if you want me please
I couldn't do it alone, a dead dog should know
I couldn't do it alone, a dead man should know.
Fake place
I knew you had it in you
Wait, stay
Just long enough that you know, a dead dog should know
Just long enough that you know, a dead man should know.
Busting your body right down into your soul
Don't let it show
Splitting your lip and now the blood begins to run
You never had enough
He's coming back alone
Calm down, you won't gain any ground if you're shaking from head to toe
And if you'd wake up you'd be weary to lie 'cause discerning eyes will know
Your words carry the weight of the world
And they're waiting for that shoe to drop
So you sit down, you give in, and they get up.
And they yelled
Someone's got blood on their hands
With a stone cold glare and a crooked grin
You know exactly what we're saying when we say
Someone's got blood on their hands
Forget about truth and consequence
We've got a way to deal with this.
And if you're good maybe they'll be light on you
Long as you dance just like they want you to
Just shelter that look in your eyes
And think about staying alive
Sit down, give in, when they get up.
And they yell
Someone's got blood on their hands
With a stone cold glare and a crooked grin
You know exactly what we're saying when we say
Someone's got blood on their hands
Forget about truth and consequence
We've got a way to deal with this.
Someone's got blood on their hands
With a stone cold glare and a crooked grin
You know exactly what we're saying when we say
Someone's got blood on their hands
Forget about truth and consequence
