Snoop Dogg teams up with Eddie Murphy for new reggae song - listen
The track, 'Redlight', comes with a video showing Snoop and Murphy in the studio together
Snoop Lion aka Snoop Dogg has teamed up with Hollywood actor Eddie Murphy on a new reggae song. Click 'play' above to give it a listen.
The track, titled 'Redlight', is credited to "Eddie Murphy Feat. Snoop Lion aka Snoop Dogg". It was uploaded to YouTube yesterday (June 27) backed by a video featuring footage of Snoop and Murphy in the recording studio.
'Redlight' continues Snoop Dogg's reggae reinvention as Snoop Lion. His first album under the new guise, 'Reincarnated', came out this April (2013) and featured collaborations with Drake, Chris Brown, Busta Rhymes, Akon, Rita Ora and Miley Cyrus.
Meanwhile, the rapper claimed last month (May) that he briefly operated as an actual pimp in 2003. "It was my program. City to city, titty to titty, hotel room to hotel room, athlete to athlete, entertainer to entertainer," he said at the time. "If I'm in a city where where the Denver Broncos or the Nuggets play, I get a couple of their players to come hang out, pick and choose, and whichever one you like comes with a number. A lot of athletes bought pussy from me."
Though best known as a comedian and the star of the Beverly Hills Cop movies, Murphy kept up a sporadic recording career in the '80s and '90s, releasing three albums and scoring a US Number Two hit single with 1985's 'Party All The Time', which was produced by Rick James. Murphy later duetted with Michael Jackson on a 1993 single called 'Whatzupwitu'.
