BBC Radio Foyle (Irish: BBC Raidió Feabhail ) is a BBC Northern Ireland local radio station, serving County Londonderry in Northern Ireland. It is named after the River Foyle which flows through the city where the station is based. The station broadcasts from BBC's Northland Road studios on 93.1 FM and 792 MW in Derry, County Londonderry. There is also a small television studio based there used for interviews with the interviewee sitting in front of a CSO screen which normally has a live view of Derry City.

It is an opt out from BBC Radio's main Northern Ireland service, BBC Radio Ulster. BBC Radio Foyle's weekday schedule begins at 7:30am and continues until 5:00pm.

In the Autumn of 2010 BBC Radio Foyle made changes to their output.

From 0700 until 1600, BBC Radio Foyle broadcasts hourly news summaries.

The Gerry Anderson Show on weekday mornings is broadcast on both Radio Foyle and Radio Ulster from Radio Foyle's studios.

Between 0630 and 0100, all other programming are broadcast from Radio Ulster. Between 0100 and 0630, Radio 5 Live programming is simulcast.

Brendan Rodgers (born 26 January 1973) is a Northern Irish former footballer who is the current manager of Liverpool.

Rodgers began his career as a footballer at Ballymena United before moving to Reading, where an injury forced him to retire at the age of 20. He stayed at Reading as a youth team coach before being invited to join Chelsea as the manager of their youth team in 2004. He was promoted to reserve team manager in 2006.

In November 2008, he was appointed manager of Watford, before moving back to Reading as manager following the resignation of Steve Coppell in June 2009. He left the club by mutual consent in December 2009, and returned to management with Swansea City in July 2010. The following year, he led Swansea City to become the first Welsh team to win promotion to the Premier League, and guided them to 11th in their debut season. In June 2012, Rodgers was announced as the new Liverpool manager.

Rodgers was born in Carnlough to parents Malachy and Christina, the eldest of five brothers. He was educated at St. Patrick's College in Ballymena. He played Gaelic football and hurling in Carnlough before taking up football when he was 13. He grew up as a supporter of Celtic.

Nabila Ramdani is a Paris-born freelance journalist of Algerian descent who specialises in Anglo-French issues, Islamic affairs, and the Arab World.

Ramdani holds an MPhil in International History from the London School of Economics (LSE), and an MPhil in British and American History and Literature from Paris 7 University.

She has an Agrégation (France's highest teaching qualification) in English and has held teaching positions at Oxford University (Jesus and Oriel Colleges), the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and Paris 7 University.

Ramdani began her career in journalism covering the 2007 French presidential elections for a number of UK newspapers, and working as a commentator for BBC TV and radio. She writes regular columns for The Guardian, London Evening Standard, and the New Statesman.

She also produces features and news stories for a wide range of other British publications, including The Daily Telegraph,The Sunday Telegraph, Daily Mail,Mail on Sunday, and The Sunday Times. Nabila’s work also appears in Middle Eastern newspapers including The National,Gulf News and Daily News Egypt, and she has contributed to the French publications Le Parisien, Marianne, L'Express, Le Monde, and Le Figaro. Ramdani's articles are syndicated worldwide.

Harry Hamilton (born November 29, 1962, in Jamaica, New York) is a former professional American football player. He was an Academic All-American safety at Penn State University in 1982 and 1983. He played 8 seasons as a safety in the National Football League. He attended John S. Fine High school in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania

The Miami Showband were one of the most successful and popular showbands in Ireland in the 1960s and 1970s. Led at first by singer Dickie Rock, and later by Fran O'Toole, they had seven number one records on the Irish singles chart. In 1975, when returning from a performance in Banbridge, County Down, Northern Ireland, three members of the band, Fran O'Toole, Tony Geraghty, and Brian McCoy, were killed in what became known as the "Miami Showband massacre".

The band was established in Dublin in 1962 by impresario Tom Doherty. He recruited an existing group, the Downbeats Quartet, comprising Joe Tyrell (piano), Tony Bogan (drums), Clem Quinn (guitar), and Martin Phelan (saxophone), and augmented them with singer Dickie Rock (at the time, a member of another group, the Melochords), trumpeter Tommy O'Rourke, trombonist and vocalist Murty Quinn, and bass player Denis Murray. The group's first engagement was at the Palm Beach Ballroom in Portmarnock, and so they were named the Miami Showband. They rapidly became one of the top showbands in the country, and their first single, a version of the Elvis Presley album track "There's Always Me" reached number one in the Irish charts in December 1963. They had four further number one hits over the next two years: "I'm Yours" and "From the Candy Store on the Corner" (both 1964), and "Every Step of the Way" and "Wishing It Was You" (both 1965). "Every Step of the Way" was the first song by an Irish artist to go straight in as a number one single in the Irish charts. In 1966, they were chosen to sing Ireland's entry in the Eurovision Song Contest, and their song "Come Back To Stay" also reached the top of the charts. They also appeared on British TV, on Sunday Night at the London Palladium and Thank Your Lucky Stars.
