Francis Anthony "Eg" White (born 22 November 1966) is a British musician, songwriter and producer. White is primarily known for his work with successful commercial pop acts such as Adele, Duffy, Will Young and James Morrison. In 2009 he was named the Ivor Novello Songwriter of the Year.

White started his career in the bands Yip Yip Coyote and, with his brother David, Brother Beyond in the late 1980s, leaving the latter when they became involved with the songwriting team of Stock, Aitken and Waterman and just prior to their chart successes.

In 1990 White teamed up with London model and BMX champion Alice Temple, and together they recorded the critically acclaimed pop album 24 Years of Hunger, which was released in 1991 under the name Eg and Alice. It was described by Allmusic as "one of the finest, most refined and fully realized recordings of the era, employing a much more sophisticated and romantic style than anything else out of England at the time". In spite of the critical acclaim (the album featured in many major music publications top 50 albums of 1991) and two well received singles "Indian" and "Doesn't Mean That Much to Me", the album failed to enter the UK Albums Chart.

Ellen Gould White (born Harmon) (November 26, 1827 – July 16, 1915) was a prolific author and an American Christian pioneer. She, along with other Sabbatarian Adventist leaders, such as Joseph Bates and her husband James White, formed what is now known as the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Ellen White reported to her fellow believers her visionary experiences. James White, and others of the Adventist pioneers, viewed these experiences as the Biblical gift of prophecy as outlined in Revelation 12:17 and 19:10 which describe the testimony of Jesus as the "spirit of prophecy". Her Conflict of the Ages series of writings endeavor to showcase the hand of God in Biblical and Christian church history. This cosmic conflict, referred to as the "Great Controversy theme", is foundational to the development of Seventh-day Adventist theology.
