Pandit Shyam Sunder is blessed with a beautiful daughter, Rupa, on the auspicious occasion of Janamashtami. But Rupa's mother dies soon after her birth leaving her child to bear the brunt of being an ill-omen. Years later, Rupa burns her face from a frying pot, thus disfiguring the right side of her face completely. It leaves a horrible scar in her beautiful face. An Engineer named Rajeev, arrives from Bombay. He approaches Shyam Sunder to seek his permission and blessings, so that he can marry Rupa. Rajeev is mesmerized by Rupa's sensational voice and takes no time to marry Rupa. On their wedding night, Rajeev discovers that his wife is disfigured and so he refuses to have to do anything with her. Zeenat Aman
Zeenat Aman (born 1951 in Bombay) is an Indian actress, model and beauty queen best known for her work in Hindi films during the 1970s and 80's. She won the Miss Asia Pacific 1970 title. She is the first South Asian woman to win the title. Upon making her debut in Bollywood, Zeenat Aman, along with Parveen Babi, was credited with making a lasting impact on the image of its leading actresses by introducing the modern look to Hindi cinema. Throughout her career she has been considered a sex symbol.
Early life
Zeenat Aman was born in Mumbai (then called Bombay) in 1951 to Amanullah Khan and Scinda. Her father, Amanullah Khan, was related to the Bhopal State ruling family. He was a script writer who made the script for such movies as Mughal-e-Azam and Pakeezah. Amanullah Khan often wrote under the nom de plume 'Aman' which she later adopted as her second name on screen. He died when Aman was 13. Her mother remarried a German man called Heinz (and was constantly referred to as Mrs. Heinz in all subsequent articles published in film magazines). Aman's mother obtained a German citizenship and took her to Germany where Zeenat Aman stayed temporarily. She returned to India when she turned 18. She is the cousin of actor Raza Murad and niece of actor Murad.

Plot: Episode 1 - "A Renter's Market" Starving actor, Hart Massey decides to rent an apartment in the Annex neighborhood. Plot: The orphaned Poornima is consigned to the care of her grandfather by her uncaring aunt. Grandfather lives in isolation up a mountain with only goats and the boy goatherd, Jaggu, for company. Poornima enjoys an idyllic life until her aunt returns. Auntie has found a buyer for her niece. She is to become the companion of the wheelchair bound, Rupa. Forced to leave her mountain retreat, Poornima becomes firm friends with Rupa despite the presence of the scowling nanny. She receives a good education too. Even so, Poornima pines for the mountains. Jaggu pines for Poornima and, when on the doctor's advice, Poornima is returned to the hills, it's Rupa's turn to pine for her. Brought up the mountain for a visit, Rupa enjoys the health-giving properties of fresh air and goats' milk. When her wheelchair is tossed over a cliff by Jaggu (who resents the presence of the interloper)a miracle occurs. The story is adapted from the children's classic "Heidi".
