Pastor Curt Crist www.welcometograce.com Ephesians 5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. In our union with Christ, He is IN us and we are IN Him. We've been joined to Him through the baptizing, or identifying work of the Holy Spirit. God the Holy Spirit is IN us and God the Son is IN all who have taken God at His Word as to what the cross-work of Christ accomplished when it comes to the resolution of God's justice where our sins are concerned. Nowhere in the Word of God are we told that we are joined to God the Father and become members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones, because God the Father is Spirit. We believers have been joined to the God-man. The Holy Spirit indwells us, but nowhere in Scripture are we told that we have become members of the Holy Spirit's body, of His flesh, and of His bones. Like God the Father, the Holy Spirit is Spirit. How is God the Father IN us? To understand that, we must first look at how God the Father was IN Jesus Christ. John 14:9: ...Have I been so long time with you (Philip), and yet hast thou not known ME? he that hath SEEN ME hath SEEN the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Jesus Christ manifested God the Father in a way that was visible to man. We could say it this way: God the Father was declaring Himself to the world through the second member of the Godhead, Jesus Christ, the God-man who has all the attributes of God the Father. John 17:8: For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I CAME OUT from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. It was God the Father's plan that the second member of the Godhead (the One who was with God called "the Word" in the book of John,) take on human flesh, and be born of the virgin Mary, thus becoming fully identified (except for the sin nature and its resultant sins) with the creation for whom he was sent to die. The Holy Spirit was able to bring about the Christ child in Mary's womb apart from any physical interaction or human participation in the conception PROCESS. Mary would BEAR the baby Jesus, but the Christ child was God the Father's plan, His design, the Christ child was what God the Father purposed and the Christ child was of God the Father's design. Jesus Christ, the God-man, truly came from the drawing board of heaven as God the Father had written the script for the second member of the Godhead, called the Word, in Scripture. Greek preposition "ek" means "out of." The Greek preposition "ek" is in the first part of the single word translated "I came out" in Verse 8. It can mean "out from" in the sense of place, time or source. "I came out"...and what is the very next word in the sentence? It's the word "FROM." "FROM" is the Greek "para." This doesn't mean "out from" as a source. It's the Greek preposition meaning "beside." Genesis 11:7: "Go to (in present day vernacular, let's get-er done!) let US go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech." When it comes to the deity side of Jesus Christ He is called "the Son of God" in Scripture. When it comes to the human side of Jesus Christ, he is called "the Son of Man" in Scripture. John 14:7 "If ye had known ME, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have SEEN him." John 14:10 "Believest thou not that I am IN the Father, and the Father IN me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth IN me, he doeth the works." (Christ didn't lose His deity when he became flesh.) John 14:11: "Believe me that I am IN the Father, and the Father IN me: or else believe me for the very works' sake." God the Father had a plan for Jesus Christ, the God-man. God the Holy Spirit put that plan into play. God the Father had a plan for us believers. God the Holy Spirit put that plan into play for us by putting us into Christ. God the Holy Spirit put the second member of the Godhead into Mary. God the Holy Spirit put us, believers today, into the Person of our Savior. God the Holy Spirit initiated both plans put them into play and where does He dwell today? Inside us! He left the splendor of heaven to secure my destiny. On the lonely hill of Golgatha my Savior became sin for me. Now my hope the splendor of heaven in union with Christ I am placed. No longer the lowly one of Golgatha, it's the glorified Lord, I await. Because that is love and the oceans are NOT dry. God placed the stars in the sky and He made the sparrows to fly. Yes, that is love and Heaven's no myth. It was God's love for us that made salvation His gift......
