Three hundred years before Jonathan Swift, satire thrived in the form of kyogen, the Japanese comedic theater. Literally mad words, kyogen originated during the samurai era and features humorous stories of daily life laced with biting social satire directed against the samurai class that was the main audience for the plays. Led by Yamamoto Noritoshi—designated as an Intangible Cultural Asset by the Japanese government—Yamamoto Kyogen offers two kyogen comedies:
Shido Hogaku (Stop in Your Tracks): The classic kyogen tale of a master-servant relationship turned on its head. A servant is sent by his callous master on a shameful errand, and, in his spite, the servant vows to get his revenge. Hijinks ensue as the two engage in a riotous reversal of station, with the servant getting the last laugh.
Tsukimi Zato (Moon-viewing Blind Man): A farce in which a blind man meets a passerby on the road while enjoying a full moon and quickly becomes the object of a cruel trick perpetrated by the stranger.

This one, "Obagazake", is about a woman who has a sake shop and a lout for a nephew.
The nephew dons a demon mask and scars the wits out of Auntie.
He then steals her sake and gets so drunk that he fell asleep with the mask on his knee.
I'm sure he was bruised for days after the beating he would have surely received :P

2013 年 2 月には早くも 2nd FULL AL「THE STORY IS MY LIFE」をリリース。オリコンウィークリーチャート初登 場 15 位。ALL TIME LOW の JAPAN TOUR サポートや PUNK SPRING 2013 への出演、初のクアトロツアーも全 会場即日ソールドアウトという輝かしいトピックが続く中、7 月には 1st SINGLE+DVD「最終回 STORY」をリリース。
11 月には AIR SWELL、BLUE ENCOUNT、SWANKY DANK と共に、レーベルの垣根を越え「BONEDS」(ボー ンズ)という強力スプリット CD をリリース。今作は大反響を呼び「BONEDS TOUR」と題して 2014 年年明けから全 国ツアーを敢行。その模様を収めた DVD「BONEDS TOUR MOVIE」は 2014 年 5 月にリリースとなる。
2014 年 2 月には初の DVD 作品「The Ending of the Beginning Tour Final ONEMAN SHOW atEBISU LIQUIDROOM」をリリース。2014 年も、更なる飛躍を見せることは間違いない。

☆Interpretation/Story Summary☆
The student council has been pulled out of the school, leaving Moonlight Sonata in charge. With the school’s directors coming to judge in a month, how will the girls pull together despite their own differences? Hinoe revels in the power she’s given as the acting head of the council and sees this opportunity as the perfect chance to take over the school. She plans to use the secret brainwashing program embedded in the game she has been developing without the knowledge of the club aside from Froggie and Canna, who have been attempting to stop her from completing it. Hinoe attempts to get the rest of the student body under her control using the game, but is stopped in due time by the rest of the club after Froggie confesses everything she had known. They remind Hinoe that what makes them strong is not the power to rule over others, but rather, the strength of their friendship, and rekindle their bonds. Using the newly programmed and completed game and the connections they gained abroad, Moonlight Sonata sells their game internationally (it becomes a big hit worldwide) in order to raise the funds needed to repair the school and put on a final, unforgettable concert to save the school. On the day of the judging, they give the performance of a lifetime, and save the school from demolition, proving that the bonds of friendship can overcome anything.

Kyōgen (狂言?, literally "mad words" or "wild speech") is a form of traditional Japanese comic theater. It developed alongside Noh, was performed along with Noh as an intermission of sorts between Noh acts, on the same Noh stage, and retains close links to Noh in the modern day; therefore, it is sometimes designated Noh-kyōgen. However, its content is not at all similar to the formal, symbolic, and solemn Noh theater; kyōgen is a comical form, and its primary goal is to make its audience laugh. Kyōgen is sometimes compared to the Italian comic form of commedia dell'arte, which developed around the same period (14th century) and likewise features stock characters.
Kyōgen is thought to derive from a form of Chinese entertainment that was brought to Japan around the 8th century. This entertainment form became known as sarugaku and initially encompassed both serious drama and comedy. By the 14th century, these forms of sarugaku had become known as Noh and kyōgen, respectively.
Kyōgen provided a major influence on the later development of kabuki theater. After the earlier, more ribald forms of kabuki had been outlawed in the mid-17th century, the government permitted the establishment of the new yarō-kabuki (men's kabuki) only on the grounds that it refrain from the previous kabuki forms' lewdness and instead model itself after kyōgen.

Three hundred years before Jonathan Swift, satire thrived in the form of kyogen, the Japanese comedic theater. Literally mad words, kyogen originated during the samurai era and features humorous stories of daily life laced with biting social satire directed against the samurai class that was the main audience for the plays. Led by Yamamoto Noritoshi—designated as an Intangible Cultural Asset by the Japanese government—Yamamoto Kyogen offers two kyogen comedies:
Shido Hogaku (Stop in Your Tracks): The classic kyogen tale of a master-servant relationship turned on its head. A servant is sent by his callous master on a shameful errand, and, in his spite, the servant vows to get his revenge. Hijinks ensue as the two engage in a riotous reversal of station, with the servant getting the last laugh.
Tsukimi Zato (Moon-viewing Blind Man): A farce in which a blind man meets a passerby on the road while enjoying a full moon and quickly becomes the object of a cruel trick perpetrated by the stranger.

The nephew dons a demon mask and scars the wits out of Auntie.

I'm sure he was bruised for days after the beating he would have surely received :P

☆Interpretation/Story Summary☆
The student council has been pulled out of the school, leaving Moonlight Sonata in charge. With the school’s directors coming to judge in a month, how will the girls pull together despite their own differences? Hinoe revels in the power she’s given as the acting head of the council and sees this opportunity as the perfect chance to take over the school. She plans to use the secret brainwashing program embedded in the game she has been developing without the knowledge of the club aside from Froggie and Canna, who have been attempting to stop her from completing it. Hinoe attempts to get the rest of the student body under her control using the game, but is stopped in due time by the rest of the club after Froggie confesses everything she had known. They remind Hinoe that what makes them strong is not the power to rule over others, but rather, the strength of their friendship, and rekindle their bonds. Using the newly programmed and completed game and the connections they gained abroad, Moonlight Sonata sells their game internationally (it becomes a big hit worldwide) in order to raise the funds needed to repair the school and put on a final, unforgettable concert to save the school. On the day of the judging, they give the performance of a lifetime, and save the school from demolition, proving that the bonds of friendship can overcome anything.
