US Airforce STEALTH UAV armed with LASER GUN named General Atomics Avenger
The General Atomics Avenger (formerly Predator C) is a developmental unmanned combat air vehicle built by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems for the United States military. Its first flight occurred on 4 April 2009.[2][3] Unlike the previous MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper (Predator B) drones, the Avenger is powered by a turbofan engine, and its design includes stealth features such as internal weapons storage, and an S-shaped exhaust for reduced heat and radar signature.[4] The Avenger will support the same weapons as the MQ-9, and carry the Lynx synthetic aperture radar and a version of the F-35 Lightning II's electro-optical targeting system (EOTS), called the Advanced Low-observable Embedded Reconnaissance Targeting (ALERT) system.[5][6] The Avenger will use the same ground support infrastructure as the MQ-1 and MQ-9, including the ground control station and existing communications networks.[2] Flight testing[edit] The first flight of the first prototype Avenger occurred on April 4, 2009 at the company's Gray Butte Flight Operations Facility in Palmdale, California. The aircraft took off and landed without any discrepancies and was ready to fly again once refueled. Following flights were performed successfully on April 13 and 14.[7] The second prototype Avenger performed its first flight on January 12, 2012, meeting all performance objectives and refining the first prototype design to an operational capability. The Tail 2 prototype featured a four foot longer fuselage to accommodate larger payloads and more fuel. This larger Avenger can carry a larger payload of up to 3,500 lb of weapons internally and on its wing hard points. A third and fourth model are being produced, with Tail 3 expected to fly by late summer 2012 and Tail 4 by early 2013.[8] On February 15, 2012, the Air Force cancelled its MQ-X program, which was supposed to find an aircraft to replace the MQ-9 Reaper. The funds will be invested in developing technology to analyze the data already generated by its UAVs and upgrading current Reapers.[9][10] The Sea Avenger variant is part of the Navy's Unmanned Carrier-Launched Airborne Surveillance and Strike system (UCLASS) program. If it is selected by the Navy, the Air Force may consider buying the ground-based version for service.[11] On November 15, 2012, the Avenger flew for three hours while being controlled by the General Atomics Advanced Cockpit Ground Control Station (GCS). The Advanced Cockpit GCS has a wrap-around visual display and multi-dimensional moving map to increase situational awareness and reduce pilot workload. The Advanced Cockpit GCS has flown an MQ-1 Predator and is planned to fly an MQ-9 Reaper as part of an Air Force initiative to enable interoperability with all USAF Remote Piloted Aircraft (RPA).[12] Deployment to Afghanistan[edit] In December 2011, the Air Force announced that it had ordered an Avenger and that it was being deployed to Afghanistan. "This aircraft will be used as a test asset and will provide a significantly increased weapons and sensors payload capacity on an aircraft that will be able to fly to targets much more rapidly than the MQ-9 [Reaper] UAS," the USAF said in an announcement. "Since it has an internal weapons bay and four hardpoints on each wing it will also allow greater flexibility and will accommodate a large selection of next generation sensor and weapons payloads." The aircraft ordered was the original Tail 1 prototype version. This announcement sparked rumors that the aircraft was being deployed to monitor neighboring Iran and Pakistan. These allegations were made because the Avenger is stealthy, while the battlespace over Afghanistan is free of radar guided missiles, as well as any other anti-aircraft weapons. The announcement also came two weeks after the Iran-US RQ-170 incident. The Air Force responded by clarifying that the purchase was initiated in July of that year, well before the incident.[13][14] Export[edit] General Atomics has offered the Predator C Avenger to Canada as a contender for its Joint Unmanned Surveillance and Target Acquisition System (JUSTAS) armed UAV project.[15] Armament Internal weapons bay with 3,500 pounds (1,600 kg) capacity. 6 external hardpoints. 6,500 pounds (2,900 kg) payload total. AGM-114P Hellfire missiles GBU-39 SDB - 250 lb bombs GBU-12 Paveway II, GBU-38 JDAM - 500 lb bombs GBU-16 Paveway II, GBU-32 JDAM - 1000 lb bombs GBU-31 JDAM - 2000 lb bombs Avionics Lynx Synthetic Aperture Radar AESA Wide-area surveillance sensor The United States Air Force (USAF) is the aerial warfare service branch of the United States Armed Forces and one of the seven American uniformed services. Initially part of the United States Army, the USAF was formed as a separate branch of the military on 18 September 1947 under the National Security Act of 1947.[5] It is the most recent branch of the U.S. military to be formed, and is the largest and one of the world's most technologically advanced air forces.- published: 13 Jan 2014

China's 'Sharp Sword' stealth UAV to make first flight
China's 'Sharp Sword' stealth UAV to make first flight
Recently the video about the taxiing test of China's "Sharp Sword" attack unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was exposed. Media said that China's "Sharp Sword" stealth attack UAV proof test has already begun and the frequent land taxiing tests indicate the preparatory work for the first flight is underway. In an interview with CCTV reporter, military expert Du Wenlong revealed that China's first stealth UAV will make the first flight after one year and it is in good technical conditions at the present time. Du Wenlong said that the completion of a fighter shall undergo three stages, including the manufacture of the whole aircraft, the land taxiing, the first flight and subsequent flight test. Judging from the present situation, "Sharp Sword" has entered into the second stage. It is still one year left before the first flight. If the UAV succeeds in the first flight and is used for the army, it makes the Chinese Air Force own a dedicated UAV, Du said. The previous fighter means a combination of aircraft and pilot, but the pilot will possibly stand apart from aircraft in the future, hence its combat ability will have a new growth space in comparison with the manned aircraft. For example, in many high-risk areas, the load for life support system can be cast off, and the combat ability can be significantly heightened. China aviation industry has made great progress in the manufacture of stealth fighter. Besides the existing J-20, J-31, in the field of the stealth UAV, it is another tremendous space for improvement. In addition, the auto-control engineering has also developed rapidly. Without the BDS, an aircraft cannot fly far even if it only has the GPS. Therefore, with the advanced manufacturing technology, auto-control technology and macroscopic physical environment, what we see now is not only "Sharp Sword", but the improvement of the whole aviation industry environment. On the question whether "Sharp Sword" can be equipped on the aircraft carrier as carrier-based aircraft, Du Wenlong said, after refitting the UAV will probably make flight tests on aircraft carrier or participate in a combat in the future. In particular, judging from the basic development tendency of carrier-borne aircraft, the manned stealth fighter is usually used together with the UAV, because in the whole maritime combat environment, the aircraft carrier's space is the most precious. The smaller UAV indicates that the aircraft carrier can accommodate more fighters, which can greatly increase the quantity of fighters and enhance the scale of battle. Due to the future complicated maritime combat environment, in the sea-to-land attack action, if we know nothing about the enemy's aerial defense system, without UAV, the attack and defense capability will be influenced. Even if we succeed in attacking, we may pay a high cost. If a lot of manned fighters are shot off by the enemy, the attack action will suffer great losses. The combination of the manned fighter and UAV is a perfect combination which makes each give full play to its advantages. In the future, the Chinese aircraft carrier is also expecting for this new type of UAV. (People's Daily )- published: 22 Nov 2013

MBDA - CVS302 Hoplite Land/Naval-Launched Precision UAV Missile System Combat Simulation [480p]
Pioneering indirect fire weapon system designed for the complex 2035 battle space. • CV 2013 rapid automatic planning minimises workload by providing engagement solutions to operator • Agile mission control and fast, low-flying missiles vastly reduce the need to clear an air corridor, cutting response times • Two missiles deliver overall capability and can be matched to mission complexity, increasing load-out flexibility and reducing mission cost • Innovative propulsion allows supersonic flight and subsonic dwell for operator in the loop targeting Step change in organic fire support capability for land and sea forces • Compact launcher implementing Soft Vertical Launch (SVL) provides a fast response and is platform agnostic • Survivable missiles operate in hostile airspace while launchers are protected by non-ballistic trajectories • Mixed missile salvos coordinate their own attacks on multiple targets for maximum effectiveness • One shot one kill simplifies operations, reduces collateral damage risk and reduces mission cost Hoplite-S - Utility missile for simple, supported engagements An air-turbo-rocket propelled missile navigates through contested / congested airspace. Its versatile LADAR seeker also tracks designators & provides covert altimeter / fuzing functions. The missile can receive 3rd party mission updates and be targeted by Hoplite-L in coordinated strikes. The penetrator warhead is accelerated by the airframe to defeat hard targets and to tune fragment effects. 120kg; Ø 180mm x 3200mm; Mach 1.5-3.5; 160 km range Hoplite-L - High capability missile for complex, isolated engagements The same air-turbo-rocket propulsion as Hoplite-S also allows deceleration for OITL targeting via 2-way datalink. Its multi-mode seeker is robust to complex target environments & countermeasures with up to 30km detection. A boosted penetrator warhead defeats all targets with tuneable effects from all flight speeds. It directs mixed salvo strikes by datalink and laser. 135kg; Ø 180mm x 3750mm; Mach 0.6-3+; 140 km range Mission Control This collates and displays external ISTAR and battlespace planning information in one location. Operation times are vastly reduced by providing rapid route planning and decision support. Terminal trajectories are calculated based on lethality and collateral damage estimates. The commander receives a choice of engagement options each optimised for different priorities such as time to target & probability of kill. A laptop sized unit governs multiple launchers and can be collocated with artillery C4I / ship ops. room or with launcher.- published: 20 Sep 2013
