Dynamo Kyiv stadium set aflame by protesters in Kiev
Tens of thousands of protesters armed with sticks, flares and Molotov cocktails clashed with security forces in Kiev on Sunday, with protesters setting fire to the ticket booth at local football team Dynamo Kyiv's iconic Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex. Fires also raged close to the stadium, including a bus set alight by the entrance. The violence in Kiev comes follow a number of bills signed by Ukrainian President Victor Yanukovych last week, which critics argue limit people's right to protest. These include the banning of helmets and gas masks during protests, legislation that was defied by some of the protesters on Sunday. As Ukraine's most popular and successful club, Dynamo Kyiv's stadium resides in close proximity to the Ukrainian parliament as well as other important buildings, including the Central Bank of Ukraine and the National Art Museum of Ukraine.- published: 20 Jan 2014

In Kyiv the Riot Police destroyed The Red Cross point and shoot at the medics. with eng subs
On January 22 at Hrushevskoho Street in Kiev after the second attack of "Berkut", the Riot Police officers entered the premises of the Red Cross, where doctors and victims were. The Riot Police destroyed windows. Then they threw light and noise grenades and tear gas inside , what made doctors run away without their medicaments. One of the officers shot at one of the workers who tried to help the victim, despite the fact that the nurse was wearing a red vest with symbols of the Red Cross and showed his ID. Police fired teargas on demonstrators protesting against the government's decision to suspend trade talks with the EU. Ukraine was supposed to sign a trade and cooperation agreement at the EU summit in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius on Friday but the government announced last week it was seeking closer trade ties with Moscow instead. The Kremlin had threatened trade retaliation against Ukraine. On the streets there is anger at what is seen as a u-turn by the government One protester said " I don't represent any political party. I've come of my own free will. I'd like Ukraine to confirm Europe as our partner. "I don't agree with Prime Minister Azarov. He must cancel the decision to suspend the signing of the Association Agreement, otherwise he must resign!" said another. The Ukranian opposition has demanded that talks with the EU are restarted. Boxing champion and opposition leader Vitali Klitschko said:"After negotiations with many influential European politicians we are positive that Europe is still interested in Ukraine's euro-integration. The doors have not been closed yet. However, it depends on us if we will ever be a part of Europe or not. " The Ukranian foreign ministry has confirmed the president will still go to the summit on Friday. Euronews correspondent in Kyiv, Maria Korenyuk, says that despite the rain in Kiev, hundreds of Ukrainians are continuing to protest. They say their rally will continue until November 29, the day when Ukraine's fate will be determined at the Vilnius Summit. Just after midnight, officers dressed in full riot gear began dismantling barricades which activists had set up in their campaign to get the government to reverse its decision to pull out of a trade pact with the EU. Protesters had been expecting some sort of police response but when it came it was still a shock Scuffles broke out and several people were injured. "It's pure provocation, against a peaceful protest," said one protester. "We are here without any arms - How can you act like that against peaceful people in our country?" Another group of older campaigners said: "We are here as a human shield to separate the special forces on one side, and our hot heads . We hope we can restrain one from attacking and the others from responding." Ukraine's special forces herded protesters into the centre of the square. As more people turned out to support the activists, the two sides ended up facing each other down. However just before dawn, police suddenly stopped operations. Officers remained in place but made no move to pull down tents in the centre of the square where protesters had been living. Our reporter in Kyiv, Angelina Karyakina had been monitoring the situation throughout the night. "It's now a standoff in one of the last areas on Independence Square. Special forces have tried by force to push through the barricades, protesters have with all the force they can muster tried to oppose them," she said. With tensions high, the two sides confronted each other near the capital's main government buildings. Protesters hurled missiles at police who in turn tried to clear the area. The dispute which started in November when Ukraine's president pulled out of a deal with the EU under pressure from Moscow, has now been exacerbated by new legislation cracking down on peaceful protests. On Monday, President Viktor Yanukovych warned that the country's stability was being threatened by the continuing unrest. However he made no reference to peace talks with the opposition which were supposed to have started that day. Meanwhile boxer-turned-politician Vitaly Klitschko is insisting the president participates in the promised talks and has urged people outside Kyiv to come into the capital to show their support. A massive 350,000 people had turned out to protest at President Viktor Yanukovich's U-turn away from a trade pact with the EU. At one point some of them apparently stormed presidential buildings.... but heavyweight boxer turned-opposition-politician Vitali Klitchko claimed that had been an orchestrated move by the authorities to justify a crackdown. "Riot police are doing everything to provoke people. I was there, talking to young guys. I was asking them - please, don't do anything to provoke the bloodshed. The government is looking for an excuse to use special police units It is the president who must be held responsible for everything that is going on in the country right now. He must resign," said the UDAR opposition leader Vitali Klitchko. The protesters are not giving up. Hundreds have prepared tents which they've set up in Independence Square refusing to budge. Opposition leaders are calling for all Ukrainians to support a national strike. Our correspondent in Kyiv Maria Korenyuk said: "What happened in Kyiv on Sunday is already being described as another 'Revolution'. The opposition wants more Ukrainians to come to Independence Square to occupy it. From Monday morning they plan to bring the work of the government to a standstill." They do not want the soldiers stationed there to travel to Kyiv and join the harsh crackdown on protesters there. Many mothers of soldiers inside hold up signs with messages warning their sons that they will be forced to fire and kill people in Kyiv. The mothers brave the cold temperatures - minus five Celsius during the day, minus 14 at night - to make sure their sons do not leave. Lidiya Semerenko, a mother of a soldier serving in Lviv, told euronews what happened to one of her son's colleagues who was beaten outside the barracks: "...his attackers accused him of being a pro-government thug who attacked demonstrators. He was beaten up. My son is 25 .. I'm scared for him," she said. Those convicted of blocking the movement of military personnel could face up to three years in jail, though. The area near parliament looked like a battlefield after a day of violence which has shocked many Ukrainians. Tens of thousands are said to have filled Independence Square in the hope that their sheer numbers will deter further police action. Others are preparing for the worst, but most protesters appear resolute - what began in anger at President Yanukovych's turn away from Europe has become a call for him to quit after introducing new anti-protest laws. "Our leader just seized all the power, and look what's going on here, people are trying to somehow return the legitimacy back to our country," said one protester. With Ukrainians divided over the protests some people are there due to humanitarian concerns such as doctors who have volunteered to work in make shift hospitals. After two months of unrest police stormed the protester's barricades on Wednesday enforcing the new legislation. Because of our sentiments to the city and the incoming spring, we bring you a miniature day in a life of Kiev.
The Making:
We shot MiniLook Kiev with Canon 550D, during 5 days and 2 nights, shoted over 25,000 frames,
from all of them we used about 4,500. The post-production was the hardest part of the creation, it took us a few good months, but finally it's done!
Watch in HD! Enjoy the Kiev!

The violence broke out as demonstrators denounced tough new anti-protest legislation which was rushed through parliament last week. The new curbs on protests include: A ban on the unauthorised installation of tents, stages or amplifiers in public places. Provision to arrest protesters wearing masks or helmets. A ban on protests involving more than five vehicles in convoy. Hefty fines or jail for breaches of law. Ukraine's political opposition claim the new legislation paves the way for a police state while both the US and the European Union have expressed deep concern. Sunday's rally which had been attended by over 100,000 people was the latest in a cycle of public protests sparked by President Yanukovych's U-turn in November away from the EU towards Russia.
