TNAU PDB is an open accessible database that focuses on proteome of various organisms. It is a data repository of various biotic and abiotic stress related protein which are identified from various organism with the help of proteomics approach. currently the database contains eight reference maps based on Two-Dimensional Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis (2D-PAGE) of proteins obtained from various tissues. The main objective is to provide proteome information of different organism that helps in understanding the mechanism of various stress related proteins which in turn helps in annotating their function. The identification of novel genes, the determination of their expression patterns in response to stress and an understanding of their functions in stress adaptation will provide the basis for effective genetic engineering. The primary users of this database will be plant breeders, seed technologist, students and other researchers .Determination of the expression patterns in response to stress, and an understanding of their functions in stress adaptation will provide the researchers with the basis for effective genetic engineering strategies for improving the tolerance of crops to various stresses.
