Pakistani people or Pakistanis (Urdu: پاکستانی قوم) (Pakistani Qaum) are a nationality and pan-ethnic group who are the native citizens and residents of Pakistan. Pakistan's estimated population in 2011 is over 187 million making it the world's sixth most-populous country. Pakistan is in essence a multi-ethnic and multilingual nation that is home to people of diverse regional ethnicities and nationalities, reflecting the rich and complex demographics and history of Pakistan. As a result, Pakistanis do not consider their nationality as an ethnicity but as a citizenship of a Muslim state with various ethnicities comprising the "Pakistani people".

Pakistan has one of the world's fastest growing populations. Being a land mass that is transitionally localed both in South Asian, the Greater Middle East and Central Asia, the Pakistani people are a mixture of various ethnic groups. Furthermore, various ethnic groups, invading armies and the migrations to the region by people passing through on their way to and from South Asia have left their imprint on the population.

British Pakistanis (Urdu: برطانوی پاکستانی; also known as Pakistani British people or Pakistani Britons) are British citizens whose ancestral roots lie in Pakistan. This includes people who were born in the United Kingdom and are of Pakistani descent, and Pakistani-born people who have migrated to the country. The majority of British Pakistanis are from the Punjab and Kashmir regions, with a smaller number from the Pashtun regions (mainly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) and other parts of the country. The United Kingdom is home to the largest overseas Pakistani community. British Pakistanis make up the second largest subgroup of British Asians and are also the second largest ethnic minority population in the United Kingdom.

Immigration to the U.K. from the region which is now Pakistan began in the mid-seventeenth century, but this was fleeting and minuscule in number. During the British Raj people from this region served as soldiers in the British Indian Army and some were deployed in other parts of the British Empire. However it was following the Second World War, the break-up of the British Empire and the independence of Pakistan, that Pakistani immigration to the United Kingdom increased, especially during the 1950s and 1960s. This was made easier by the fact that Pakistan was a member of the Commonwealth. Pakistani immigrants helped to resolve labour shortages in the British steel and textile industries. Doctors from Pakistan were recruited by the National Health Service in the 1960s.

The Sheedi Mela or Sheedi Jaat or Pir Mangho Urs (Urdu: شیدی میلا is an annual spiritual festival in Manghopir neighborhood of Gadap Town in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. Pir Mangho Urs is the most important event in the cultural calendar of the Sheedi community—a community of African-descended Pakistanis. It is held every year at the shrine of Manghopir, usually in the summer, for four days, with the exact dates decided upon by the community leaders. The Sheedi Mela is separate from the Manghopir Urs which marks the death anniversary of Mangho Pir and is held in the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah.

The festival is famous for the role of the sacred crocodiles of the shrine, and the African-influence rituals of the Sheedi community. The festival attracts many people of all ethnic groups. People make their mannats (pledges) at the shrine of Pir Mangho through offering fresh meat (believed to be the sacrificial) to the crocodiles. Shedis believe that the creatures do not harm the saint's followers and because of this bury crocodiles with equal respect and formalities as they would give a human being. There is place reserved for burying dead crocodiles near the shrine.

Poonam Pandey (Hindi: पूनम पांडे; born 11 March 1991) is one of the Kingfisher Calendar girls for year 2011. Poonam was the first Kingfisher Calendar girl who gave a nude image for a magazine.

She first came in the limelight when she vowed to shed all their clothes if India lifts the World Cup trophy. She follows in the footsteps of Paraguay's Larissa Riquelme and Argentinian Luciana Salazar who promised to strip if their football teams won the FIFA World Cup. Though being a bit late she did pose nude moments after the showdown of the Indian Premier League season-5. She made her debut on television as a contestant in Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 4 which was hosted by Akshay Kumar.

‘Jism’ director Amit Saxena has confirmed that he will have Poonam Pandey as the female lead in his forthcoming film, which he says will be a coming of age film. Not too long ago when Pandey claimed on her Twitter account about her Bollywood debut, Saxena denied. However, now he has cleared the air. While speaking freely about the project, Amit said, “Yes, we are working together in a coming of age script. Poonam is the lead actor in the film.”
