Craig Jones (musician)
Craig Michael Jones (born February 11, 1972) also known as 133 (or 133 MHz), The Silent One, The Killer, or by his number #5, is an American musician, best known as the samplist/keyboardist of the band Slipknot.
Biography
Jones was born in Des Moines, Iowa. He previously played in various local extreme metal bands, including Modifidious, before joining Slipknot in February 1996. He was the replacement for the band's original guitarist, Donnie Steele, who left during the recording of their first songs, put together into a demo called Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. Because the band was almost completed with the demo, he did not contribute to it, but he did receive credit for its sleeve concept and graphics in the liner notes. Before the year was over, Jones had been replaced by guitarist Mick Thomson, and he began to assume his role as the band's sampler, using sampler modules to program samples/noises and play back bits of recorded media. With the recording of Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses) he also started using keyboards and synthesizers. Of Slipknot's nine members, Jones was the fourth to join the band.

The series is probably best remembered today for its music, especially the popular "Peter Gunn Theme", which won an Emmy Award and two Grammys for Henry Mancini and subsequently has been performed and recorded by many jazz, rock, and blues musicians. The series was No. 17 in the Nielsen ratings for the 1958–1959 TV season.
Filmed in a film noir atmosphere and featuring Henry Mancini music that could tell you the action with your eyes closed, Peter Gunn worked in style. Known as Pete to his friends and simply as Gunn to his enemies, he did his job in a calm cool way. He got his tips and cautions from Lieutenant Jacoby, a coffee drinking pal from the police. Also providing tips was "Mother" of her self-titled nightclub. Working at the nightclub as a singer was Edie Hart, his girlfriend.

William Onyeabor is the greatest electronic musician you never heard of. Atomic Bomb! is the all-star group that plays his music.
Brought together by Luaka Bop, Atomic Bomb! is an ever-evolving line-up of artists who perform the futuristic, synth-heavy, electronic Afro-funk of this West African synth pioneer. A core band comprising Sinkane, Money Mark and Sarah Jones (Hot Chip) is complemented by vocals from David Byrne, Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip), and Mahotella Queens, with more special guests to be announced.

The group did employ studio musicians to a greater extent than their previous album, Headquarters, on which the four musicians played almost entirely on their own. Guitarist Michael Nesmith is heard vocally on this album more than ever before, singing lead on five cuts; conversely, Micky Dolenz sings lead on only three tracks after dominating the group's first three albums. The album's single, "Pleasant Valley Sunday"/"Words", was a double-sided hit.
The album was the earliest to make use of the Moog synthesizer, which Dolenz introduced to the group and played in the studio; he owned one of the first twenty ever sold.[5] Along with the Doors' September 1967 album Strange Days and Simon & Garfunkel's Bookends the following year, Pisces was one of the first commercial recordings featuring the Moog to reach a wide audience. Dolenz plays the synthesizer on "Daily Nightly" and "Love Is Only Sleeping" (as seen in season 2) while electronic musician Paul Beaver plays the Moog on "Star Collector."
Two additional songs, which eventually became the single "Daydream Believer"/"Goin' Down", were recorded during the album sessions. Released in October 1967 as a prelude to the Pisces album, it would be the group's last #1 single.

Sirena, the second album from Davey Ray Moor, Liam McKahey, Craig Vear and Joe Peet further demonstrates Cousteau's debt to Scott Walker, the Tindersticks and, indeed, any young man or men who have ever put on a suit, turned the lights down low and crooned sadly and sonorously, but edgily. A bunch of itinerant thirtysomethings led by tattooed Irish former decorator--the big-voiced McKahey--and jobbing Aussie musician-turned-writer of sepia-toned torchsong Moor, Cousteau's self-titled debut sold 100,000 copies on the back of endless touring and word-of-mouth. Whether the even more soulful and gently persuasive Sirena will signal a major breakthrough for Cousteau depends on how many of us want to hear musicians play simple but majestic pop without studio trickery, and need a bit of heartbreak poetry in our lives.
Buoyed by dramatic pianos, subtle strings and even the odd keening steel guitar, these anthems of bruised machismo frame Liam's rich and relaxed slides between warm baritone and caressing falsetto. If there's a drawback, it lies in the rhythmic and textural sameyness of much of the material. But, at its best--"Nothing So Bad", "Heavy Weather", single "Talking To Myself", the deliciously sensual "Salome"--Sirena is an album of bittersweet bliss and old-fashioned swoon-pop values. --Garry Mulholland
