http://www.cheaphumidors.com/a/ghostship Today I'm going to be reviewing the Ghost Ship Cigar by the Great Lakes cigar company. This cigar is a 6 by 50 toro cigar with a Connecticut shade wrapper a Connecticut broadleaf Maduro binder and filler from Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and Columbia. The cigars wrapper has a very sturdy appearance, very thick looking wrapper, couple of visible veins, and a little bit of modeling. The foot of the cigar has a mostly earthy aroma with a little bit of cocoa and the cold draw is mostly earthy with a little bit of cocoa and actually a little bit of pepper too. I'll be back in a few minutes to discuss the first third of this cigar. Until about the first half inch of the cigar the flavors on the front of the palette were very woodsy and the finish continued to be woodsy with a little bit of black pepper. Since then there has been some slightly bitter almond notes on the front of the palate with a little bit of woodsiness and the finish has continued to be very woodsy with a little bit of black pepper. So far the draw has been great, very consistent and even burn and except for a tiny little crack starting to form in the ash it is a beautiful white ash that is holding on great. Great construction of the cigar so far. As the cigar progresses the woodsiness on the front of the palette is decreasing and I'm getting more nutty flavors with a little hint of floral and citrus notes from time to time. The finish continues to be woodsy though it is not as predominate as before and the peppery notes are gone from the finish. The construction of the cigar continues to be excellent. The final third of this Great Lakes Ghost SHip Toro has mostly earthy flavors on the front of the palette with a little bit of nuttiness and the woodsy flavors on the finish have returned full force with that black pepper spice as well. The cigar has had great construction from start to finish I've only tapped out the ash about 3 or 4 times throughout the cigar and it has a nice draw and a very even consistent burn throughout the whole cigar. The cigar, as one would expect with a Connecticut wrapper has been about a mild or mild-medium strength, so not a very strong cigar, but has been very full of flavor so I'd put it at a medium-full bodied cigar.
