Quantum Mechanics Documentary on Determinism vs Free Will
A documentary video about the relationship between quantum mechanics, quantum physics and science, and free will, and how the philosophical questions that spring from such problematic such as the existence of a "Master plan", the nature of consciousness, God, religion and eventually human freedom to decide and guide their lives and actions have to be revisited after scientific advances in the fields of quantum physics and quantum mechanics. In a nutshell, determinism versus free will!- published: 10 Oct 2013

Quantum Physics Debunks Materialism
Materialism has been dead for decades now and recent research only reconfirms this and goes even further, as this video will show. It ends with a brief introduction to the Cosmic Conscious Argument for God's existence. Thanks to Johanan Raatz for helping make this video. Does the quantum theory bother you?: Lieven Vandersypen at TEDxBreda
Quantum theory says that an electron can be in two different places at once. But do you believe this? Does it bother you, and why? It certainly did bother Einstein. For much of the 20th century, precisely this point was hotly debated among the greatest minds on the planet. Eventually, experiments left no doubt: we better get used to the wonderfully strange ideas of quantum theory. In Lievens research, he goes beyond surprise and asks himself how to use quantum behavior for doing things that are otherwise impossible and how and when quantum mechanics may show up in your life. Regarding Lieven Vandersypen Lieven Vandersypen (Leuven, 1972) is a professor of Quantum Nanoscience at the Kavli Institute of NanoScience at TU Delft. Led by his fascination for quantum theory, he explores how to make use of quantum mechanics for creating new technology based on nanoscale devices. He studied in Leuven, Belgium, received a PhD degree from Stanford University in California. Lieven carried out his PhD research at the IBM Almaden Research Center, before moving to Delft in 2001. He became known for pioneering studies using the spin of electrons and atomic nuclei as quantum bits in prototype quantum computers.- published: 12 Nov 2013

Quantum Craziness | Space News
A new paper published by an MIT physicist claims to theoretically prove that so-called "quantum entanglement" -- two particles seemingly occupying more than one state simultaneously -- gives rise to a wormhole that allows particles to communicate through a "gravitational tunnel". This theory follows from a paper published earlier this year, which suggests two black holes that become entangled and then are pulled apart create a wormhole, connecting the black holes. The reasoning in these papers is purely mathematical. Wal Thornhill examines this theoretical approach. Original URL:http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2013/you-cant-get-entangled-without-a-wormhole-1205.html Dr. Neil Turok, the Director of the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics: Theoretical physics is at a crossroads right now...In a sense we've entered a very deep crisis. You may have heard of some of these models...There've been grand unified models, there've been super-symmetric models, super-string models, loop quantum gravity models... Well, nature turns out to be simpler than all of these models. If you ask most theorists working on particle physics, they're in a state of confusion. The extensions of the standard model, like grand unified theories, they were supposed to simplify it. But in fact they made it more complicated. The number of parameters in the standard model is about 18. The number in grand unified theories is typically 100. In super-symmetric theories, the minimum is 120. And as you may have heard, string theory seems to predict 10 to the power of 1,000 different possible laws of physics. It's called the multiverse. It's the ultimate catastrophe: that theoretical physics has led to this crazy situation where the physicists are utterly confused and seem not to have any predictions at all... The Quantum Parallelograph
The Quantum Parallelograph is an exploratory project examining the scientific and philosophical ideas surrounding the theory of quantum physics and multiple universes.
The project is rooted in the pioneering work of Professor David Deutsch of Oxford University, and the earlier work of Professor Hugh Everett, who argue for infinite copies of ourselves existing within multiple universes. The Quantum Parallelograph seeks to reveal to the personal user how such ideas of alternative realities might be envisaged.
