Fusion cuisine refers to a dish that combines elements of various culinary traditions. Cuisines of this type are not categorized per any one particular cuisine style and have played a part in innovations of many contemporary restaurant cuisines since the 1970s.

Fusion cuisine is a general term for the combination of various forms of cookery and come in several forms. Regional fusion combines different cuisines of a region or sub-region into a single eating experience. Asian fusion restaurants, which combine the various cuisines of different Asian countries, have become popular in many parts of the United States and United Kingdom. Often featured are South Asian, East Asian, and South-East Asian dishes alongside one another and offering dishes that are inspired combinations of such cuisines. Other examples of this style include Tex-Mex, which combines southwest United States cuisine and Mexican cuisines, and Pacific Rim cuisine, which combines the different cuisines of the various island nations.

Ching-He Huang (Chinese: 黃瀞億) (born 28 November 1978) is a Taiwanese-born British food writer, food entrepreneur and TV chef who has appeared in a variety of television cooking shows. Ching has starred in three popular TV series and is the author of five best-selling cookbooks. She has developed a range of Ching-branded Woks, tableware, Chinese cooking and preparation utensils marketed by Typhoon Housewares, as well as branded exotic mushrooms grown in the UK and available through Tesco.

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Huang spent most of her early childhood in South Africa before her parents moved to London, England when she was 11 years old. Educated at Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London and Bocconi Business School in Milan, Huang graduated with a first class economics degree and set up her own food businesses, Fuge Ltd and TZU.

Ching often reinvents favourite Chinese dishes, and cooks them in a style often different from most conventional Chinese restaurants in the UK. Her aim is to use fresh and simple ingredients.

Claudio Vargas Almonte (born on June 19, 1978, in Santa Cruz de Mao, Dominican Republic) is a former Dominican professional baseball pitcher for the Montreal Expos/Washington Nationals, Arizona Diamondbacks, Milwaukee Brewers, New York Mets, and Los Angeles Dodgers. He both started games and also pitched in both middle and long relief during his career.

His nickname among Brewers fans was the "Magic Man" because of his ability to get himself into bases loaded situations and escape with little or no damage.

Vargas was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Florida Marlins in 1995 at age 16 and made his professional debut with the Marlins Dominican Summer League team, where he played in 1996 and 1997. In 1998 he pitched for the rookie league Gulf Coast Marlins and the Class-A Brevard County Manatees. He continued to pitch in the Marlins system through 2001 with the Kane County Cougars, Portland Sea Dogs and Calgary Cannons.

On July 11, 2002, he was traded by the Marlins (along with Wilton Guerrero, Cliff Floyd and cash) to the Montreal Expos for Donald Levinski, Justin Wayne, Carl Pavano, Mike Mordecai and Graeme Lloyd. In the Expos minor league system he pitched for the Harrisburg Senators and Edmonton Trappers.
