Benjamin "Ben" Brafman (born July 21, 1948) is a criminal defense attorney based in New York. He maintains a firm focused on criminal defense, Brafman Associates, in New York City and has handled cases for numerous high-profile clients.

Brafman received an ultra-Orthodox education. He is a graduate of Brooklyn College and Ohio Northern University College of Law. He also has an LL.M. from New York University School of Law.

Brafman's client list has included Jacob Arabo, James Patino, Peter Gatien, Plaxico Burress, Michael Jackson,Carl Kruger,Charles Kushner,Marvell Scott, Rocco Murdocca ("The gut plumber of Brooklyn"), Vincent Basciano,^{[citation needed]}Sean Combs, Jay-Z, crime boss Salvatore "Sammy the Bull" Gravano, online gambling king Jay Cohen and Dominique Strauss-Kahn.

Brafman's profile rose following his winning the acquittal of Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, who was acquitted from his 1999 illegal weapons and bribery charges. The criminal charges stemmed from a nightclub brawl, while accompanied by then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez and Combs' usual entourage, and witnessed by over 100 other people. Despite the numerous prosecution witnesses to Combs' culpability, and Combs' fame, Brafman's legal skills produced a unanimous 'not guilty' verdict.

The fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman took place on February 26, 2012, in Sanford, Florida, United States. Trayvon Martin was a 17-year-old African American male who was unarmed. George Zimmerman was a 28-year-old multi-racial Hispanic American, who was the community watch coordinator for the gated community where the shooting took place.

While on a private errand, Zimmerman saw Martin walking inside the gated community where Martin and his father were visiting his father's fiancée. Zimmerman called the Sanford Police Department to report Martin's behavior as suspicious. Shortly afterwards, there was an altercation, which ended with Zimmerman fatally shooting Martin once in the chest at close range.

When police arrived on the scene Zimmerman told them that Martin had attacked him and that he had shot Martin in self-defense. Zimmerman was bleeding from the nose and two vertical lacerations on the back of his head.EMTs treated Zimmerman at the scene, after which he was taken to the Sanford Police Department. Zimmerman was detained and questioned for approximately five hours. A statement was videotaped, and he was then released without being charged. Police said that they had not found evidence to contradict his assertion of self-defense.

A crisis management specialist, his agency's clients include corporations, celebrities, hip-hop musicians, politicians, lobby groups, and political parties around the world. He is an active supporter of Jewish and Israeli causes.

Torossian was born in Midwood, Brooklyn in 1974 and grew up in The Bronx. While at the SUNY Albany, Torossian became president of the American branch of Betar, the international Zionist youth movement associated with Israel's conservative Likud party.. After college, he moved to Israel, and founded an organization called "Yerushalayim Shelanu" (Our Jerusalem), which promoted Jewish settlement in the Arab sectors of Jerusalem. He returned to the U.S. after a year and a half.

Torossian began his career in public relations in 1998, working with then New York City Council speaker Peter Vallone, Sr. during Vallone's trip to Israel. He also worked for the Likud Party in Israel. In 2002 he was the media director for the Christian Coalition of America.
