Barbadian British people, or Bajan-Brits are citizens or residents of the United Kingdom whose ethnic origins lie fully or partially in the Caribbean island of Barbados. The UK is home to the second largest Barbadian-born migrant population out of all the OECD countries, with the 2001 Census recording 21,601 UK residents born on the Caribbean island, compared to the 53,785 Barbadian-born residents of the United States.

Historically migration from Barbados to the UK was fairly simple, since many Barbadians once held overseas British citizenship (see: Barbados and British nationality), but the number of Barbadians migrating to the UK increased after the 1952 McCarran Act put "severe curbs" on Caribbean immigration to the nearby United States. In 1955, the Barbados government established a Sponsored Workers Scheme and appointed an officer in London to help find work for Barbadians in the UK, due to the perception that population pressure was too great in Barbados. Between 1955 and 1966, more than 27,000 Barbadians migrated to the UK. This represented the largest mass migration from the Caribbean island since 45,000 people emigrated to Panama in the 1900s and 1910s, and was part of a wider migration of people from the Caribbean to the UK which saw 550,000 people migrate between 1948 and 1973, with the majority doing so before the passing of the Commonwealth Immigrants Act 1962. They were recruited to fill labour shortages in the UK in sectors such as transport and healthcare. Migration from Barbados to the UK between 1951 and 1971 represented 12 per cent of the population of Barbados.

Dale Maurice Richards (born 16 July 1976) is a West Indian international cricketer who plays first class cricket for Barbados.

A right-handed batsman, Richards debuted in 1999/00. His highest first class score of 159 was made against Jamaica in the Carib Beer Series of 2006/07.

Richards was called up for the West Indies' tour of England in 2009 but although he featured in two warm-up matches, he was forced to return home with a shoulder injury.

He subsequently made his Test debut against Bangladesh when a number of West Indian players made themselves unavailable. He played both Tests, scoring 108 runs with a top score of 69.

He then played the first two One Day Internationals against Bangladesh and two matches during the West Indies' 2009 ICC Champions Trophy campaign before being called up to the West Indies squad for the second ODI against South Africa in 2010.

Elizabeth Ann Jones, known as Liz Jones (born 5 September 1958), is a British journalist and writer.

She originally followed a career in fashion journalism, but her work has broadened into confessional writing. Jones divides opinion. While she has gained positive responses, a "beautifully natural writer, as well as a funny one" according to Deborah Ross in The Independent, some of her articles have also received fierce criticism.

A former editor of Marie Claire, she has been on the staff of The Sunday Times and the Evening Standard. Jones currently writes columns for the Daily Mail and the The Mail on Sunday.

An anorexic since she was about 11, Jones was raised in Essex, the daughter of an army father and a former ballerina, and the youngest of seven children (her siblings are Claire, Philip, Nick (1949-2011), Lynnie, Tony & Sue). She grew up in the village of Rettendon. Jones attended Brentwood County High School for Girls and studied journalism at the London College of Printing.

After leaving college, she began to work for Company magazine in 1981, initially as a sub-editor, eventually becoming a staff writer before leaving to go freelance in 1986. In 1989 she began an 11-year stint at The Sunday Times magazine, becoming deputy editor of their "Style" magazine in 1998.

Emmerson Nathaniel Trotman (b. 10 November 1954) is a former West Indies cricketer who played for the Rebel West Indies side in South Africa.

Born in Paradise Village, Christ Church, Barbados, Trotman also played for Barbados and Border in South Africa. In 1989 he was a South African Cricket Annual Cricketer of the Year.

Following his retirement as a player, Trotman coached Netherlands cricket team from 1996 until 2004, including at the 2003 Cricket World Cup.
