Bajaj Group is an Indian conglomerate founded by Jamnalal Bajaj in 1926, Mumbai. Bajaj Group is one of the oldest & largest conglomerates based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The group comprises 34 companies & its flagship company Bajaj Auto is ranked as the world's fourth largest two- and three-wheeler manufacturer. Some of the notable companies are Bajaj Electricals, Mukand Ltd & Bajaj Hindusthan Ltd. Involvement in various industries that include automobiles (2- and 3-wheelers), home appliances, lighting, iron and steel, insurance, travel and finance. The Group is headed by Rahul Bajaj.

The Bajaj Group of Companies was founded by Jamnalal Bajaj. An astute businessman, Jamanalal’s foresight in picking the right business at the right time that generated phenomenal growth. However, his business interests were the means to a larger and holistic end. Very active during India’s freedom struggle, Jamanalal was a philanthropist who delighted in donating most of his wealth for worthy causes. From the beginning, Jamanalal was always more involved in social and philanthropic activities rather than business.

Rahul Bajaj (born 10 June 1938) is an Indian businessman, politician and philanthropist. He is the chairman of Indian conglomerate Bajaj Group and member of parliament. Bajaj comes from the business house started by a Rajasthani Marwadi businessman Jamnalal Bajaj. He was awarded the third highest civilian award Padma Bhushan in 2001.

Rahul Bajaj is an alumnus of Harvard Business School in USA, St. Stephen's College, Delhi, Government Law College, Mumbai and Cathedral and John Connon School.

He took over the reins of Bajaj Group in 1965. Under his stewardship, the turnover of the Bajaj Auto the flagship company has risen from Rs.72 million to Rs.46.16 billion. Rahul Bajaj created one of India's best companies in the difficult days of the licence-permit raj. He established factories at Akurdi and Waluj. In 1980s Bajaj Auto was top scooter producer in India and its Chetak brand had a 10-year waiting period.

His sons Rajiv Bajaj and Sanjiv Bajaj are involved in the management of his companies. His daughter Sunaina Kejriwal is married to Manish Kejriwal who heads Temasek India.

Amritpal Singh (born 6 October 1983) is an Indian track and field athlete from Punjab who specializes in long jump. He holds the current national record of 8.08 metres in long jump. On 16 March 2004, Amritpal broke one of the oldest national records in Indian athletics – T. C. Yohannan's 3-decade-old record in the long jump – by leaping to a distance of 8.08 metres in the 10th Federation Cup Athletics Championships at the Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.

Born on 6 October 1983 in Sangrur district of Punjab in India, Amritpal is only the third Indian to go beyond the magical eight-metre mark in the long jump; the others being T. C. Yohannan of Kerala and Sanjay Kumar Rai (8.02m and 8.03m in 2000) of Uttar Pradesh. He works for Punjab Police as an Inspector.

Though Amritpal had passed the qualifying norm of 8.05 m for the 2004 Athens Olympics, he was left out because of unsatisfactory form and fitness.
