Scottish Canadians are people of Scottish descent or heritage living in Canada. As the third-largest ethnic group in Canada and among the first to settle in Canada, Scottish people have made a large impact on Canadian culture since colonial times. According to the 2001 Census of Canada, the number of Canadians claiming full or partial Scottish descent is 5,219,850 [3], or 15.10% of the nation's total population, however this is said to be a major underestimation.

Scottish people have a long history in Canada, dating back several centuries. Many towns, rivers and mountains have been named in honour of Scottish explorers and traders such as Mackenzie Bay and Calgary is named after a Scottish beach. Most notably, the Atlantic province of Nova Scotia is Latin for New Scotland. Once Scots formed the vanguard of the movement of Europeans across the continent. In more modern times, emigrants from Scotland have played a leading role in the social, political and economic history of Canada, being prominent in banking, labour unions, and politics.

Gavin Miles McInnes (born 1970) is a British Canadian writer, musician, and comedian. Referred to as "the Godfather of hipsterdom" and "the primary architect of hipsterdom" McInnes is often credited with starting the contemporary hipster movement, mostly via Vice Magazine’s “DOs & DON’Ts” column.

McInnes was born in Hitchin, England and moved to Canada when he was 4. His parents are Glaswegian. His father is the vice president of operations at Gallium, a high-tech company specializing in defense. His mother is a retired business teacher.

Along with Suroosh Alvi and Shane Smith, McInnes founded Vice Magazine in 1994. Originally a low-budget magazine entitled Voice of Montreal, Vice has since expanded itself into a glossy mass-market magazine, a record label, a film company, and a clothing line, among other projects.

Gavin McInnes was the most public figure associated with Vice due to the popularity of his contributions to the magazine and his outspoken, occasionally controversial nature. He wrote hundreds of articles for the magazine, including The Vice Guide to Eating Pussy, and he was the author of the magazine's regular "DOs and DON'Ts" feature.

Lena Wilson (ca. 1898 – ca. 1939) was an American blues singer in the classic female blues style. After performing in vaudeville with her brother Danny and his wife Edith Wilson, she made numerous recordings in the 1920s as a solo artist.

Wilson was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. She was an adopted child. About 1918–1920 she sang with her brother Danny Wilson as a vaudeville act on the TOBA circuit in the South. In 1921 they performed in Louisville, Kentucky, on a bill with Edith Goodall, who soon married Danny and joined their act as a trio. Danny, a pianist who had trained at a conservatory in Charleston, South Carolina, encouraged Lena and Edith to sing not just blues but other song forms as well.

Lena Wilson's major recordings were made between 1922 and 1924, and in 1930. She variously worked with the Nubian Five, Perry Bradford's Jazz Phools, Conaway's Rag Pickers, Fletcher Henderson, Johnny Dunn's Jazz Hounds, Danny Wilson and Edith Wilson. Additionally, she recorded under her own name with an ensemble called the Jazz Hounds, featuring Gus Aiken on trumpet, Garvin Bushell on clarinet, Herb Fleming on trombone, John Mitchell on banjo, and Porter Grainger and Cliff Jackson on piano. Among her recordings are "Memphis, Tennessee", "Tain't Nobody's Biz-ness If I Do", "Chiropractor Blues", and "Love Ain't Blind No More".

Angelo Tsarouchas is a Canadian comedian/actor, cousin of George Tsarouchas, whose parents are originally from Greece. A large element of his stand-up comedy revolves around the parody of his Greek origins.

Evangelos Petros Tsarouchas (Born: Montreal, Quebec, Canada) was raised by a Greek mother and father, his first language was Greek (in his words "my Mom couldn't speak English, so we spoke mainly Greek in the house"),[1] and is an internationally known stand-up comic. Angelo Tsarouchas has toured extensively throughout the world, making him one of the most requested comics year round. He married his Armenian American girlfriend, Alina Basil on October 10, 2010 in Los Angeles, California.

Recently, he was showcased at the UK Paramount Comedy Festival, South African Comedy Festival and Montreal's Just for Laughs. Angelos' diverse talent has also landed him on the big screen with appearances in The Score, John Q, The Recruit, The Prince and Me, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle and Cinderella Man, and most recently in his first starring role in the award winning film Fred and Vinnie, where he plays the world's fattest vegetarian and agoraphob. Angelos' material appeals to an incredibly wide range of audiences, his recent one hour special on Showtime "Bigger is Better" has been viewed more than 14 million times. He wrote and performed his one-man show "It's All Greek to Me" which has received rave reviews. The same titled comedy CD has also reached number one in Australia, keeping him in demand year round.
