Sara Lynn Evans (born February 5, 1971) is an American country singer and songwriter. For her entire career, she has been signed to RCA Records Nashville.
Evans' debut, Three Chords and the Truth, did not produce a Top 40 hit on the Hot Country Songs charts. She followed this up with No Place That Far (1998), Born to Fly (2000), Restless (2003) and Real Fine Place (2005). No Place That Far received a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), while the other three albums all were certified platinum. These discs include the number 1 singles "No Place That Far", "Born to Fly", "Suds in the Bucket" and "A Real Fine Place to Start", plus the top 10 hits "I Could Not Ask for More" (a cover of the Edwin McCain song), "I Keep Looking", "Perfect" and "Cheatin'". Her 2007 Greatest Hits included the top 20 hits "You'll Always Be My Baby" and "As If". Stronger (2011) included her fifth number 1 hit, "A Little Bit Stronger", which was co-written by Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum.
Vincent Grant "Vince" Gill (born April 12, 1957) is an American country singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He has achieved commercial success and fame both as frontman to the country rock band Pure Prairie League in the 1970s, and as a solo artist beginning in 1983, where his talents as a vocalist and musician have placed him in high demand as a guest vocalist, and a duet partner. Gill has recorded more than twenty studio albums, charted over forty singles on the U.S. Billboard charts as Hot Country Songs, and has sold more than 22 million albums. He has been honored by the Country Music Association with 18 CMA Awards, including two Entertainer of the Year awards and five Male Vocalist Awards. Gill has also earned 27 Grammy Awards, more than any other male Country music artist. In 2007, Gill was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Vincent Grant "Vince" Gill was born in Norman, Oklahoma. His father, J. Stanley Gill, was a lawyer and administrative law judge who played in a country music band part time and encouraged Gill to pursue a music career. At the encouragement of his father, Gill learned to play several instruments, including the banjo and guitar, before he started high school at Oklahoma City's Northwest Classen High School. He first played with a teenage band called Bluegrass Revues in the late 1970s. The other members were: Billy Perry on the banjo, Bobby Clark on the triangle and Mike Perry on the bass.
Christopher Eric Hitchens (13 April 1949 – 15 December 2011) was an English American author and journalist whose career spanned more than four decades. Hitchens, often referred to colloquially as "Hitch", was a columnist and literary critic for New Statesman, The Atlantic, The Nation, The Daily Mirror, The Times Literary Supplement and Vanity Fair. He was an author of twelve books and five collections of essays. As a staple of talk shows and lecture circuits, he was a prominent public intellectual, and his confrontational style of debate made him both a lauded and controversial figure.
Hitchens was known for his admiration of George Orwell, Thomas Paine and Thomas Jefferson, as well as for his excoriating critiques of various public figures including Mother Teresa, Bill Clinton, Henry Kissinger and Diana, Princess of Wales. Although he supported the Falklands War, his key split from the established political left began in 1989 after what he called the "tepid reaction" of the Western left to the Rushdie Affair. The September 11 attacks strengthened his internationalist embrace of an interventionist foreign policy, and his vociferous criticism of what he called "fascism with an Islamic face." His numerous editorials in support of the Iraq War caused some to label him a neoconservative, although Hitchens insisted he was not "a conservative of any kind", and his friend Ian McEwan describes him as representing the anti-totalitarian left.
Clinton Richard Dawkins, FRS, FRSL (born 26 March 1941), known as Richard Dawkins, is a British ethologist, evolutionary biologist and author. He is an emeritus fellow of New College, Oxford, and was the University of Oxford's Professor for Public Understanding of Science from 1995 until 2008.
Dawkins came to prominence with his 1976 book The Selfish Gene, which popularised the gene-centered view of evolution and introduced the term meme. In 1982 he introduced an influential concept into evolutionary biology, presented in his book The Extended Phenotype, that the phenotypic effects of a gene are not necessarily limited to an organism's body, but can stretch far into the environment, including the bodies of other organisms.
Dawkins is an atheist, a vice president of the British Humanist Association, and a supporter of the Brights movement. He is well known for his criticism of creationism and intelligent design. In his 1986 book The Blind Watchmaker, he argued against the watchmaker analogy, an argument for the existence of a supernatural creator based upon the complexity of living organisms. Instead, he described evolutionary processes as analogous to a blind watchmaker. He has since written several popular science books, and makes regular television and radio appearances, predominantly discussing these topics. In his 2006 book The God Delusion, Dawkins contends that a supernatural creator almost certainly does not exist and that religious faith is a delusion—"a fixed false belief." As of January 2010 the English-language version has sold more than two million copies and had been translated into 31 languages.
I live down the street in a broken down house
And a car up on blocks in the driveway
The moment we meet, there was never a doubt
That we won’t forget this Sunday
It starts with a smile and a walk in miles
And it all leads to this - our first kiss
All my friends are saying
Girl, what are you thinking?
You’re better off, you’re better off without him
Find yourself another
Girl, that boy is trouble
You’re better off, you’re better off
They can talk forever, they just don’t know better
We drive around town in a rusty old truck
Somehow it feels like we’re flying
Don’t wanna come down
But they make it so tough
Just everyone we know is trying
To push us apart hide it down in our hearts
And they get what they want cause you're gone
All my friends are saying
Girl, why are you crying?
You’re better off, you’re better off without him
Find yourself another
Girl, that boy is trouble
You’re better off, you’re better off
They can talk forever, they just don’t know better
You come to my door
In the pouring rain
We know what we don’t have to say
You hand me a rose and a note that says
We don’t have to do things their way
All my friends are saying
Girl, what are you thinking?
You’re better off, you’re better off without him
Find yourself another
Girl, that boy is trouble
You’re better off, you’re better off
Breaking the static, a life automatic.
Everyone mad about you.
Look like a dirty old bruise,
Face like a faded tattoo.
Life imitated, it's so inflated.
Tired of waiting on you.
What did you want me to do,
Sit here and dream about...
Oh no, oh no, oh no!
You know you're better off, you bastard, bastard, bastard.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You know I'm better off, you bastard, bastard, bastard.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
Now that you're sane and the picture you painted.
Don't really look much like you.
Little more long in the tooth, what do you know about truth?
Is it there and it's just interfering, life isn't fair but I knew.
What if I'm haunted by you, every time that I...
Oh no, oh no, oh no!
You know you're better off, you bastard, bastard, bastard.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You know we're better off, you bastard, bastard, bastard.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
You are my favorite disaster.
Finally time to clear the air.
Just don't forget to breathe.
Please don't forget to breathe.
Everyone's better off this way.
So take it away.
Take it away.
Take it away.
You know you're better off, you bastard, bastard, bastard.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You know we're better off, you bastard, bastard, bastard.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
Just don't forget to breathe.
Please don't forget to breathe.
Everyone's better off this way.
So take it away.
Take it away.
Take it away.
Funnin' round Grandpa's farm
Really groovin' on the baby pigs
Oh, I know they haven't even read the books I know
Yeah, I understand the telephone
But I really love to watch you talk your talk
I love to watch you
Maybe we're better off
I feel young dancing with you
It happened all by itself
What are we browning here for?
Haven't we seen through this whole thing yet
Gonna get together gonna write us a book
Call it, 'Stop Running The World'
Look like I'm back in business all over again
Maybe we're better off
Looking at you, looking at you there
Little better, it happened all by itself
I see that time is fast
I see the same hands on that same clock move
Way too slow
I'll quit talking about mys-
I swear I'll quit talking about myself
Maybe you can whisper enough here
So I can start thinking about you
Maybe we're better off
Sure right looking at you
Let's not confuse association
Something we both really like
I swear I quit talking
I swear I quit talking about myself
Just as soon as I learn to stop talking at all
It would be better off
Just feel you thinking about you (?)
Maybe we're better off
Feel good looking at you
The sky is falling
And it's early in the morning
But it's ok somehow
I spilt my coffee, it went
All over your clothes
I gotta wear mine now
And im always, always,always late
And my hair's a mess,
Even when it's straight
But so what,
I'm better off everyday
When i'm standing in the pouring rain, I dont mind
I think of you and everythings alright
I used to think i had it good
But now i know that i misunderstood
With you I'd say, i'm better off in every way
My friends keep callin'
They say, they say im stallin'
And they wanna meet you now
I tell them hell no, i say
We're tryin' to lay low
Don't wanna lose what i've found
Things are finally, finally lookin' up
Oh my feet are on the ground
Even though im stuck
But so what,
I'm better off everyday
When i'm standing in the pouring rain, I dont mind
I think of you and everythings alright
I used to think i had it good
But now i know that i misunderstood
With you I'd say, i'm better off in every way
Things are finally, finally lookin' up
Oh my feet are on the ground
Even though im stuck
Even though im stuck
But so what,
I'm better off everyday
When i'm standing in the pouring rain, I dont mind
I think of you and everythings alright
I used to think i had it good
But now i know that i misunderstood
With you I'd say, i'm better off in every way
Yeah, yeah
Better off in every way
I'm better off in every way
I'm better off today
The sky is falling
And it's early in the morning
Well I've packed my bags
I'm moving on
Yes I've been way too far too long
Cuz living with you is like a hole in the head
I know that I'll soon be better off
Cuz living with you is like a hole in the head
I know, well I know
That I don't care about anyone
You know that I'm better off (better off)
Well I don't care about anyone
You know that I'm better off
Oh I've explained
Get off my back
Far too long that I've lost track
Cuz living with you is like a hole in the head
I know that I'll soon be better off
Cuz living with you is like a hole in the head
I know, well I know
That I don't care about anyone
You know that I'm better off (better off)
I don't care about anyone
You know that I'm better off
This is as good as it gets
And you know that
I don't care about anyone
You know that i'm better off, better off
I don't care about anyone
You know that I'm better off
I don't care about anyone
You know that I'm better off
I don't care about anyone
You know that I'm better off
I don't care about anyone
You know that I'm better off
Another weekend night. Every other night.
Every time's a good time to get out of the house.
Plenty of friends around, always up for heaading downtown.
Just as long as she can get out of the house.
I guess it's going on two years since she filled that house with tears.
All the stitching fell apart and she could no longer call it a home.
Her husband ran away when all the problems came.
Yeah, that quitter quit and he left his wife all alone.
Here's to hoping she won't rush into things.
If there's one thing she needs to learn is how to play it safe.
Her dad is always there, her brother's down the street.
And I hope she knows she can call anytime she needs.
If she's had too much to drink. If she just can't get to sleep.
If something goes wrong and she's stuck on the side of the road.
If there's one thing she needs to learn, besides how to play it safe,
is that no matter how she feels she should never ever feel alone.
She's bettter off without all these bastards who only lie when they talk.
She's better off filling up her closet, filling up the void, and feeding her dogs.
She's better off... knowing it doesn't matter that he's gone.
She's better off moving on
The sun is up she's on her way to work and on the drive she's thinking about that jerk who tried to pick her up last night.
She's feeling sorry for his wife.
Wondering if he's got kids wondering where their father is.
The only thing she knows for sure is...
She's better off without all these bastards tho only lie when they talk.
She's better off filling up her closet, filling up the void, and feeding her dogs.
She's better off... knowing it doesn't matter that he's gone.
leave him, he's not worth the pain, he's not worth it at all. maybe he just made mistakes, i know he's not so serious. ask yourself 'am I improving? the memories are all so numb. it' s just what he wants, he doesn't see how beautiful you are. i say it from the heart, when will you see that i need you. please do stop and think about, that you're better off with me. look around, do you see him? when problems come he seems to disappear. you said he's starting to understand, but I think he doesn't have a brain. he's the guy who loves to fuck around. the kind that breaks the heart of girls like you, please do stop and think about, you're better off with a loser l

Wish I'd known the way, wish I'd found the door
wish I took the path you showed me before
'cause i'd be better off, i'd be a better man
if i was what you want, and not what i am
careful what you wish, i am a dream come true now
i'm someone else who only wanted you
'cause i'd be better off, i'd be a better man
if i was what you want, and not what i am
i don't fear the break, i can't feel the bend
if i was what you want then i know, i know i can
please believe in me, don't be leaving me
i won't be thrown away
please believe in me, don't be leaving me
i try to make it plain that i can change
i can change
wish i'd know the way, wish i could find the door
that can take us back to where we were before
where we were better off, i was a better man
i was what you wanted and not what i am
i don't fear the break, i can't feel the bend
if it's what you want, then i know i can
cause i'd be better off, i'd be a better man
I'm feeling like, I need to go somewhere else tonight.
Cause I am so tired here and nothing seems alright.
The world it turns around on me and I am spinning.
I'm always far behind, I'm never in front, I'm never winning.
Simply put, I need a break from everything that I am.
Simply put, I need a rest from everything that I can.
[Chorus]
I think I'm better off alone and standing here.
I think I'm better off alone and standing here.
Simply put, I need a break from everything that I am.
Simply put, I need a rest from everything that I can.
I think I'm better off alone.. [x2]
Let's go!
I pray
every ounce
of faith
I bleed
I burn
ritualize
please help me
help me
help me
help me
help me
help me
help me
help me
I'm careful
not to break
tripped
out of my mind
It's come to the point where you've lost me
I've got no more inside
It's come to the point where you've lost me
I've got no more inside
Whatcha say?
You're better off without me
you're better off without me
you're better off without me
you're better off without me
You're better off without me!
One simple thing
is all I ask
stop this
why won't you sympathize?
It's come to the point where you've lost me
I've got no more inside
It's come to the point where you've lost me
I've got no more inside
Whatcha say?
You're better off without me
you're better off without me
you're better off without me
you're better off without me
you're better off without me
you're better off without me
you're better off without me
I could call your mother to tell her the truth,
She could give the message to you.
I could write a letter or give you a note,
But I won't,
I won't.
Because you're better off
To never know
My alibi
Which is loving you so.
I never cheated or looked astray,
Don't know who spread that fire,
But I think that you know deep down inside
You are my hearts desire.
Because you're better off
To never know
My alibi
Which is loving you so.
I hold you back, I hold your hand.
You're better off when your're your own man.
Baby, take your last look, don't say goodbye.
Love don't mean that much anyway.
Don't give me a hard time if I close my eyes,
I'm okay.
I'm okay.
I could write a letter or give you a note,
But I won't,
You're a ghost,
the mistake I miss the most
and I'm losing hope.
‘Cause all and all,
there's nothing left to change.
You're exposed,
when the heart and mind aren't close.
A forgotten road
that disappears before I find a way
to get you to stay
You didn't change your mind,
but you're not better off.
I couldn't take back time...
I'm not better off
So all that could've been is paper thin
and we'll never know, we'll never know
You're a curse
that can never be reversed
and it's getting worse
(when we both know that I'm the one to blame)
And to you,
how could I be untrue?
My grip so loose,
that holding on is all that remains
when you don't feel the same
You didn't change your mind,
but you're not better off.
I couldn't take back time...
I'm not better off
So all that could've been is paper thin
and we'll never know, we'll never know
You didn't change your mind,
but you're not better off.
I couldn't take back time...
I'm not better off
So all that could've been is paper thin
and we'll never know, we'll never know
And me, I'm always wrong.
Couldn't make you see
the silver lining sewn on.
It's me, the one you lean on.
We can find some common ground
to believe in, believe it.
You didn't change your mind,
but you're not better off.
I couldn't take back time...
I'm not better off
So all that could've been is paper thin
and we'll never know, we'll never know
You didn't change your mind,
but you're not better off.
I couldn't take back time...
I'm not better off
So all that could've been is paper thin
I don't know (I don't know)
I don't know (I don't know)
I don't know (I don't know)
I don't know (I don't know)
Baby I don't know if I can let you
Get that close to me again
Cause last time I let you
Our life was one big argument
And I'm willing to bet you
That we'd be better off as friends
Can you accept just being friends
You're telling me that we should sit down
And talk about us
But truthfully, I really don't agree
Cause we don't have much to discuss
For some reason you think that we could work it out
I have serious doubts
Baby I don't know if I can let you
Get that close to me again
Cause last time I let you
Our life was one big argument
And I'm willing to bet you
That we'd be better off as friends
Can you accept just being friends
If I said that I didn't still care about
That would be the biggest lie I could ever tell
I'm just tryna save myself from the drama
Cause we have gone through so much hell
And I don't wanna go back
Baby I don't know if I can let you
Get that close to me again
Cause last time I let you
Our life was one big argument
And I'm willing to bet you
That we'd be better off as friends
Can you accept just being friends
Baby I don't know if I can let you
Get that close to me again
Cause last time I let you
Our life was one big argument
And I'm willing to bet you
That we'd be better off as friends
Can you accept just being friends
Let's be friends and only friends
I bet you we should just be friends and only friends
Baby I don't know if I can let you
Get that close to me again
Cause last time I let you
Our life was one big argument
And I'm willing to bet you
That we'd be better off as friends
listen in realaudio
Shot gun blast from a young mans past
Couldn't take no more
Had to even the score
Old man dies with the truth he denies
He won't harm noone
Not his only son
Standing with the gun on his shoulder
Never thought he'd live to be older
Chorus
Is he better off now
That his father is dead
Ever since a boy he's been trying to forget
Mama never was what a mother should be
But a loser
Such a loser
Jumped on his bike he would ride all night
Run away from it all
Leave the nightmare behind
Wake in the morning in a brand new place
Where the people he'd meet
Didn't know his face
He don't really know where he's going
And he can't forget where he's been
Chorus
Fly on your wings
Up to the sky
Only your dreams can heal you
Away from the dark
Into the light
Now you can see the real you
Standing with your life on your shoulders
Never thought you'd live to be older
Every time I watch you go
Hate to see you, you know when you fall
Under mine I hold your hand
You know this time I will understand
And I know you'll someday
Through the dark you know I see it in your face
I know you'll some day
Been so long you know I'm breathing
But every time you go
If you want it that way
You're better off alone
So won't you hold my hand
I will catch you anywhere you land
Sooner or later when I am through
I'll come back and to the same as you
And I know you'll someday
Through the dark you know I see it in your face
I know you'll some day
Been so long you know I'm breathing
But every time you go
If you want it that way
You're better off alone
And you hold it close
And you hold it though
They'll be an end
Still we don't know
We don't know
So won't you hold my hand
You know this time I will understand
And I know you'll someday
Been so long you know I'm breathing
But every time you go
If you want it that way
In the night, in the light of the day
Between the night and the light of the day
Between the night and the light of the day
Between the night and the light of the day
I'm better off in the shade
My head turned to a battlefield
Behind a disguise
My thoughts are lies
Can't tell 'cause my lips are sealed
I'll never be heard, if I'm not sayin' a word
Though now, no explonation that will ever do
No special location fit for the truth
Can't tell 'cause my lips are sealed
My head turned to a battlefield
In the night, in the light of the day
I'm better off, better off in
Between the night and the light of the day
I'm better off in the shade
I lock myself inside, nothing else
There's nobody there, to hear my prayers
Standin' naked, still I'm fully dressed up
Covered by fear, let it all show and cheer
Running out of reasons to try
Beckoning to see, I'm way up high
It's all in my head, it's in my mind
Never look for anyone else to find
Better off
Better off
Better off
Knock knock who could it be could it be my ex chicadee whos at the door
Standing in the rain down on her knees in public we smiled walking hand & hand
But behind closed doors things were different 24/7 we were arguing & I tried
My best to be a better man all of your friends think I'm a crazy man
Cause that's the way you portraited me to be now I don't care what you think
No cause you know that I was good to you and now I'm saying
[Chorus:]
I'm leaving you shorty our days are through wasted days wasted nights with you
I'll be better off without you I tried my best to make you understand no no no
But you didn't I'm over iy you'll realize what you had & when you do
Don't come runn'n back say'n you miss me you need me that I'm your one and only no all of my friends
Say I'm a simple man & that's just how I intended it to be now
I don't care what you think no cause you know I gave my best to you & now it's too late I'm leaving you...
Why do I, still want to answer every time you call?
And I've got to try, to cut out this cancer before it gets to strong.
I'm better off.
Better off without you.
I'm better off.
Better off without you.
I never thought that you would lie to me the way you do.
I'm better off
Better off without you.
Killing it will end the torture but never stop the pain.
What kind of idiot makes a fortune just to piss it all away?
Yeah
I'm better off.
Better off without you.
I'm better off.
Better off without you.
I never thought you would lie to me the way you do.
I'm better off
I'm better off without you.
Its hard to forgive when you can't forget.
And now somehow I despise the day that we met.
Yeah, yeah
I never thought that you would lie to me the way you do.
I used to think it would end up being me and you.
I never thought I'd ever leave you for someone else.
I'm better off
Better off without you.
I'm better off
Better off without you
Better off without you
Your giving up after all that's said and done
I'm begging you to change your mind
Forever you will be someone in my eyes
And darling forgiveness starts with S and ends with Y
The cleansing of a broken heart
I cry out
This fever for redemption,
This feeling that everything is broken
So I cry out
This fever for redemption.
So I scream out loud
"You're leaving for the last time"
I'll be better off without you on my own
Your giving up after all that's said and done
Forget forever it's good bye
Forever was just a myth inside my mind
And darling forgiveness starts with S and ends with Y
The cleansing of a broken heart
I cry out
This fever for redemption,
This feeling that everything is broken
So I cry out
This fever for redemption
All the words we used to say
All seem so insignificant today
And your excuses sound the same
Watch me as I walk away
So I scream out loud
"You're leaving for the last time"
I'll be better off without you on my own
So I scream out loud
"You're leaving for the last time"
Always by your side, you cheated stole and lied
So tell me who’s to point their finger?
The years go by so fast; I won’t live in the past
I’ve moved on and I don’t need you
Were you ever on my side?
You’ve taken everything that’s mine
I don’t care that he is with you
Cause I am better off without you
Always there for you, honest tried and true
Yet you didn’t really trust me
Were you ever there for me? Did I ever care to see?
All the times that you deceived me
Were you ever on my side?
You’ve taken everything that’s mine
I don’t care that he is with you
Cause I am better off without you
Reach for me and I’m not there, hold me now and I don’t care
I’ve moved on and I don’t need you
Always by your side, you cheated stole and lied
So tell me who’s to point their finger?
Were you ever on my side?
You’ve taken everything that’s mine
I don’t care that he is with you
Cause I am better off without you
I am better off without you
I am better off without you
I am better off without

Don't get so excited
You're likely to hurt yourself.
You're head looks disproportionate
From pushing too hard to believe
You're not wrong,
Just better off thinking it was only love.
It hurts like a splinter stuck in your foot
And you've tried, but can't get it out.
And of course, you walk in the heat for miles.
You forget the pain, but it comes back after a while.
You're not wrong,
Just better off thinking it was only love.
You're not wrong,
Just better off thinking it was only love, it was only love.
instrumental break-
You're not wrong,
Just better off thinking it was only love.
You're not wrong,
So hard for me to trust when all people do is take.
Not gonna sit around and await my next mistake.
Take you down with me, pull the knife from my back.
Try to apologize but I take everything back.
I'd be better off with you than dead.
I'd be better off with you than dead.
I'd be better off with you than dead.
I'd be better off with you than dead.
I see that the ends never justify the means.
It wasn't my mistake that you walked into my scene.
All you did was take, there wasn't much left of me.
Nothing left but clotted blood, shadows of memory.
You're nothing but a fake, a chameleon in my head.
Hide against memories, I'd be better off with you than dead.
I thought the act was sincere, but now I see the truth.
I've fallen for this too many times.
Give em more you say like it doesn't cost a dime
Give em what they need, a soothing nursery rhyme
Give it all you've got, like a star that's fading fast
Give em more and more and more as you fade into the past
This is not what I want
.. Don't hold me to my world
This is not what I need
.. Consume me in your world
This is all that I've got
.. This ringing in my head
This is all that I want
.. And I'd be better off dead
Shave it from your bones, extract is from your skin
Give your very soul and then start over again
Make it seem so real as you're spinning out of control
Ready, aim, liar.
You never try to keep your pants on anyway.
your roots are getting tired
And I don't want to listen
She's asking nice to stay
No taking
.....
It's a process
.....
I'm better off, better off
Did you get what you want?
It's a miracle, miracle
That we even made it this far.
And you better, know better know
That we are just a memory
Better off alone.
You're tearing at my scars
To open up the same cuts
I watched her fade away
You're throwing every card
And you're cheating at a game
That I don't think I wanna play
....
Believe me
Are you really letting go?
I'm speaking from the only spark
That stays in my heart
I'm better off, better off
Did you get what you want?
It's a miracle, miracle
That we even made it this far
And you better know, better know
That we are just a memory
Better off alone
We're better off alone
Yeah
What goes around
Comes around
What goes around
Comes around
.....
I'm better off, better off
Did you get what you want?
It's a miracle, miracle
That we even made it this far
And you better know, better know
That we are just a memory
Better off alone
We're better off alone
And I'll drown...
There are things that me smile,
And one of them is you.
It's like you came and cast a spell on me.
I can't think of anyone else,
I can't even think of myself.
The one wish I had I used on you...
I'm just thinkin so hard,
I wished for you when I wished on that star.
I wanna die in your arms,
'Cause you're my falling star
There are times I have to smile,
Because I think of you.
It's like you came and stole my heart.
I can't think of anyone else,
I can't even think of myself.
The one wish I had I used on you...
I'm just thinkin so hard,
I wished for you when I wished on that star.
I wanna die in your arms,
'Cause you're my falling star
And I'll drown in your eyes,
And I'll choke from your kiss.
And I'll drown in your eyes,
And I'll choke from your kiss.
And I'll drown in your eyes,
And I'll choke from your kiss.
And I'll drown in your eyes,
I can't believe what just went wrong
I wish that we still got along
We'd been down since way back when
I need you now, like I needed you then
But then you blew, your chance with me
You're too damn blind, you cannot see
It's over now, because of you
I wish it wasn't, but it is true
If I could do it again
I'd keep it the same
I'm sick of your lies
I'm sick of your games
You fucked with my head
You fucked with my heart
I should have seen it
Right from the start
I never believed you'd screw me over
But then you gave me the cold shoulder
I never thought it would end this way
Left alone in my dismay
I treated you right, I did what you asked
You rewarded me, with a kick in the ass
I tried being sweet and all of that shit
But i was ignored and I'm sick of it
If I could do it again
I'd keep it the same
I'm tired of you
And of playing this game
You fucked with my head
You fucked with my heart
I should have seen it
Right from the start
We coulda been cool
We coulda stayed fine
But you were the fool
You crossed the line
Our friendship is done
And your to blame
But you're the one
Who started the game
If I could do it again
I'd keep it the same
You no longer my friend
It's no longer a game
You fucked with my head
You fucked with my heart
Should have seen it
Constant thoughts about you
Keep runnin through my mind
You're like a disease
That makes me weaker inside
And days go by...
Each day I die a little more
You'll be the death of me,
But when I'm not quite sure.....
So doctor, doctor what do I need?
What can you give me?
Cause she's killing me,
My heart is aching, it hurts deep inside.
And doctor what can you give me?
Just give me something that'll make her mine, all mine.
So many dreams about you
Left playin' in my mind
Still feeling hopeless,
No matter if I try.
Sometimes I wonder if it's all worth it,
To give it all up for you.
But I know things will get better,
Cause I'm the perfect one for you.
And sometimes I wonder if it's all worth it,
To give it all up for you.
But I know things will get better,
Cause I'm the perfect one for you.
So doctor, doctor what do I need?
What can you give me?
Cause she's killing me,
My heart is aching, it hurts deep inside.
And doctor what can you give me?
I've been looking for something,
but I'm not quite sure exactly what I'm looking for.I'm just walking blind.
I'm still searching for one thing,
but I don't quite know where I'm going anymore.
Am I wasting all my time?
I'm in desperate need of change.
Anything besides the same old shit,
Cause in my life it's all the same.
And I'm in desperate need of change.
I need something different.
I need to change my ways.
I'm still driving in circles,
and I don't know where to turn.
I always end up where I began.
And I guess, I'll never know.
What it's like
On the other side of the fence.
I'm in desperate need of change.
Anything besides the same old shit,
Cause in my life it's all the same.
And I'm in desperate need of change.
I need something different.
I need to change my ways.
And they say,
"The grass ain't always greener on the other side."
But how will I ever know,
if there's no change in my life?
And they say,
"The grass ain't always greener on the other side."
But how will I ever know,
If there's not change in my life?
I'm in desperate need of change.
Anything besides the same old shit,
Cause in my life it's all the same.
And I'm in desperate need of change.
I need something different.
My life's getting pretty bad.
My dad just stole my porno mag.
He took the one with the really flyass chick.
I didn't know what to do,
So I walked right into his room.
Dad was getting busy,
Mom was sucking on his...
Dictionaries have me pictured under pathetic,
and if you read it, it would say
that my life's a living hell, I need some mental help, I need to get ahold of myself.
It's the story of my life that I can't go out tonight,
because I didn't come home after class.
And it's the story of my life that I can't go out tonight,
So now I'm stuck here at home, stuck all alone, stuck right here on my ass.
My life's nothing but a bore.
The girl I like is a dirty whore.
My life's going nowhere but down the drain.
Each night I sit up waiting for someone to call me.
My mom caught me masturbating to scrambled Spice TV.
Dictionaries have me listed under loser,
I'm pretty sure it used to say
hat my life's a living hell, I need some mental help, I need to get ahold of myself.
It's the story of my life that I can't go out tonight,
Because I didn't come home after class.
And it's the story of my life that I can't out tonight,
If I know just one thing
I know this is right.
If we can't be together forever
Lets be together tonight.
I know that I'm not perfect
That I'm not what you need.
Ignore your insecurities ,
And let me set you free.
Can we be friends
And more than friends?
Are we just starting,
Or is this the end?
Just tell me this is right
Just tell me this is true.
Just tell me this is what you want
Tell me I'm the one for you.
I care about your feelings
And the way you're not quite sure.
You think you haven't found it yet,
But I know that I'm the cure.
So open yourself up to me
But you don't have to do it now.
I promise it will all work out,
If you let me show you how.
Can we be friends
And more than friends?
Are we just starting,
Or is this the end?
Just tell me this is right
Just tell me this is true.
Just tell me this is what you want
You'll never know what it's like.
I've given up the fight.
It only takes one from six to make it all end.
You'll never see when I go.
You're not gonna know what to do,
or what to say.
And I'm ready to take the easy way out.
Out of this place, and out of your life.
It won't be long before you forget me now.
It won't be long before you forget I'm gone.
Anywhere but here seems like its the place to be.
Anywhere but here feels like home,
and I've got to get away.
Anywhere but here feels like its the place for me.
Anywhere but here feels like home,
and I've got to get away.
I'll never be ready to leave this place.
I'll never be ready to say goodbye.
I'll never go, I know that I couldn't.
These dreams, they leave me breathless.
Longing for something new, longing to be together with you.
You leave, you leave me hopeless.
Waiting for the day, waiting for you to just walk away.
There's something missing in my heart.
Let's take this from a brand new day, let's take this from a brand new start.
So close to something,
and no, not for nothing.
Will I let this drop?
They're ringing in my head,
the last words you said.
There's nothing left to say,
goodbye my love.
My world is crashing down,
you're not around.
Wipe the tears from your eyes,
goodbye my love.
What you mean to me,
there's no words that can express my emptiness.
What you did to me,
there's no words that can express my pain.
Another night alone, your picture in my head.
Another day I'll wake up to an empty bed.
I'm dying inside, my lovely.
There's no one but you.
You left me so alone, but I'm trying so hard.
Without you in my life, I can't do anything at all.
They're ringing in my head,
the last words you said.
There's nothing left to say,
goodbye my love.
My world is crashing down,
you're not around.
Wipe the tears from your eyes,
We watch the news in awe and shock,
The people who made the nation rock.
They can hurt our bodies and take some lives,
But they'll never hurt our US pride.
So here we stand, a nation as one,
Knowing the fight has just begun.
Here we stand, undivided
We stand united, stronger than before.
We know that we will survive,
It's the innocent lives that we're fighting for.
We all shed tears on that day,
Left speechless, with nothing left to say.
But we held our place, and we moved on,
We dried our eyes like nothing was wrong.
They tried to bring us down, but we didn't fall,
We held our ground, through it all.
Here we stand, undivided
We stand united, stronger than before.
We know that we will survive,
It's the innocent lives that we're fighting for.
Here we stand, undivided
We stand united, stronger than before.
We know that we will survive,
It's the innocent lives that we're fighting for.
You tell me, I'm not right for you
As the tears, fall from your eyes
If this, isn't what you want
Then why, does it make you cry
I'm exactly what your lookin' for
But you're too stubborn to see
That in your heart, not in your eyes
I'm everything that you need
I'm sorry this happened,
I'm sorry I cared.
I'm sorry you gave up,
It's really not fair.
I'm sorry I'm not what you want me to be,
I'm sorry you fell in love with me.
I wish, that this wasnt so hard
That we could, do just what we feel
I'm not sure what that feeling is
But I know that this is for real
I know that we have our problems
But we can work them out
Your smile and your happiness
Are what I'm all about
I'm sorry this happened,
I'm sorry I cared.
I'm sorry you gave up,
It's really not fair.
I'm sorry I'm not what you want me to be,
I'm sorry you fell in love with me.
I'm sorry this happened,
I'm sorry I cared.
I'm sorry you gave up,
It's really not fair.
I'm sorry I'm not what you want me to be,
My mind was so far away,
and I could never say
what I wanted to say to you.
I was living in a lie,
I wasn't living my own life.
The words I spoke, untrue.
And I apologize,
For the things I said to you,
I never meant to make you hurt.
And I apologize,
Cause they were so untrue,
I never meant to make this worse.
Here's the pieces to your heart.
I never meant to make you fall apart.
I know that hearts were broken.
My present different than my past.
Each story different than the last.
My story better off unopened.
And I apologize,
For the things I said to you,
I never meant to make you hurt.
And I apologize,
Cause they were so untrue,
I never meant to make this worse.
My mind was so far away,
and I could never say
what I wanted to say to you.
I was living in a lie,
I wasn't living my own life.
It's been a long time now,
Since I last talked to you.
I walk the streets at night,
Alone and missing you.
I miss our late night talks,
And the way I'd hold you close,
But nothing seems to matter.
Cause it's you I miss the most.
If every song that I sang,
Could make you smile,
I'd sing you right to sleep.
If every song that I sang,
Could make you mine,
I'd sing you back in love with me.
Still walking and wishing,
You back into my life.
Just dreaming and hoping,
You'd come back to me one night.
And that things would perfect,
And nothing could wrong,
And sometime you'd realize,
You and I were perfect all along.
If every song that I sang,
Could make you smile,
I'd sing you right to sleep.
If every song that I sang,
Could make you mine,
I'd sing you back in love with me.
Someday soon you'll see,
How you're missin' out.
Things could never be,
Worse than they are now.
It shouldn't be like this.
You shouldn't be gone.
It shouldn't be like this.
I shoulda been there all along.
If every song that I sang,
Could make you smile,
I'd sing you right to sleep.
If every song that I sang,
Could make you mine,
I'd sing you back in love with me.
If every song that I sang,
Could make you smile,
I'd sing you right to sleep.
If every song that I sang,
Could make you mine,
Verse:
There's an ugly town,
By a river, where the water's brown.
Well everybody's down,
And full of broken dreams.
Verse:
Never satisfied,
Took the plunge and then I took a ride.
To the other side,
I heard the grass was green.
Chorus1:
And now I'm better off this time,
You know I'm better off this time.
Cause everything is starting over,
And thw winds of change have blown across my life.
Verse:
Living life in charge,
Never thought that I could crash so hard.
Like a falling star,
I knew the end was near.
Verse:
Then I met a man,
From a very strange and distant land.
He took me by the hand,
And told me to draw near
Chorus2:
And now I'm better off this time,
You know I'm better off this time.
Cause everything is starting over,
Because He is now the Master of my life.
Bridge:
I tried to run, and I tried to hide,
From the truth that I knew inside,
Everything I lived for seem to fade, away.
God Your love never hid from me,
But sometimes it was hard to see,
It don't matter what you did
It don't matter what you said
You're careful like the night
Proud like the day
There ain't a thing I want from you
There ain't a thing I'd take
Cautious you walk
But that bough's about to break
You can't get nowhere when you're broken down
You can't get nothin' with a shut mouth
You can't get nowhere with your stubborn pride
But girl, you sure do try
I wonder if you're lonely
You'd never let me know
I wonder do you think of me
When you're alone
are you better off?
it's allright to build walls sometimes
break a doorway down
now and then
it would sure be nice
tread soft, keep in mind
every dark day needs a little bit of light
Whoever wins your heart, girl
Opens you wide
Whoever you're gonna let break inside
Will be the luckiest girl alive
It抯 been a long time without you
But now I realize it抯 true
I抦 better off being without you
With out you
Now I know
You抣l carry on
Without the pain
You抳e got a lie
I抳e got myself to blame
I抦 better off being without you
I抦 better off being without you
Now I抦 alone now I can see
I抣l carry on knowing the pain
Knowing what could have been
I might not be the same
Still I know
I抦 better off being without you
I抦 better off being without you
Now I抦 alone now I can see
I can´t believe
It over now,
I see the fire
In your heart is out
Should I just dream forever?
We could have stayed together
And every thing would be alright
Oh Oh Oh
But by the time
That I came around
I was told
That you were always
Bring me down
I can still see
The look writting
On your face
It´s something that
You just can´t seem
To erase
Can´t you see
Is better off
This way?
I can´t believe
I was so blind
Cause it´s happiness
That´s hard to find
A never ending story
Now one minute
For the glory
This time the
Hero gets the girl
But by the time
That I came around
I was told
Bring me down
I can still see
The look writting
On your face
It´s something that
You just can´t seem
To erase
Can´t you see
Is better off
This way?
I can still see
The look writting
On your face
It´s something that
You just can´t seem
To erase
Can´t you see
Is better off
This way?
(I´m leaving you)
(I´m leaving you)
(I´m leaving you)
(I´m leaving you)
I can still see
The look writting
On your face
It´s something that
You just can´t seem
To erase
Can´t you see
Is better off
This way?
I can still see
The look writting
On your face
It´s something that
You just can´t seem
To erase
Can´t you see
Is better off
When you're gone I know I'm better offWhen you're gone I
know I'm better off alone
'Cause I go crazy just at the thought of you
Maybe it's just because I'm too damn lazy
To properly get over you
Look at me I'm such an awful mess
Oh don't you worry, yeah I like it this way best
I write more songs when I'm depressed
When you're gone I know I'm better off
When you're gone I know I'm better off alone
Better of without you
Better off my baby
Better off without
Better off my baby
And I'm better off without you
Better off my baby
Better off my baby
Better off without you
I waited for you mainly
Can't believe you made me
Oh lord of daydreams
Leading on the maybes
And why you would treasure me
Search for you and rule me
Close sits on nothing
Why we should be killing
Sorrow Sorrow (searching searching ‘em)
Crossed Hearts (you crossed your heart and now you lose)
I'm better without you
Yeah
I'm better without you
Yeah

Is only half full in your thoughts
You get no better now
Patiently, cause you're so heavy in my heart
I could do better now
I'm with you
I'm with you (If you really want me to be with you than I can chose)
And you want me
I can choose my own (I could do better)
I know I can do better
Love is life and life is love, I like to love
Every part of you. The party life can never do enough
So many obstacles the possibilities are breaking up
Can move in hospital with that extra patient you got me stuck
I'll play the prostitute if you've got the patience to pimp me
But you never put me on the strip, put it on then you strip
Put it on your fingertips and I'll kiss it off
You better not kiss me goodbye, 'tis my faith in kiss to cross
I'm trying to go there, take you slow there if it's alright
Tell me that you care baby we could share a full life
Truth and double dare that I do repair broken hearts
Cupid shot me in the dark, stupid I didn't play my part
Ask for your forgiveness, if it's worth it I can serve a purpose
If I'm st... st... stuttering because I'm nervous
Tell me that you love me still
Promise that I'm staying still
Honesty is all I need
Honestly, we can build
The stakes are full now
Still wait for you
I'm better off with you (I'm better off)
Yeah
I'm better off with you
Yeah
I'm with you (If you really want me to)
I can't chose life (I can't chose)
Now I think it's better off this way
Now I think it's better off better off
I had what I want
In my hands slip away again
I hate regretting the
Things I've done
Cannot help but dwell on the thought
That I let it slip away
Now I think it's better off this way
Now I think it's better off better off
Clarity is what I'm facing
Now I think it's better off better off this way
Unerstandig seems so clear
When it's happening I feel so blind,
We'll chase away the fear that made yesterday real
Cannot help but dwell on the thought that I,
Let it slip away
Now I think it's better off this way
Now I think it's better off better off
Clarity is what I'm facing
Now I think it's better off better off this way
Cannot help but dwell on the thought
That I, let it slip away
Sitting here I'm all alone same old thing
Sorting clothes I hear the phone just let it ring
When you came by to get your stuff
I was sure I'd had enough
But you're no longer in my bed
I can't get you out of my head
Oh baby, oh baby I'm better off
I stay up late and watch TV just can't sleep
Read all the cards you've given me the things I keep
And everyday I pray your name
But it could never be the same
You're no longer in my bed
And I can't get you out of my head
Oh baby, oh baby I'm better off
I'm better off oh lord I'm better off
And I still hear those words that you said
Oh I guess I was just misguided
I'm better off dead
I'd take you out all the time and always pay
Cheap hotels expensive wine the words you'd say
You told me all I wanted to hear
Oh I believed it all but now it's clear
Oh you would hurt but never bleed
Oh taking everything you need
Oh baby oh baby
I'm better off
I'm better off
I'm better off
