Crystal Care Home Health goes into Ch. 7 bankruptcy

Crystal Care Home Healthcare Services, once one of the fastest-growing companies in Minnesota, will cease operations in March after filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection.

KSTP has a report on the Wednesday court approval for the Richfield company, which provides patients with home health care.

The company, which had earlier sought protection under Chapter 11 reorganization, asked for the change, citing debts of more than $5 million.

The report doesn't have a whole lot of details — it's mostly focused on the employees who won't get paid — but there are presumably plenty of vendors with even larger claims against the company. We'll link to those when we get them.

Crystal Care was the DBA name of Premier HealthCare Services Inc., co-founded by Sally Knutson in 2001. In 2009, it made the Business Journal's list of the fastest-growing private Minnesota companies with nearly $15 million in revenue.
