Alissa Johannsen Rubin is an American journalist who began covering the Middle East for The New York Times in 2007. Previously, she had been a correspondent for The Los Angeles Times.

In August 2007, Rubin was named deputy bureau chief in the Baghdad bureau of The New York Times. Currently, she is the paper's Bureau Chief in Kabul.

Rubin won an Alicia Patterson Journalism Fellowship in 1992 writing about the reality versus politics of abortion in the 1990s.

Rubin is married and resides in Paris, France.

Ed Cunningham (born August 17, 1969 in Washington, D.C.) is a former professional American football player who played center for five seasons for the Arizona Cardinals and the Seattle Seahawks. Prior to his professional career, Cunningham played center for the University of Washington Huskies, helping them win a National Championship in 1991. After his football career, he became a football analyst for TNN (now known as Spike) calling games for the Arena Football League with Eli Gold as his broadcast partner. Cunningham later moved on to calling NCAA Football games for CBS and then ABC. In 2007, he worked with play-by-play announcer Ron Franklin and sideline reporter Jack Arute on ABC regional telecasts.

In 2008, Cunningham added to his duties on ESPN, as an in-studio football analyst on College Football Live. He continued to work with Franklin and Arute on ABC regional telecasts as well.

More recently, he was a producer on the documentaries The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters and Undefeated (2011) for which he won an Academy Award.

Hamza Yusuf Hanson is an American Islamic scholar, and (with Zaid Shakir and Hatem Bazian) is co-founder of Zaytuna College in Berkeley, California, United States. He is a convert to Islam, and is one of the signatories of A Common Word Between Us and You, an open letter by Islamic scholars to Christian leaders, calling for peace and understanding. He has described the 9/11 attacks as "an act of 'mass murder, pure and simple'". Condemning the attacks, he has also stated "Islam was hijacked ... on that plane as an innocent victim".The Guardian newspaper in the United Kingdom reported that he "is arguably the west's most influential Islamic scholar" and added that "many Muslims find his views hard to stomach."

Hamza Yusuf was born to two academics in Washington State and raised in Northern California. In 1977, he became Muslim and subsequently traveled to the Muslim world and studied for ten years in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, as well as North and West Africa. Hamza Yusuf spent four years studying in the United Arab Emirates and elsewhere in the Middle East. Later he traveled to West Africa and studied in Mauritania, Medina, Algeria, and Morocco under such scholars as Murabit al Haaj; Baya bin Salik, head of the Islamic court in Al-'Ain, United Arab Emirates; Muhammad Shaybani, Mufti of Abu Dhabi; Hamad al-Wali; and Muhammad al-Fatrati of Al Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt.^{[citation needed]} After more than a decade abroad, he returned to the United States and earned degrees in nursing from Imperial Valley College and religious studies at San José State University.^{[citation needed]}

Kimberly Dozier (born July 6, 1966) is a correspondent for the Associated Press, covering intelligence and counterterrorism. She was stationed in Baghdad as the chief reporter in Iraq for CBS News for nearly three years prior to being critically wounded on May 29, 2006.

Dozier was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, one of six siblings, and raised by Benjamin, a construction worker and retired Marine who served in World War II, and Dorothy Dozier (died 2008).

She attended St. Timothy's School (an all-girls boarding school) in Stevenson, Maryland. She holds a bachelor's degree from Wellesley College (1987) and a master's degree in foreign affairs from the University of Virginia (1993). From 1988 through 1991, Dozier served as a Washington, D.C.-based reporter for The Energy Daily, New Technology Week, and Environment Week, covering Congressional policy and industry regulation. From 1992 through 1995, while living in Cairo, Dozier did freelance work for the CBS Radio Network, Christian Science Monitor Radio, and Voice of America, as well as writing for The Washington Post and the San Francisco Chronicle.^{[citation needed]}

Richard N. Kaplan is an American network television producer. He has worked for CBS, ABC, CNN and MSNBC. He has served as executive producer for some of the biggest names in television news journalism, including Walter Cronkite, Peter Jennings, Ted Koppel, Diane Sawyer, Katie Couric, and Christiane Amanpour.

Kaplan started his broadcast journalism career at CBS's WBBM-TV in Chicago. He worked for CBS until 1979, when he moved to ABC. Kaplan stayed at ABC until 1997, when he served as President of CNN/U.S. until 2000. He became Senior Vice-President of ABC News in 2003 and was named President of MSNBC in February 2004. In June 2006 Kaplan resigned as president of MSNBC. In 2007, he replaced Rome Hartman as the executive producer of the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. In 2011, he was named Executive Producer of This Week with Christiane Amanpour. He has received 44 Emmy Awards.
