Boris Johnson DEFENDS Tony Blair's decision to invade Afghanistan against MP Zarah Sultana
Boris Johnson sets out the justification for British action in Afghanistan against Corbynite MP Zarah Sultana:
"As I said earlier, the circumstances in Afghanistan in 2001 demanded action. It was clear that the US had been under attack and article 5 of the NATO treaty was invoked. I believe it was right to take action against that brutal and ruthless terrorist cell that was incubated in Afghanistan. The hon. Lady advocates democracy, but the Taliban had no democracy then and nor did they educate girls in school. If she refuses to see what the soldiers, the men and women of this country, the diplomats and the development officers have done in helping young girls and women in Afghan—if she refuses to see their achievement—I really think she is blind to the facts."

2. SOUNDBITE (English) Boris Johnson, UK Foreign Secretary:
"Of course there will be elections down the line, of course there will be, but be in no doubt that the people of this country were told all sorts of absolute claptrap about the economic consequences of leaving the EU. They were told there would have to be a punishment budget, they were told the economy would go off a cliff, the very opposite has happened. What I'm struck by is the incredible confidence that international investors, international leaders had in our country and in the future of our country and in our ability to make a great success of a relationship that doesn't mean leaving Europe, but simply extricating ourselves from the treaties of the European Union, in such a way as to give ourselves the opportunity to do free trade deals that we could never do before. This country, our country, the UK, has a phenomenal future and people are waking up to that. And as for Tony Blair, whatever his merits as a former prime minister, this is the guy who would have taken our country into the euro, with what would have been catastrophic consequences, this is the guy who dragooned the United Kingdom into the Iraq war, on a completely false prospectus, with consequences which foreign ministers here (at the G20 meeting) are still trying to deal with. So I respectfully say to Tony Blair, those who call the British people to 'rise up' against Brexit, I urge the British people to 'rise up and turn off the TV' next time Blair comes on with his condescending campaign."
3. Johnson leaving ++CONTINUES FROM PREVIOUS SHOT++
STORYLINE:
UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson on Friday criticised former prime minister Tony Blair's anti-Brexit stance, saying it was "insulting to the intelligence of the electorate" to suggest that Britons had made the wrong choice to leave the EU in last year's referendum.
Blair launched a new campaign Friday to persuade Britons to "rise up" and change their minds about leaving the European Union.
Speaking in Bonn, Johnson responded that people should "rise up and turn off the TV" if Blair was on air with his "condescending campaign".
Blair urged voters to speak out against the government's drive to exit the EU at any cost, saying it could damage future generations.
He argued that Britons voted without knowledge of the true terms of Brexit.

In the past, we have tried to explain the spread and existence of disease through models that lacked human insight. Johnson explores exciting new models for HIV/AIDS that take into account real, sociological factors.
Blair T. Johnson, Ph.D., is Board of Trustees Professor of Psychology
at the University of Connecticut. For over two decades, he has focused his scholarship on health promotion and especially HIV prevention, serving as the principal investigator of several National Institutes of Health grants on these subjects. His recent research has helped to show the prominent roles that networks and community resources play in the success of behavioral interventions targeting individuals at risk for acquiring HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. Prof. Johnson is also a dedicated methodologist, especially in relation to meta-analysis, which he labels “the original big data.” He developed some of the first computer software to conduct meta-analysis and often writes and teaches about the best ways to conduct meta-analyses and other systematic reviews. When he is not doing science, he enjoys playing piano and activities with his family.
