About The Cartoon Max said that, the essence of human’s relationship is the sum total of all social relations. Therefore my cartoon is an expression and self-examination of the social relations around us. The film shows the distinctive elements in social relations through the three different groups of the blind, the deaf and the dumb. I compare the blind to the upper class in the “network” .The reason is that because of they have seen a great deal of life, they are easy to get sluggish and get to the stage which full of blind zones of life.In that case they will ignore the change of the facts until they made huge mistakes while they could not cognize. While I make a comparison between the deaf and the masses in the “network”. They are slick and sly, and kind of numb in the same time. They are carried along by the tide because of the so-called habit.They act cleverly as they think themselves so, carry out whatever order without any doubt.While in fact ,the action is just the representation of foolish. They have already get used to the principles and only take care of themselves.They, however, is a paradox essentially.But they are full of vigor in the paradox of social relations. At last I compare the dumb to the exception of the “network”.They are unpopular in the society because their cognition is too simple. However, the persisting of the principle and the dependence of the truth is pure and full of enthusiasm. In fact, the point that I want to say is the “dumb” stage is the stage that everybody had experienced. Only by experiencing this can people get to the next stage of his life. About The Creator Autocracy,created by Liu Baoxin, is a independent short film. I was charged with the work of the director, screenwriter, art, storyboard, original painting , animated drawing ,etc. I have mastered the techniques of the basic principles of designing cartoons, audio-visual language, and the structure of the stories through the experience of the last four years. Moreover, I have seen to much one-sidedness of the news reports and the seamy side of our society. Thanks to the experience, finally I have created the cynical cartoon which I once expected to make in the last year of my college life. To sum up the objectives of creating the cartoon, I could give you the following two points. Firstly, I want to summarize my understanding of the society.Secondly, the cartoon could be seen as the check-up of the knowledge that I learned in the last four years. I must admit that there are still too many deficiencies in it. Ironically, as the cartoon’s title is “Autocracy”, I was kind of authoritarian when I was making the cartoon. For I didn’t listen to the opinions of my friends and schoolfellows.Hardly did I take my teacher’s suggestions into consideration. Just kept working with quiet hard application, so that I didn’t watch the cartoon in the spectator’s point of view and miss the chance to fully express the setting of the story and the metaphor in it. After the creation of the whole work, I have learned a lot, like how to make a programming of the cartoon to get the best result. Also the experience makes me feel my emptiness when facing the arguments of human’s life. At the same time, I have learned the importance of communication and team-work. I hope that I could keep improving myself and create better cartoon in the future.
