Lucas Edward Neill (born 9 March 1978) is an Australian professional footballer who currently plays for UAE Pro-League club Al Jazira and is the captain of the Australian national team. Neill plays as a defender, who commonly plays as a centre back as well as a full back. Neill had spent almost 15 years of his career playing in England. He represented Australia at the 2006 FIFA World Cup, the 2007 AFC Asian Cup, the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, and also the 2011 AFC Asian Cup in Qatar. On 6 October 2006 he was named the 50th captain of the Australian national team.

Neill grew up in the Northern Beaches of Sydney and was a student at Wakehurst Public School in Belrose and St Augustine's College in Brookvale, before attending the Australian Institute of Sport on a football scholarship in 1994–95.

Neill joined Millwall on a free transfer in November 1995, making his debut on 17 February against Luton Town in 1996. In almost six years at The Den, he made 174 appearances in all competitions, scoring 13 goals. In September 2001, Neill, by then the longest serving player at the club, submitted a transfer request and shortly after, signed for Blackburn Rovers for an initial fee of £600,000 plus up to £400,000 more depending on appearances.

Mark Bosnich (born 13 January 1972) is an Australian former football (soccer) goalkeeper and sports pundit. As a player, he played in the English Premier League for Aston Villa, Manchester United and Chelsea as well as representing Australia 17 times during his career. He also played in his native country playing for Sydney United, Central Coast Mariners and Sydney Olympic.

Bosnich was born and grew up in Liverpool, New South Wales and Fairfield, Sydney and attended Liverpool Boys High School.^{[citation needed]} Bosnich played for Sydney Croatia youth team before moving to England. In 1988, at the age of 16, he moved to England to join Manchester United and made his debut for them in a First Division fixture against Wimbledon on 30 April 1990.

He only played two more games for the club before returning to Sydney Croatia briefly in 1991–92 season. He returned to England signing for Aston Villa on a free transfer on 28 February 1992. During Bosnich's time at Old Trafford, Manchester United won the FA Cup and European Cup Winners' Cup, but he did not make the squad for either win.

Fabio Grosso, Ufficiale OMRI (Italian pronunciation: [ˈfabjo ˈɡrɔsso]; born 28 November 1977 in Rome, Italy) is an Italian World Cup-winning footballer who currently plays for Serie A club Juventus. Grosso is primarily a left wingback, but can also play as left back. He is also a free kick, penalty kick and corner kick specialist. He scored the decisive late first goal against Germany in the 2006 World Cup semi-final and also scored the winning penalty in the penalty shootout against France in the final that won the trophy for the Azzurri.

Grosso was born in Rome, but hails from Chieti in Abruzzo, where his family soon returned. Grosso joined Renato Curi Angolana in 1994, and played in the club's youth system until 1995. He was promoted to the senior squad for the 1995–1996 season, and soon became a key part of the first team. Following the 1997–1998 season, he left the Eccellenza club, to join Calcio Chieti for an undisclosed transfer fee. Grosso made 108 official appearances for Renato Curi, scoring a very impressive 47 goals as an attacking midfielder and left winger.

Karl Stefanovic (born 12 August 1974) is an Australian Gold Logie winning television presenter.

Stefanovic is currently a co-host of the Nine Network's breakfast program, Today.

Karl Stefanovic graduated from the Queensland University of Technology with a degree in journalism in 1994, and began working for WIN Television in Rockhampton and Cairns as a cadet reporter. In 1996, Stefanovic took up a position with TVNZ as a reporter for One Network News.

In 1998, Stefanovic returned to Australia with a job reporting and presenting for Ten News in Brisbane, and also acted as a fill-in news presenter for Ron Wilson in Sydney.

In 2000, Stefanovic moved to the Nine Network as a reporter and back-up presenter for National Nine News in Brisbane. He received a Queensland Media Award for Best News Coverage for his report on the Childers backpacker hostel fire in 2000.^{[citation needed]}

Stefanovic's reports on the 2001 Warragamba bushfires from Sussex Inlet in January 2002 led to his appointment to Nine's Sydney newsroom,^{[citation needed]} and was involved in the coverage of the 2003 Canberra bushfires.

Holger Osieck is a German football coach and current coach of the Australian national association football team. Prior to the Australian role, he most recently managed J.League club Urawa Red Diamonds, where he won the 2007 AFC Champions League. He served as an assistant coach of West Germany national football team when they won the 1990 FIFA World Cup. He also led Canada to the title of 2000 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

In his native country, he played for Schalke 04, Eintracht Gelsenkirchen, SSV Hagen, 1. FC Mülheim and 1. FC Bocholt. However, he never appeared in a top-flight Bundesliga match. Toward the end of his playing career, he moved to Canada to play for Vancouver Whitecaps.

After finishing his playing career in Canada, Osieck became an assistant coach to Franz Beckenbauer for the Germany national football team that won the 1990 FIFA World Cup. He then managed VfL Bochum (Germany), Fenerbahçe S.K. (Turkey), Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan) and Kocaelispor (Turkey) before he landed the job of manager of the Canadian national team in 1999.
