The Old House and Barn at Delvid Farm
The Old House and Barn at Delvid Farm
The Old House and Barn at Delvid Farm nestles between the Gower Bays of Llangennith and Broughton, enjoying a secluded position and set within 10 acres of beautiful Gower countryside. Enjoying spectacular views of the extensive gardens and woodland with a full array of mature trees, impressive ferns, rare blooms and fruit trees with majestic views of the rugged sand dunes and ocean stretching out in front of you. Within the grounds there are interesting paths to explore with plenty of seating areas dotted around the gardens; all perfectly placed to follow the sun and offering a new and interesting view from every position. The peace, tranquillity and privacy are amplified by clean and coastal fresh air that blends with the aroma of the trees and plants, one breath and you already begin to feel refreshed and revived from the stresses of city living. The natural stream trickles gently from the duck pond adding to the organic nature of the gardens. Watching the ducks waddle about on the pond could keep one amused for ages. The babbling stream together with the bird song and sounds of nature certainly add to the Idyllic lifestyle one could have here. The farm house and converted stables date back to the mid-16th Century and offer a truly unique opportunity to purchase a rare slice of Gower heritage. The Grade II Listed traditional long house is presented with a wealth of original features and is decorated to compliment the origins of the home. With Inglenook fireplace with a bread baking oven, arrow slit windows, beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls and flagstone flooring features. The most unique of the original features would be the cupboard bed in the living room, which is tucked within the window recess. Traditionally it would have been used by the farmers servant girl whose job it was to keep the fire alight all night. Now it makes an equally warm and comfortable window seat. Also benefiting from the heat from the fire is the original charnel-box bed in the bedr- published: 07 Jan 2014

Begin Video Transcript.
Click on a vertice on the crotch and click "View", then "View Selected" to zoom in.
We have to choose where the slit will be.
When decided, click "Knife" on the left tool bar. Just below the 3D view area, there are options for this tool that appear. The option we are most concerned with is Ctrl: midpoint snap. This automatically cuts an edge in the middle.
Choose where the cut will begin. Bring the green square down to the first edge and press "ctrl". You will notice that the green square goes to the middle of that line. Press the left mouse button and the first part of the cut is made.
Go down, and upward like I have. Press the space bar, then the first cut is made.
Make another similar cut in the middle of the cut you just made. Then another similar cut between the outer and inner cut. Then another in the centre. I will show you.
You can zoom in with the mouse scroll wheel if you need a closer view.
Move to a view inside the model. Press "A" if you want to deselect the orange lines.
Select the inner vertices along the middle line of the cuts you just made.
Shift+clicking will allow you to select or deselect multiple vertices.
Click the blue arrow and pull it upward.
Drag the green arrow to make it more symetrical.
Make a cut along both sides of this new raised ridge. Remember to hold Ctrl along each line to cut it in half.
Next, select the initial middle vertices.
Press Ctrl with the (+) key. This is used to select the next group of vertices around your selection.
Shift click the two end vertices to deselect them. Then press CTRL and + again.
Deselect both end vertices again.
Now we have to shape the slit to be rounded. Drag the blue arrow up. Drag the green arrow a bit to make the lines more straight.
Continue on in this fashion till the outer edge is reached.
When the final edge is adjusted then you may go back and smooth some more.
When finished, you may keep as is or you can click on the "Smooth Vertex" tool on the left toolbar to see if it makes the shape better.
You can also raise the inner ridge again to make it look deeper.
You can go to object mode to get a more shaded view.
End Video Transcript.

Make The Cut! Q&A; Webinar - January 24, 2012
This is from the January 24, 2012 Q&A; Webinar for Make The Cut!
00:00:00 Welcoming Remarks
00:00:55 Shadowing – is there a way to give a specific size to a shadow other than using the slider bar as that doesn’t always get size desired (Short answer no but Bryan explains why and gives a possible workaround to get better shadowing)
00:12:30 Using the Tiler Feature to create Wall Art (Advanced ? Tiler (general information) also discussion on specifically using it with a Cricut and its cutting limitations on size (i.e. can’t use full 12x12 mat)
00:31:23 Does MTC work with any of the following cutters: PCUT CT0630, CS630/CSI1200, SC 631 with optical eye (short answer not supported cutters thus no specific plug-ins for these machines but may work with one of the plug-ins for another cutter – user would need to try and see.)
00:45:40 Chipboard – general discussion of chipboard density, what is chipboard and cutting it on different machines
00:49:40 MTC for the MAC (Note: it is presently being beta tested with the Zing machine and is still working on using with the KNK Maxx – needs some tweeking. Send Andy an email at MTC support if you have a Zing and want to Beta test.
00:51:10 Should Zing users update to the latest MTC version 4.1.0 and the latest Zing plugin (Yes, added new features and fixed some minor bugs)
00:52:45 Importing a picture of a face from a photo; 2 ways to do, multiple layers for dimension - see paperkutz and his tutorials and information on doing this (http://paperkutzstudio.wordpress.com/) Bryan demonstrates here how to do a single layer/color portrait
01:22:45 How to use “symbols” from a font, from dingbats, or wingbats if you don’t know the proper key assigned to type it in the text box
01:32:10 Problem with MTC crashing when attempting to set blade origin and trying to move with the arrows – (user has a Zing and had a recent upgrade to windows OS). (Note: some people have a problem when trying to move up with the up arrow and trying to move up more than 1”). User to try to reproduce and send info. To Bryan via email
01:36:25 Zing Detail Blade (new fine red detail blade) leaving small tiny slits in some cuts. User wants to know how to fix or minimize problem (quick answer – check offset settings and adjust, test cut with a star object (anything with inside and outside corners.) Contact Bryan if cannot get fixed.
01:40:20 Fonts – Why Does Bryan have some Fonts on his MTC pull-down list but I don’t have them? (Note: Fonts are reliant upon what you have installed on your computer. Everyone’s list will be different. Also note, too many fonts added to your system can bog down your computer. MTC can use Fonts without having them installed to your Windows Font Folder.)
01:45:50 Trying to separate image into different layers and/or pages
01:55:50 Trouble connecting to cut with a Cricut previously connecting and working
02:01:05 Opening an SVG in MTC and adding color (NOTE: You must “IMPORT” an SVG File)

ITSM Weekly, the podcast bringing you news, insight analysis, and information from the world of IT service management. Your hosts, Matthew Hooper, Chris Dancy, and Matt Beran. IT Service Management Weekly the Podcast starts now. Welcome to ITSM Weekly, the podcast, episode 93. How are you doing, Hoop?
Good. '93. '93. I feel so old. You think? Yeah. Maybe it's because I turned 40 recently. Did you? When was that, did miss your birthday? You did, yeah. Sorry about that. That's all right. Are you 40 even? 40 even; I'm even 40. So, lots to catch up on. Last week we had our guest and we really didn't have a chance to catch up on all the news that we had for all the fine things.
We were supposed to have a young lady by the name of Adrianne who is from Yale University on this week, but things just didn't work out, she's going to come on next week so we have to put her off I thought this would be a good time for you and I to catch up on some news, all sorts of news and gossip.
Awesome. As well as, you know how we keep sneaking Mark Zuckerberg, he comes on whenever whenever we're not actually recording he shows up, he's like "hey put me on the air" you know we're going to [xx] time have the sponsors of tomorrow coming up on a show. So I won't say who but I'm sure you smart, marketing savvy people can figure out sponsors of tomorrow.
What do you think about that Hoop? I think it's awesome. I love big name guests. Yes, and they love us apparently. They do. Of course. We're leaving innovation here in the ITSM space. Yes. And it's not because we're awesome, it's just because the bar's so stinking low. Yeah. If service management were limbo, you would have to be a parapalegic.
Im one of those creepers. Weve got a lot to catch up You don't even know what a creeper is do you? No. I just assume it's some type of hooperism. No. A creeper is something that they have in mechanic shops. you know in garages. Oh. So that you can lay down and you can slide under the car. You know in Grease right before the scene for grease lightning they all come out on the sleepers - creepers - creepers or sleepers?
- creepers - Is there ever a reason you would be on your stomach on a creeper? Yeah you'd have to always face up. - Yeah cause you are working on the The underbody of the car. If you put a hole where your face would be on a creeper and you lay it on your stomach, it could also act as a massager and you could flip the car upside-down below ground.
Oh, brother. Remember those old rafts where they use to have the whole all cut off your face so your kids get actually book in the wire no it happens the stuff no so that i cannot swim so that yeah.... isn't it? So I think the episode with Mr Willis there seemed explosively exciting people talking about Dev Ops.
Yes, yeah, a great g

L'Escalator
L’escalator
The moving staircase
Of glossy aluminum and heavy steel of cast iron, the iridescent arrow of this monster which raises us in the oiled rustling of its pennants of metal. Its teeth of killer whale hide its greasy machinery. Its calm swiftness dopes our stoutness. Automaton which allows us to step over the space.
Transported effortlessly, the messenger teleports his lascivious pounds from ground to sky, from the floors to the hells. At the top, down below. Quietly. Walking in the chain, industry of the small steps, treadmill without end or beginning.
Moving staircase, kinetic immobility which relieves our strides of the weight of the deaf and sovereign gravity to make us lighter in the space of a transfer, a journey between two geometrical plans. Diagonal with social utility. Points of conjunction of the human flows in the ant-hill.
Machine to slit the time.
