Populations
A population is a summation of all the organisms of the same group or species, who live in the same geographical area, and have the capability of interbreeding.[1][2] In ecology the population of a certain species in a certain area is estimated using the Lincoln Index. The area that is used to define a sexual population is defined as the area where inter-breeding is potentially possible between any pair within the area. The probability of interbreeding is greater than the probability of cross-breeding with individuals from other areas. Under normal conditions, breeding is substantially more common within the area than across the border.[3] In sociology, population refers to a collection of human beings. Demography is a social science which entails the statistical study of human populations. This article refers mainly to human population.- published: 23 Nov 2013

Grouper Moon: Saving One of the Last Great Populations of an Endangered Caribbean Reef Fish
(Visit: http://www.uctv.tv/) Historically, Nassau grouper were considered one of the most important shallow water fisheries in the Caribbean, yet today they are rarely caught. Why has the species declined so precipitously, and what can be done to reverse the trend? Join Brice Semmens as he presents findings from the Grouper Moon project, a long-term research program in the Cayman Islands focused on the conservation of one of the last great populations of this endangered Caribbean icon. Statistics 101: Two Populations, Estimate of Mean Difference with Known Sigmas
Statistics 101: Two Populations, Inference about Mean Difference. In this video we begin the exploration of multiple populations by finding a confidence interval for the mean difference between two populations. For this first case we know or are given the two populations standard deviations. We learn how to find the standard error, margin or error, and confidence interval for the difference between to populations. Illustrations and examples are provided. Enjoy!
