We are now very pleased to introduce you to the Mailiao Industrial Complex, the Formosa Plastics Corporation. Mailiao Industrial Complex. The base is about eight km from north to south and about four km from east to west, with a development area of 2,603 hectares and a total investment amount of NT$ 574.4 billion for Phases I to IV, the Sixth Naphtha Cracker Project. In the Mailiao Industrial Complex, there were a number of pieces of giant equipment whose size were sufficient to be the envy of the world. For example, the process equipment was more than 90 meters height, and with a total weight of approximately 1,500 tons. The oil reservoir, with 38 storage tanks of 130 thousand kiloliters each, a diameter of 86 meters and a height of 22 meters, came out on top in the world's largest-capacity storage tank ranking. ◆The Investment Projects of the Mailiao Industrial Complex －Vertical Integration, Competitiveness Reengineering－ The constructions of the Mailiao Industrial Complex are included as follows: OIL: There is an oil refinery with an annual refining capacity of 25 million tons and a daily refining capacity of 540 thousand barrels. With the annual production of 4 million tons, the light oil is in full supply to related factories within the park. We also produce other oil products such as gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, liquefied petroleum gas etc. which are then marketed both nationally and internationally. PETROCHEMICAL RAW MATERIALS AND CHEMICALS: In the Mailiao Industrial Complex, there are three Naphtha Cracker plants with an annual production capacity of 2.935 million tons of ethylene, 2.367 million tons of propylene and 447 thousand tons of butadiene, as well as a variety of petrochemical raw materials such as vinyl chloride, polyvinyl chloride, aromatics, styrene, ethylene glycol, etc. Due to this considerable production, the Formosa Plastics Corporation has a very outstanding performance in the global ranking of petrochemical raw materials. [Figure, Table 1, the world's top five products] In order to facilitate the transportation of raw materials and products in the Mailiao Industrial Complex, we have constructed the Mailiao Port with a coverage area of 476 hectares, 24m deep at high tide, which is available for the 300 thousand ton ships which arrive and depart. So far, there are 20 docks which have been completed. With the Group's own 47 modern fleet of ships, the annual cargo traffic amounts to 70 million tons, which brings the convenience of sea transport for the local area and promotes industrial development. A total of 61 plants in the Mailiao Industrial Complex have been completed and put into production. Generally speaking, the Sixth Naphtha Cracker Project realizes the perfection of an upward extension of the FPC's industry chain. FPC has not only branched out into the oil refining industry, the most upstream of the petrochemical industries, but has also produced a variety of petrochemical raw materials and chemicals in the meanwhile. As a result, the self-sufficiency rate of raw materials in Taiwan has been greatly improved. With this foundation, we can supply the plastic processing materials and chemical fibers to manufacturing enterprises.
