GlobalSecurity.org is a public policy organization focusing on the fields of defense, space exploration, intelligence, weapons of mass destruction and homeland security. The organization's office is located in Alexandria, Virginia. The organization was founded in 2000 by John E. Pike, who serves as its director.

The organization's website provides news and analysis on weapons systems and industry, as well as guides and directories of military and space related programs, entities, and facilities. GlobalSecurity.org also provides political documents, including legislative reports, political debates, hearings, and other materials, some of which is available online elsewhere, but which GlobalSecurity.org states that it processes and collates to make more accessible to its readers.

The website aims at news reporters, but also policymakers and the public. The website is behind a MyPressPlus paywall. Eight articles are free per month, beyond which a monthly subscription fee of $9.95 is charged.

The website is known for its "Where are the Carriers?" page, which gives status reports as to the whereabouts of U.S. aircraft carriers. Forbes.com reviewed the site as part of their "Best of the Web" directory. While praising GlobalSecurity.org for its "depth of military information" it criticized the basic graphics and that the site contained some dead links.

Bob Baker (born in Bristol, England on 26 July 1939) is a British television and film writer. His most famous contributions have been as the author of four scripts for the Wallace and Gromit films The Wrong Trousers, A Close Shave and Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit and A Matter of Loaf and Death (in which a character is named after him).

Baker is also known for numerous scripts for Doctor Who between 1971 and 1979, including:

For all but the last of these, Baker collaborated with Dave Martin. Together, they were nicknamed "The Bristol Boys" by the Doctor Who production teams with whom they worked.

Baker and Martin's most notable contributions to the Doctor Who mythos were probably the robot computer K-9 (created for The Invisible Enemy) and the renegade Time Lord Omega (created for The Three Doctors, Doctor Who's 10th anniversary story). Several of Baker's stories had elements of hard science not often found in Doctor Who, even though they've also been criticised for scientific inaccuracy. Together with Martin, they also created fantasy television serials for children including the 1975 Sky.

Ashley Mote (born 25 January 1936 in London) was a non-inscrit Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for South East England. An outspoken critic of fraud in the European Institutions, he himself was convicted of benefit fraud in 2007 for which he served a nine-month prison sentence and was described by the trial judge as "a truly dishonest man". The scandal ignited a debate as to how an MEP could receive a prison sentence, yet keep his seat in the European Parliament; there are currently moves afoot to review the legislation.

Married with two children, Mote was a management consultant who ran a marketing business in Farnham, Surrey, employing thirteen full-time staff, for eighteen years before it closed in 1989 as a result of the late 1980s recession.

He later became an author, publishing several titles on right wing politics and also on cricket. His books have included Vigilance - A Defence of British Liberty (2001) about the European Union, and OverCrowded Britain: Our Immigration Crisis. His books on cricket are The Glory Days of Cricket (1997) which won The Cricket Society's "Cricket Book of the Year" award in 1997 and a 1998 re-issue of John Nyren's 1833 classic collection of articles on the Georgian game, The Cricketers of My Time. He was also the first president of the revived Hambledon Club which raises money for colts cricket.
