Oriya Muslims are an Islamic community in the Indian state of Orissa. Many members of Oriya Muslim community have migrated to Pakistan after independence and have settled in Karachi, Sindh.

Islam first arrived in the Eastern Indian state of Orissa in the 16th century after the invasion of a Brahman named Kala Paharh, and a Hindu convert to Islam, a vassal of Suleiman Kirrani the Sultanate of Bengal, after defeat and death of Raja Mukund Dev of Cuttack in 1568 CE. Suleiman Kirrani was the Governor of Bengal appointed by Mughal Emperor Akbar the Great. Kirrani was invited by Raja Mukund Dev to defeat Raja Ramchandra Bhanja the Gajapati King of Orissa, his arch enemy.

Kirrani brought with him Muslim soldiers who settled down in Orissa, however their number was very few. Some early Oriya Muslims were converts. However, the number of these Muslims, almost all converts from Hinduism, was statistically insignificant and though they were Muslims by faith, they continued subscribing to the local customs and traditions and retained Oriya as their native tongue, as opposed to Persian or Hindustani, the then-lingua franca of most Indian Muslims. The descendants of these Muslims are still found in the districts of Puri and Khurda.

Orya Maqbool Jan is a renowned columnist, poet and CSS officer from Pakistan, who writes Urdu columns for Daily Express, Pakistan. He has received numerous national awards, including the best Urdu columnist in 2004. Orya Maqbool Jan is Very Religious man and his mostly columns related to Islamic solutions of man generated problem. He wrote the book of his columns as "Harf E Raaz".

Ansar Abbasi al_Hashmi (Urdu: انصار عباسی) is an investigative editor for one of the leading newspapers from Pakistan, The News International.

Abbasi was born in Murree and did his early education in his native village. Abbasi did his matriculation at Sir Syed School Rawalpindi. He then joined Government College Asghar Mall from where he completed his Intermediate and later graduated with a ‘Bachelors in Arts’ degree from the same college. He did his Masters at Balochistan University, Quetta. He later earned another Masters degree from Goldsmiths College, University of London. His research thesis was on child labor.

After Masters in Mass Communication, Abbasi started his career as a professional journalist in 1991. His first stint was with an English language daily, The Democrat. Later, he worked for two months at Pakistan Times, before eventually joining The News International, of which he is now an editor.

Ansar Abbasi was among the first to bring forth allegations against Chief Justice Iftikhar Choudhray for gross misconduct in 2002, accusing him for admitting his son Dr. Arsalan to the Federal Investigation Agency undermining all merits. Primarily based on this allegation the establishment moved a reference to Supreme Judicial Council against Chief Justice Iftikhar Choudhry.

In the Street is an album by the Village People featuring the return of its original lead singer Victor Willis. Ray Simpson who had replaced Willis is featured on two songs on the album (Everybody Loves the Funk, Radio Freak). The G.I. Alex Briley also sings lead on one song (Lonely Lady). The album also featured a bonus track (America) with Miles Jaye who replaced Ray Simpson, on lead. Fox on the Box and In the Street contain the same songs, except In the Street features a bonus track (America) by Miles Jaye. Fox on the Box was released by RCA Records in 1982 and In the Street by Casablanca Records a year later.
