Homebrew Computer Club Reunion, 2013
Before 1975, the computer was an exotic and expensive tool for engineers, scientists, and businesses. By 1985 the computer had been "democratized", and anyone with the need, the interest, and a few thousand dollars could have one of their own. At the nexus of that remarkable ten-year transition was the San Francisco Bay Area's "Homebrew Computer Club", an informal gathering of designers, hackers, entrepreneurs, and hobbyists who were early participants in the personal computer revolution. The first meeting was on March 5, 1975 in a Menlo Park garage. Thirty-eight years later, on November 11, 2013, the Computer History Museum hosted a reunion that included many of the club members, and also a new generation of young fans and admirers who had not yet been born in 1975. Featured on this video of the 2013 reunion are longtime club moderator Lee Felsenstein, keynote speaker Ted Nelson, Apple Computer co-founder Steve Wozniak, and others.- published: 16 Dec 2013

Bill Gates Biography - Documentary
Bill Gates Biography. Documentary on the legendary Bill Gates - founder of Microsoft, one of the most powerful and richest companies in the world. William Henry "Bill" Gates III (born October 28, 1955) is an American business magnate, investor, programmer, inventor and philanthropist. Gates is the former chief executive and current chairman of Microsoft, the world's largest personal-computer software company, which he co-founded with Paul Allen. He is consistently ranked among the world's wealthiest people and was the wealthiest overall from 1995 to 2009, excluding 2008, when he was ranked third; in 2011 he was the wealthiest American and the second wealthiest person. During his career at Microsoft, Gates held the positions of CEO and chief software architect, and remains the largest individual shareholder, with 6.4 percent of the common stock. He has also authored and co-authored several books. Gates is one of the best-known entrepreneurs of the personal computer revolution. Gates has been criticized for his business tactics, which have been considered anti-competitive, an opinion which has in some cases been upheld by the courts. In the later stages of his career, Gates has pursued a number of philanthropic endeavors, donating large amounts of money to various charitable organizations and scientific research programs through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, established in 2000. Gates stepped down as chief executive officer of Microsoft in January 2000. He remained as chairman and created the position of chief software architect. In June 2006, Gates announced that he would be transitioning from full-time work at Microsoft to part-time work, and full-time work at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He gradually transferred his duties to Ray Ozzie, chief software architect, and Craig Mundie, chief research and strategy officer. Gates's last full-time day at Microsoft was June 27, 2008. He remains at Microsoft as non-executive chairman.- published: 15 May 2013

God's Technology Trailer
"a clear, biblical guide for a confusing, digital age" - Burk Parsons (Editor of Tabletalk)
"a must-see for any concerned parent" - Tim Challies (Challies.com)
We are living in the second decade of the digital revolution, a revolution that is proving even more momentous and world-changing than the Industrial Revolution. The personal computer and the Internet have transformed the way we and our children study, play, socialize, shop, learn, and even apply for jobs. If you are a parent, teacher, or pastor, you probably feel overwhelmed by the size and speed of the changes. There are many wonderful new opportunities, but also many dangers.
In God’s Technology, Dr. David Murray presents a Christian response to the digital revolution. After laying the foundation of four biblical principles, he makes the case for disciplined discernment in our use of technology. He then presents a practical seven-step training program to develop disciplined discernment in our children, and he concludes by showing how to apply these seven steps to Facebook use.
God’s Technology is ideal for families, schools, and churches that want to train their children to use God’s good gift of technology in a God-glorifying way.
David Murray is Professor of Old Testament and Practical Theology at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, and chairman of HeadHeartHand Media. He was a pastor in Scotland for 12 years before moving to Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2007. He blogs regularly at Head Heart Hand: Leadership for Servants.
