Plot
"Sizzle" is a novel blend of three genres -- mockumentary, documentary, and reality. Scientist-turned-filmmaker Dr. Randy Olson, is a fan of Al Gore's global warming movie, but asks, "Where are all the scientists?" He sets out to make his own documentary about global warming featuring scientists, but the only backers he can find are a fabulously flaky couple who top their list of people they want him to interview with Tom Cruise (not a scientist but a Scientologist -- "most people don't know the difference") and Kate Winslett ("she does a good British accent which makes her very believable"). They also give him a cameraman who is a global warming skeptic and argues with the climate scientists they interview. Through a series of interviews and an eventual road trip to New Orleans the movie delves to new depths in an effort to understand the confusion around global warming, which may be the most serious problem to ever confront humanity. Or not.

Plot
Chilly Willy and his friend the polar bear enjoy playing their own pop tune, "The Mukluk Bop," at all hours. But in a ship docked nearby, a captain is trying to get some sleep. The captain visits their igloo and demands that the two antarctic rockers stop making noise. They pay no heed to the fuddy-duddy, so he decides to take action. The radio gives him the idea that Hollywood would pay him big money for a new rock group with a gimmick. And what could be a better gimmick than a polar bear that sings and plays the guitar or a penguin that plays the tambourine? The captain attempts to capture the animals, but they put up a better fight than he bargained for.

Plot
A sentry is posted to guard the food supply at a South Pole expedition location, but Chilly Willy the penguin is hungry and has his eyes on the canned sardines and other sea-food choices at the post. Lots of chase and pursuit but Willy ends up well fed.

Plot
In the Antarctic, a fishing boat passes an iceberg where we hear the lullaby "Rockabye Baby" being sung. The captain explains how, 20 years ago, a polar bear was trying to steal fish from his ship. Alas, Chilly Willy the penguin also had his eyes on the fish. A very mean bulldog was sleeping in front of the fish, and Willy made sure the polar bear kept waking it up. Every time, the bear quickly sang a verse of "Rockabye Baby" and the dog would fall asleep again. Finally, the two of them ended up stranded atop a tall iceberg, where we see that they're still going at it, with bushy gray beards now.

Plot
A series of travelogue gags, focusing on national parks and wildlife. In Yosemite, we meet a bear and a deer; the bear enforces his own "do not feed" sign; the deer greets us with "hello, big boy." A desperate scoutmaster asks to use a gas station washroom, then calls his troop of hundreds. A fire ranger spots a discarded cigar and races to pick it up - and smoke it. Alaska: A husky dog reads a mileage sign and sets off for California (beginning a running gag). A ferocious bobcat stalks a cute defenseless baby quail. The desert: we see our dog again; a lizard sheds its skin like a stripper. Because the next scene is scary, the screen is split: for the grownups, a scary gila monster; for the children, a little girl reciting "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and snarling at the reptile when she finishes. The Grand Canyon: A tourist testing the echo hears an operator: "I'm sorry, they do not answer" (and the dog, again). Beavers build the Hoover Dam. The dog reaches California, where he makes for the giant redwoods.

Remarkable adaptations allow polar bears to live in the frozen Arctic, but global warming is destroying their habitat and leaving them seriously endangered. Despite being born deaf and blind beneath the snow, cubs eventually grow into the most powerful of all four-legged animals.
Using their incredible sense of smell to track their prey, adult polar bears spend most of their lives alone, wandering over the vast tracts of frozen ice in search of blubber-rich prey such as seals, walruses and even whales. They are also remarkably good swimmers and have been spotted over 60 miles from shore.

TORONTO -- The sole surviving polar bear cub of three born in November is growing and is now taking his first steps forward, according to a new video from the Toronto Zoo.
The video, uploaded to Facebook, shows the cub taking a few steps and making sounds.
It will likely be the cutest video of a polar bear cub you see today.
The cub, now growing whiskers, is kept in a permanently air conditioned room and receives six bottle of milk each day.
He weighs just 4.4 kg but according to a Zoo press release, has started to bite things -- his blanket being one of his main targets.
"He is beginning to teethe and likes to bite objects such as his blanket. His canine teeth, incisors and some of his molars can now be felt."
The cub was born on Nov. 9 along with two siblings. The cub was taken from her mother, who was unable to nurse her after 48 hours, and cared for by zoo staff.

One of my favorite places in San Francisco is a ruin, all that is left of Sutro Baths, once one of the wonders of the West and said to be the largest indoor swimming complex in the world. Sutro Baths was as tall as a 10-story building, had seven swimming pools and contained a museum of curiosities - stuffed polar bears and sea lions, Egyptian mummies, snakes, exotic plants, totem poles, even the clothes Mr. and Mrs ... The polar bear (Ursus maritimus) is a bear native largely within the Arctic Circle encompassing the Arctic Ocean, its surrounding seas and surrounding land masses. It is the world's largest land carnivore and also the largest bear, together with the omnivorous Kodiak Bear, which is approximately the same size. A boar (adult male) weighs around 350–680 kg (770–1,500 lb), while a sow (adult female) is about half that size. Although it is closely related to the brown bear, it has evolved to occupy a narrower ecological niche, with many body characteristics adapted for cold temperatures, for moving across snow, ice, and open water, and for hunting the seals which make up most of its diet. Although most polar bears are born on land, they spend most of their time at sea. Their scientific name means "maritime bear", and derives from this fact. Polar bears can hunt their preferred food of seals from the edge of sea ice, often living off fat reserves when no sea ice is present.
The polar bear is classified as a vulnerable species, with eight of the nineteen polar bear subpopulations in decline. For decades, large scale hunting raised international concern for the future of the species but populations rebounded after controls and quotas began to take effect.[citation needed] For thousands of years, the polar bear has been a key figure in the material, spiritual, and cultural life of Arctic indigenous peoples, and polar bears remain important in their cultures.

Grizzly Man is a 2005 documentary film by German director Werner Herzog. It chronicles the life and death of bear enthusiast Timothy Treadwell. The film consists of Treadwell's own footage of his interactions with grizzly bears before he and his girlfriend Amie Huguenard were killed and eaten by a bear in 2003, and of interviews with people who knew or were involved with Treadwell. The footage he shot was later found, and the final film was co-produced by Discovery Docs, the Discovery Channel's theatrical documentary unit, and Lions Gate Entertainment. The film's soundtrack is by British singer songwriter and guitarist Richard Thompson.
Timothy Treadwell spent 13 summers in Katmai National Park and Preserve, Alaska. Over time, he believed the bears trusted him and would allow him to approach them; sometimes he would even touch them. Treadwell was repeatedly warned by park officials that his interaction with the bears was unsafe to both him and to the bears. "At best, he's misguided," Deb Liggett, superintendent at Katmai and Lake Clark national parks, told the Anchorage Daily News in 2001. "At worst, he's dangerous. If Timothy models unsafe behavior, that ultimately puts bears and other visitors at risk." Treadwell filmed his exploits, and used the films to raise public awareness of the problems faced by bears in North America. In 2003, at the end of his 13th visit, he and his girlfriend Amie Huguenard were attacked, killed, and partially eaten by a bear; the events which led to the attack are unknown.

David Tennant (born David John McDonald; 18 April 1971) is a Scottish actor. In addition to his work in theatre, including a widely praised Hamlet, Tennant is best known for his role as the tenth incarnation of the Doctor in Doctor Who, along with the title role in the TV serial Casanova (2005) and as Barty Crouch, Jr., in the film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005).
Tennant was born in Bathgate, West Lothian, Scotland, the son of Essdale Helen (née McLeod) and The Rev. Alexander McDonald (known to family and friends as Sandy McDonald). He grew up with his brother Blair and sister Karen in Ralston, Renfrewshire, where his father was the local Church of Scotland minister. Tennant's maternal great-grandparents, William and Agnes Blair, were staunch Protestants from Derry in Ulster, the northern province of Ireland, and were among the signatories of the Ulster Covenant in 1912; William was a member of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland. Tennant's maternal grandfather, footballer Archie McLeod, met William and Agnes's daughter Nellie while playing for Derry City.
