Defence lawyers had tried to have evidence against the man ruled inadmissible, saying Australian Federal Police did not obtain informed consent before conducting searches in Jakarta and Darwin.
The accused has been charged with three counts of possessing child abuse material in Darwin and Indonesia, and 11 counts of producing child abuse material.
