George Andrew Romero (pronunciation: /rəˈmɛroʊ/; born February 4, 1940) is an American film director, screenwriter and editor, best known for his gruesome and satirical horror films about a hypothetical zombie apocalypse, beginning with Night of the Living Dead (1968). He is nicknamed "Godfather of all Zombies."

Romero was born in New York City to a Cuban-born father of Castilian Spanish parentage and a Lithuanian American mother. His father worked as a commercial artist. Romero attended Pittsburgh's Carnegie Mellon University. After graduating in 1960, he began his career shooting short films and commercials. One of his early commercial films, a segment for Mister Rogers' Neighborhood in which Mr. Rogers underwent a tonsillectomy, inspired Romero to go into the horror film business. He, along with nine friends, formed Image Ten Productions in the late 1960s, and produced Night of the Living Dead (1968). The movie, directed by Romero and co-written with John A. Russo, became a cult classic and a defining moment for modern horror cinema.

Thomas Vincent "Tom" Savini (born November 3, 1946) is an American actor, stuntman, director, award-winning special effects and makeup artist. He is known for his work on the Living Dead films directed by George A. Romero, as well as Creepshow, The Burning, Friday the 13th, The Prowler, and Maniac. He directed the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead. Though officially retired from special effects, he has continued to direct, produce and star in several movies. Savini has been known to refer movie make-up effects projects to graduates of his school. He has appeared in films such as Dawn of the Dead (and its remake), From Dusk till Dawn, Grindhouse, and Machete.

Savini was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was raised in the Catholic religion and graduated from Central Catholic High School, later attending Carnegie-Mellon University. Savini served in Vietnam as a combat photographer. Savini continued to practice with makeup in Vietnam, often frightening indigenous peasants by appearing to suddenly transform into a "monster".

Anthony George (January 29, 1921 – March 16, 2005) was an American actor mostly seen on television. He is best known for roles of Don Corley in Checkmate, Burke Devlin and Jeremiah Collins on Dark Shadows, and Dr. Will Vernon on One Life to Live.

He was born Ottavio Gabriel George in Endicott, New York, the second son of Italian immigrant parents. From the age of six, George dreamt of being in films. After serving in World War II, George moved to Hollywood to achieve his goal of stardom. The first few years were lean, but by 1950 he had received his first credit and the work began to accumulate. He appeared as an Indian guide in the 1956 episode "Death in the Snow" of NBC's anthology series, The Joseph Cotten Show, Cotton later returned the favor, guest starring in the episode Face in the Window of Checkmate. George guest starred in an episode of two syndicated television series, the Barbara Eden sitcom, How to Marry a Millionaire and the John Bromfield crime drama Sheriff of Cochise. He appeared in the first Brian Keith CBS series, Crusader, a 1955–1956 Cold War drama.

Maximillian Michael "Max" Brooks (born May 22, 1972) is an American author and screenwriter, with a particular interest in zombies. Brooks is also a television and voice-over actor.

Brooks was born in New York City, the son of the Jewish American director, producer, writer, and actor Mel Brooks and Italian American actress Anne Bancroft.

He is a graduate of Pitzer College, majoring in history, and delivered the commencement speech for the class of 2011.

From 2001 to 2003, Brooks was a member of the writing team at Saturday Night Live.

Brooks is the author of The Zombie Survival Guide. The book touches on what it describes as pop cultural myths about zombies. The book was later followed up in 2009 by The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks, a graphic novel depicting several of the events detailed in the book's latter section.

Brooks' book World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, which deals with the war between the human race and zombies, was released on September 12, 2006. Paramount Pictures has acquired the movie rights; Brad Pitt's production company Plan B Entertainment will produce the film. In the October 2006 issue of Fangoria Magazine, Brooks stated that he will not be writing the screenplay for the motion picture, as he feels he is not an accomplished enough screenwriter to "do it right" (J. Michael Straczynski is writing the screenplay).

Laurence T. Fessenden (born 1963) is an American producer, writer, director, and actor.

Larry Fessenden was the winner of the 1997 Someone to Watch Spirit Award, and a nominee for the 2010 Piaget Spirit Award for producing. He is also the writer, director and editor of the award-winning art-horror trilogy HABIT (Nominated for 2 Spirit Awards), WENDIGO and NO TELLING. His recent film, THE LAST WINTER (Nominated for a 2007 Gotham Award for best ensemble cast), premiered at the 2006 Toronto Film Festival and was distributed through IFC. Fessenden directed SKIN AND BONES for NBC TV's horror anthology FEAR ITSELF. He wrote the screenplay with Guillermo del Toro of ORPHANAGE, an English language remake of the successful Spanish film EL ORFANATO. Fessenden was awarded the 2007 Sitges Film Festival Maria Award for his work as a producer, actor and director in genre film, and he won the 2009 Golden Hammer Award for “being such an inspiring force in the industry.” In 2011, Fessenden was inducted into the "Fangoria Hall of Fame" and was honored by the UK’s Total Film as an Icon of Horror during the Frightfest Film Festival.
