Samsung GALAXY Note 3 Official TVC - The Developer
Told from a child's perspective, "The Developer" is a musical short film by Samsung featuring Lionel Messi and the hit single "Royals" by Lorde. A mysterious stranger arrives in a low income neighborhood and captures the imaginations of the children who live there. He is "The Developer" and the children view him with a deep suspicion. Together with his Samsung GALAXY Note 3 and GALAXY Gear, the Developer effortlessly masterminds a secret construction project. Using the latest in Samsung technology including Action Memo, Pen Window, Scrapbook and hands-free call capability on the Gear, the Developer orchestrates and executes his mysterious mission. The children watch in awe. They reflect on their current situation by singing Lorde's breakout hit "Royals," a song about overcoming her own humble beginnings. The spot concludes with a beautiful new pitch that has been constructed in the toughest part of town. The Developer is revealed to be the world's reigning football star, Lionel Messi, fulfilling his personal mission to help under privileged children. Lionel Messi Meets A Gang Of Singing Street Urchins In New Ad For Samsung Watch [THE BRIEF] Good morning, AdLand. Here's what you need to know today: Samsung's latest ad by agency Leo Burnett features FC Barcelona soccer star Lionel Messi and a chorus of singing street urchins. The children sing the New Zealand singer Lorde's hit song "Royals" as Messi uses the Galaxy Gear smart watch and Galaxy Note 3 phone to destroy an worn-down housing complex and turn it into a soccer stadium for the kids. Samsung reveals post-apocalyptic Galaxy Gear ad featuring Lionel Messi Samsung has unveiled its latest Leo Burnett-created ad for Galaxy Gear, featuring footballer Lionel Messi and music from Lorde. The Developer ad features a version of 16-year-old Lorde's single Royals being sung by a series of children in a post-apocalyptic style city landscape. Filmed on the streets of Barcelona, the two-minute spot ends with the youngsters running onto a field awaited by Argentine footballer Lionel Messi, who plays for FC Barcelona. It follows Samsung's first film in the Design Your Life campaign - set to singer/songwriter Annie Lennox's "Sweet Dreams". Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Gear ad stars footballer Lionel Messi Samsung Electronics has released the second TV ad in its global 'Design Your Life' integrated campaign, which follows unique individuals as they bring their passions to life using Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear. Titled Messi's Note ('The Developer'), the ad combines classic storytelling, modern technology, as well as audio and visuals to create a cinematic experience that illustrates Lionel Messi's passion for football and the possibilities that are opened by an entirely new mobile experience. Featuring chart-topper 'Royals' from New Zealand pop star Lorde, as sung by a chorus of children, 'The Developer' follows a mysterious character who enters an unnamed and desolate town with unclear motivations. As he moves through the grim and empty streets, the youth of the city become intrigued and begin to follow him. As the man winds through the twisted back alleys of the city, he uses his Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear to spearhead a secret project. He issues verbal orders into the Galaxy Gear upon his wrist, purchases an abandoned plot of land, authorizes an army of heavy equipment to begin building and watches abandoned buildings being demolished on the Galaxy Note 3 in his palm. The children eagerly watching the man begin to signal to their friends that something amazing is happening. As youths begin to emerge from their homes, they sprint to the construction site and arrive at a stunning new field. Standing on the field is Lionel Messi, the mysterious character, inviting them to a game of soccer. Ad for Note 3 and Gear proves Samsung didn't get the lyrics to Lorde's Royals Samsung has released a new ad for its Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear combination. The ad stars FC Barcelona football star Lionel Messi, as he uses his Note 3 and Gear to get an old and dilapidated building demolished to make way for a new football stadium for children. While all of this happens, the children sing New Zealand teenage sensation Lorde's breakout hit Royals. here's the irony, the original song criticises needless spending on luxury goods and mindless consumption of things needed. Lyrics of the song go "But everybody's like: Crystal Maybach Diamonds on your timepiece Jet planes Islands Tigers on a gold leash Nuevo anuncio. futbolista. futbol. comercial. publicidad. campaña. advertisement. commercial. spot. ad. announcement. publishment. niños cantando. cantan. mundo apocalipsis. apocaliptico. campo. clip. october. octubre 2013- published: 10 Oct 2013

The Afronauts by Cristina De Middel
In 1964, still living the dream of their recently gained independence, Zambia started a space program that would put the first African on the moon catching up the USA and the Soviet Union in the space race.
Only a few optimists supported the project by Edward Makuka, the school teacher in charge of presenting the ambitious program and getting its necessary funding. But the financial aid never came, as the United Nations declined their support, and one of the astronauts, a 16 year old girl, got pregnant and had to quit.
That is how the heroic initiative turned into an exotic episode of the african history, surrounded by wars, violence, droughts and hunger.
The Afronauts is a featured multimedia piece on DEVELOP Tube. DEVELOP Tube is an educational resource which features multimedia, interviews, lectures & films about photojournalism, documentary & fine art photography. vimeo.com/channels/developphoto
From Cristina: As a photojournalist I have always been attracted by the eccentric lines of story-telling avoiding the same old subjects told in the same old ways.
Now, with my personal projects, I respect the basis of the truth but allow myself to break the rules of veracity trying to push the audience into analyzing the patterns of the stories we consume as real.
“Afronauts” is based on the documentation of an impossible dream that only lives in the pictures. I started from a real fact that took place 50 years ago and rebuilt the documents adapting them to my personal imagery.

Nakedness is usually reserved for the private realm. We make sure the curtain is pulled before we undress. On the beach, we wriggle awkwardly behind towels to preserve our modesty and a dropped corner is cause for deep blushes. It is about more than just skin. Nakedness is a concept as much as it is a state of being, and one wreathed in paradox. With it are bound notions of privacy, self-possession, and jurisdiction. It can connote innocence or sexuality, purity or depravity. It can signify both power and vulnerability, used to liberate or humiliate.
We arrive in this world without a stitch on our backs, raw-skinned and unadorned. In infancy and childhood, nudity is still considered natural, a sign of prelapsarian purity, untainted by the unseemly connotations that begin to attach themselves as we draw nearer to adolescence.
As one YBN member explains: "I was drawn in by the great equalizing aspect of naturism. It is interesting how far people would retain their respective rank if they were divested of their clothes. When all other things are held equal, when nude, a rich person appears no different than a poor person, or a fashionable person appears no different to someone who has to make do with the clothing they have. Thus, these classifications disappear and the playing field is leveled. In the naturist environment, I am their equal - I’m not better than them, nor they are better than me, we are just human. By removing clothing I feel a barrier between people is gone and I’m more able to meet and to talk to others without the feeling that I or they have something to hide."
This project consists of young British naturists aged between 17 and 30. I aim to capture them as individuals, not just naturists.

the dark light of this nothing by Erica McDonald
The dark light of this nothing: The title of this body comes from the words of the philosopher Derrida that reflect on the experience of the loss of the Other, or the absence of "what I myself am not".
"Upon the death of the other we are given to memory, and thus to interiorization, since the other, outside us, is now nothing. And with the dark light of this nothing, we learn that the other resists the closure of our interiorizing memory."
Though the Park Slope area of Brooklyn, New York is no stranger to change, the long term residents who have sustained the neighborhood for generations are now in an increasing minority. The "old guard" is losing their sense of community. This piece is meant as a tribute to the neighborhood's long term residents.
