Is U.S. forgetting atomic horrors?
Is U.S. forgetting atomic horrors?
This week marks 68 years since the U.S. dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan. The blasts incinerated men, women and children, killing more than 200,000 people, and killing tens of thousands more in the following months and years. The U.S. is the only nation to have dropped such a weapon of mass destruction on a population, but many other countries possess nuclear weapons today. Now peace activists are worried that Americans are forgetting the horrific lessons of the bombing. Atomic Bomb Attack on Japan President Harry S Truman Washington D C 6th August 1945
The atomic bombings of the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan were conducted by the United States during the final stages of World War II in 1945. The two events are the only use of nuclear weapons in war to date. Following a firebombing campaign that destroyed many Japanese cities, the Allies prepared for a costly invasion of Japan. The war in Europe ended when Nazi Germany signed its instrument of surrender on May 8, 1945, but the Pacific War continued. Together with the United Kingdom and the Republic of China, the United States called on Japan to surrender in the Potsdam Declaration on July 26, 1945, threatening "prompt and utter destruction". The Japanese government ignored this ultimatum. By August 1945, the Allied Manhattan Project had developed and tested atomic bombs, and the United States Army Air Forces 509th Composite Group was equipped with Silverplate Boeing B-29 Superfortress that could deliver them from Tinian in the Mariana Islands. With no response from the Japanese, the bombs were dropped with the approval of President Harry S. Truman. A Little Boy atomic bomb was dropped on the city of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, followed by a Fat Man bomb on the city of Nagasaki on August 9. Within the first two to four months of the bombings, the acute effects killed 90,000--166,000 people in Hiroshima and 60,000--80,000 in Nagasaki, with roughly half of the deaths in each city occurring on the first day. During the following months, large numbers died from the effect of burns, radiation sickness, and other injuries, compounded by illness. In both cities, most of the dead were civilians, although Hiroshima had a sizeable garrison. seehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atomic_bombings_of_Hiroshima_and_Nagasaki Harry S. Truman (May 8, 1884 -- December 26, 1972) was the 33rd President of the United States of America (1945--1953). The final running mate of President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1944, Truman succeeded to the presidency on April 12, 1945, when Roosevelt died after months of declining health. Under Truman, the U.S. successfully concluded World War II; in the aftermath of the conflict, tensions with the Soviet Union increased, marking the start of the Cold War. Truman was born in Missouri, and spent most of his youth on his family's farm. During World War I, Truman served in combat in France as an artillery officer in his National Guard unit. After the war, he briefly owned a haberdashery and joined the Democratic Party political machine of Tom Pendergast in Kansas City, Missouri. He was first elected to public office as a county official, and in 1935 became U.S. senator. He gained national prominence as head of the wartime Truman Committee, which exposed waste, fraud, and corruption in wartime contracts. seehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_S._Truman- published: 24 Jan 2014

Sadako Sasaki (佐々木 禎子) und die Papierkraniche
Sadako Sasaki (佐々木 禎子) * 7. Januar 1943 in Hiroshima; † 25.

Tuning Paper Peace Cranes for Self Healing- Hiroshima Peace Park
I have matched the heart-centered, area- specific molecular magnetic field from an audio recording in Hiroshima, Japan as a designer electromagnetic field that one can listen to or tune paper, such as the Peace Crane in memory of Sadako and those who perished in the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. The designer field may give you a sense of compassionate love. Tuning the paper Peace Crane will alter its molecular structure and will match, though in a more subtle manner, the designer electromagnetic field. Learn more about tuning material on the "Sample Frequencies" page at http://helpfulwaves.com/blog/page-2/ The electrical audio coil in your computer speakers is recreating this designer field that the body recognizes. After the United States detonated an atomic bomb at Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, the U.S. government restricted the circulation of images of the bomb's deadly effect. President Truman dispatched some 1,150 military personnel and civilians, including photographers, to record the destruction as part of the United States Strategic Bombing Survey. The goal of the Survey's Physical Damage Division was to photograph and analyze methodically the impact of the atomic bomb on various building materials surrounding the blast site, the first "Ground Zero." The haunting, once-classified images of absence and annihilation formed the basis for civil defense architecture in the United States. This exhibition includes approximately 60 contact prints drawn from a unique archive of more than 700 photographs in the collection of the International Center of Photography. The exhibition is organized Erin Barnett, Assistant Curator of Collections.

Hiroshima's Hell !!!
*** WARNING - GRAPHIC CONTENT ***
The Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki killed about 250.000 people and became the most dreadful slaughter of civilians in modern history.
On August 6, 1945, 8.15 am, the uranium atom bomb exploded 580 metres above the city of Hiroshima with a blinding flash, creating a giant fireball and sending surface temperatures to 4,000C. Fierce heat rays and radiation burst out in every direction, unleashing a high pressure shockwave, vaporising tens of thousands of people and animals, melting buildings and streetcars, reducing a 400-year-old city to dust.
Housewives and children were incinerated instantly or paralysed in their daily routines, their internal organs boiled and their bones charred into brittle charcoal.
Beneath the center of the explosion, temperatures were hot enough to melt concrete and steel. Within seconds, 75,000 people had been killed or fatally injured with 65% of the casualties nine years of age and younger.
Radiation deaths were still occurring in large numbers in the following days. "For no apparent reason their health began to fail. They lost appetite. Their hair fell out. Bluish spots appeared on their bodies. And then bleeding began from the ears, nose and mouth".
Doctors "gave their patients Vitamin A injections. The results were horrible. The flesh started rotting from the hole caused by the injection of the needle. And in every case the victim died".

Mr. Matsushige, who was a news cameraman then, wrote in the "Hiroshima Tokuho", issued on August 6, 1980, based on his experience:
"...in front of the police box of Senda township located at the west end of Miyuki Bridge, a policeman took off the lid of an oil can and started to give first aid treatment to the people with burns, but the number of the injured increased rapidly. I thought this must be photographed and held the camera in position. The scene I saw through the finder was too cruel. Among the hundreds of injured persons of whom you cannnot tell the difference between male and female, there were children screaming 'It's hot, it's hot!' and infants crying over the body of their mother who appeared to be already dead. I tried to pull myself together by telling myself that I'm a news cameraman, and it is my duty and privilege to take a photograph, even if it is just one, and even if people take me as a devil or a cold-hearted man. I finally managed to press the shutter, but when I looked in the finder for the second time, the object was blurred by tears."

On August 6, 1945, at 9:15 AM Tokyo time, a B-29 plane, the Enola Gay piloted by Paul W. Tibbets, dropped a uranium atomic bomb, code named Little Boy on Hiroshima, Japans seventh largest city. In minutes, half of the city vanished. According to U.S. estimates, 60,000 to 70,000 people were killed or missing, 140,000 were injuried many more were made homeless as a result of the bomb. Deadly radiation reached over 100,000. In the blast, thousands died instantly. The city was unbelievably devastated. Of its 90,000 buildings, over 60,000 were demolished. Another bomb was assembled at Tinian Island on August 6. On August 8, Field Order No.17 issued from the 20th Air Force Headquarters on Guam called for its use the following day on either Kokura, the primary target, or Nagasaki, the secondary target. Three days after Hiroshima, the B-29 bomber, Bockscar piloted by Sweeney, reached the sky over Kokura on the morning of August 9 but abandoned the primary target because of smoke cover and changed course for Nagasaki. Nagasaki was an industrialized city with a natural harbor in Western Kuushu, Japan. At 11:02 a.m., this bomb, known as the Fat Man bomb, exploded over the north factory district at 1,800 feet above the city to achieve maximum blast effect. Buildings collapsed. Electrical systems were shorted. A wave of secondary fires resulted, adding to their holocaust.Sequence from Trinity and Beyond showing the Hiroshima and Nagasaki prep and bombing sequence in HD. Electrical systems were shorted. A wave of secondary fires resulted, adding to their holocaust.Sequence from Trinity and Beyond showing the Hiroshima and Nagasaki prep and bombing sequence in HD. MSDF ship, fishing boat collide off Hiroshima
Japan's Defense Ministry says a sports fishing boat capsized after colliding with the Maritime Self-Defense Force transport vessel Osumi off Hiroshima Prefecture, western Japan, on Wednesday morning. Ministry officials say 2 of the 4 people rescued from the fishing boat are said to be suffering cardio-respiratory arrest. The incident took place off Atatajima Island in the Seto Inland Sea at around 8 AM. Ministry officials say the sports fishing boat was carrying a captain and 3 customers. All of them were thrown into the sea, but were rescued by the Osumi's crew. The captain and one customer are suffering cardio-respiratory arrest. The Japan Coast Guard is investigating the incident. Coast Guard officials say the 2 have been brought to a hospital in Iwakuni, Yamaguchi Prefecture. They say the weather in the area was fine at the time of the incident. The visibility was good, and the sea was calm. Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera told reporters in Tokyo that his ministry immediately set up a task force. He said the 2 other sports fishermen are being treated aboard the Osumi and are conscious. He said his ministry will fully cooperate in the investigation. He said that, as the head of the ministry and the Self-Defense Forces, he regrets the incident. He said he is praying for the recovery of the fishermen. The Defense Ministry has also been informed by the Coast Guard of a report that the fishing boat capsized while trying to avoid a collision with the Osumi. The Osumi is about 180 meters long, and has a displacement of 8,900 tons. It was heading from the MSDF base in Kure to a shipyard in Okayama Prefecture for repairs.- published: 15 Jan 2014
