Lake Bayano
High quality version of a video I did recently for some lakefront property, also highlighting a little known area of Panama. Shot on the 5D and GH2 with Flow-motion hack.
Description from youtube link:
Eastern Panama is beginning to take its place as a unique and beautiful region of Panama. Lake Bayano and its Bayano Caves, located in eastern Panama Province not far from Panama City, have already brought increasing numbers of Panamanians and foreign visitors to its shores and the numbers continue to increase. The hydroelectric power plant at the Lake provides a substantial portion of the electricity that lights homes and offices in Panama City and, in recent years, the Lake has become a center of tilapia farming and tilapia are now found in major supermarkets locally, as well as exported. The identification of substantial oil and natural gas in eastern Panama will become more widely-recognized in 2013 as companies compete for the rights to develop these resources, bringing still more attention to the Lake as well as the region. The economy of eastern Panama is in the early stages of a significant economic boom.
But the real story of Lake Bayano is its beauty. With 80% of the Lake's waterfront held within a "comarca", an area set aside for Panama's indigenous peoples and where commercial activities are forbidden, only 20% is available for sale as property. This lot is the only one of its kind currently for sale, but the winds of change are blowing and they are coming to all of the east, including the Lake. Only an hour and a half from downtown Panama City and with a newly paved Inter-American highway and newly-installed bridges, travel to and from the city, Panama's largest market for vacation homes and touristic activities, is faster and more comfortable as well. In addition, the property fronts on the only paved road in the Lake area other than the Inter-American highway and directly linking to it,
For those who think in terms of acres, not square meters, the price per acre is 22K.
This is the period when someone who either wishes to live or set up a tourist business or both in a stunningly beautiful location should be thinking seriously about Lake Bayano. Land for construction will not be cheaper, it will be more expensive in the near future. A wise investor does not wait. For more information on this property visit http://panamalakeproperty.wordpress.com. For more on Lake Bayano, visit http://LakeBayano.com or http://LagoBayano.com (español).
With his background in global economic development and investment, Bob has written on five occasions for Barron's, the US financial publication, and on multiple occasions for Minyanville and Business Insider, as well as interviewed by CNBC, the New York Times, USA Today, US News and World Report, and a long list of others.
Many thanks to Kent Davis and Jeffrey Lane for their comments and most certainly Stuart Hooper who produced and directed the video. Thank you, guys!

The Passage Trailer
The existence, maintenance, and development of the Panama Canal is of global interest. It is the primary shipping route for world trade between the Atlantic and the Pacific and provides Panama with great economic stability. As Panama has learned to operate the canal, it has also learned of the challenges associated with it. During a trip to Panama, Alex Douglas began to investigate the canal's impending expansion due to global, economic and technological demand. As well as interviewing those directly involved in determining the canal's trajectory, he turned to voices that were not normally included in the dialogue, people with whom he lived for months at a time. His immersion in the lives of people from all backgrounds surfaced a more pressing need to examine the country's distribution of wealth. Even with the canal’s current successes, people in parts of Panama still struggle to find means to survive. Alex returned with a small team to document the landscape and people whose lives would be affected by the canal expansion and depend upon it's success. While the appropriate investments have been made to secure their financial future, it remains to be seen whether Panama will meet the social challenges that will undoubtably expand alongside the canal.
The Passage contains extensive footage and interviews, gathered from more than a year spent in Panama. It includes interviews with Nicolas Ardita Barletta (Former President of Panama, and Vice President of the World Bank), Jorge Quijano (Director of Maritime Operations for the Panama Canal), Juan Wong (Chief Engineer for the Expansion of the Panama Canal), and Stanley Heckadon (Director of the Smithsonian Institute in Panama) as well as voices from outside the larger sphere of influence: Anna Crossdale (single mother of three, living in the Colon slums), Bienvinedos Montenegro (70 year old taxi driver in Panama city), Carlos Valderrama (sugar cane farmer in rural Coicle), and Manuel and Maxwell (two fishermen from San Blas). These voices, mingled with vivid scenery ranging from the slum to the city, form a fuller spectrum of thought and implication surrounding the Canal's expansion. With billions of dollars being spent, heavy Western involvement, and the assurance of more money being channeled back into the economy, there has never been a more important time to closely examine these rapid developments and their effects on the lives of people.

Ben Uyeda co-founded Zero Energy Design (ZED), a multi disciplinary firm that specializes in ecologically conscious housing. As a design principle Ben focused on sustainable housing projects both in the US and abroad. ZED's work has been published in numerous publications including Architectural Record, Popular mechanics, Design New England, and Boston Home. Ben's interest in designing sustainable housing for developing nations has taken him to a multitude of countries including Nigeria, Dominica, and Panama. In 2006 Ben was asked to speak before the prime minister of Dominica about the possibility of using environmentally sensitive building practices to revitalize the local economy. In 2008 Mr. Uyeda founded FreeGreen.com a web based media company that distributes green home designs over the Internet. By 2009 FreeGreen had become the largest supplier of home designs in the world and was recognized By I.D. Magazine in its annual I.D. 40 issue as one of the 40 projects/people that is transforming the world. FreeGreen's innovative business model has been discussed in numerous publications including: The New York Times, Architectural Record, and Fast Company. Ben has taught in the architecture departments of both Cornell University and Northeastern University. During his time as a visiting lecturer at Cornell, Ben developed an original curriculum for teaching architecture students how to critically evaluate sustainable design strategies.
FreeGreen
Our theory around our Free House Plans is as follows:
No longer are homes made from simple raw materials. Today's homes are assembled from a complex combination of existing products and service providers. With this transition in home assemblies, product placement has become a natural part of the home design process (especially in green homes). From choosing cabinets that work with your kitchen, to making sure your insulation performs well and contributes to good indoor air quality, it all comes down to the products that we choose. FreeGreen has taken advantage of this progression in construction reality to create a symbiotic environment where the placement of our sponsor or vendor products allows us to create better, more usable house plans for our users, while giving us the ability to offer those same house plans for free. That said, we are not shy in saying that: FreeGreen would not exist without paid placement from product manufacturers, and all product or service provider placements should be considered advertising. In the same way that television has used advertiser revenues to bring us our favorite programs for free, FreeGreen, is using house plan product placement to promote and disseminate green design for free. In order to avoid product bias, we present every product and material in a fair and clear light. Users can see ratings from established third-party green certification programs such as LEED and NAHB for each product (good or bad), or research performance through our energy modeling reports. Our goal is to show you a multitude of material and product possibilities through various lenses, including quality, health, and energy performance.
Zero Energy Design
ZeroEnergy Design (ZED) is an architecture and energy consulting firm specializing in new construction and major renovations. Our commitment to innovative and ecologically sensible design is reflected in our multidisciplinary knowledge base, which spans architecture, mechanical engineering and financial analysis. With this shared expertise, ZED originates designs that are tailored to a client's way of life, environmental ideology, and unique sense of style. We take our name from the industry term zero energy (or zero-net energy), which is defined as a building that creates as much energy as it uses. A zero energy building is the result of a multi-disciplined effort and appropriately symbolizes our integrated design philosophy and approach. While zero energy buildings are an aspirational goal for some, they are feasible for some clients.

Lodewijk Hof
Lodewijk Hof (1987) Eindhoven
http://www.linkedin.com/in/lodewijkhof
Isle of man
“Op het Isle of Man zien ze me graag komen. Mijn huisvesting is geregeld.
Contacten/stimulansen
“Mijn moeder is mijn belangrijkste stimulans geweest.
